ESTADO DE LA TÉCNICA STATE OF THE ART
The dental implants to which the device refers are those that are implanted in the maxillary and / or mandibular bone through a surgical operation, and which have a body and a platform, the latter is the one that will receive and support the rehabilitation planned. Dental implants are called alloplastic elements (inert substances, foreign to the human body) that are housed in full bone tissue or below the periosteum, in order to preserve natural teeth or to replace missing teeth.
During the last years, there have been very important technological and biological advances in implantology, which have determined that the number of patients treated with this method is increasing. Currently, implant techniques offer multiple treatment possibilities with high predictability of results. It has contributed to expanding the field of prosthetic rehabilitation. For its realization, complex techniques of the multidisciplinary type are required; however, its role in modern clinical practice is being very prominent.
To be able to carry out the rehabilitation of said implant, it is necessary to take an impression obtained from the patient's mouth using special devices made to measure, drilled in the implant area, using transfer pins to obtain a true copy of the position. of the implant in the mouth and thus be able to make the rehabilitation structure in the laboratory.
The use of special made-to-measure devices involves a first impression of the patient's mouth with a standard device, and then the special device made to measure with the perforation in the implant area is made in the laboratory. This process has the drawback of having to perform patient care prior to making the special custom-made device, as well as increasing the cost of care for the patient. In the same way, the fact of making special made-to-measure devices does not provide the possibility of their reuse, thus increasing costs for the treating dentist.
In 2000, Bernard Guillaume and Jean Mazeirat devised a device for taking dental impressions with removable segments, the invention of which was patented in the United States on October 22, 2002 under patent number US 6468078. It presents an arrangement that allows the extraction of segments of the device through screws anchored to the body of the device, allowing the device to be opened. However, its high acquisition cost and its complex system of use have made its widespread and clinical use difficult. The solution proposed in the present application is based on the objective of establishing a true copy of the implant position in the mouth with the ability to decrease the number of sessions for the patient along with reducing effective costs for both the patient and the dentist. dealer.
In this invention, we can highlight that it consists of 3 removable segments; one for the anterior sector of the mouth, comprising from distal of the right canine to distal of the left canine together with all the teeth of the incisor group; another for the right posterior sector, which ranges from mesial of the first right premolar to distal of the last molar present in said segment; and a third removable segment for the left posterior sector, which comprises from mesial of the left first premolar to distal of the last molar present in said segment. The removable segments are attached to the body of the device through an anchoring system, which are attached to insertion slots in the body of the device that allow the insertion of protrusions of the removable segments, ensuring their position during impression taking and allowing use it when necessary. This anchoring system is designed to allow removal of the segment where transfer pins need to be used during impression taking to establish a true copy of the implant position in the mouth. In turn, both the removable segments and the body of the device have small rounded, oval or other shaped perforations, designed to release the stresses of the materials used for taking the impression.
