Definitions
- the invention relates to an eco-friendly bleaching activator developed for use in the bleaching of cotton fabrics in the textile industry.
- the invention particularly relates to a bleaching activator which contains borax, sodium perborate, boric acid, and ozone, to improve the existing properties of the fabric along with the bleaching process and to give new properties to the fabric and its production method.
- the process to remove the yellowish color of raw cotton products is called bleaching process. Especially if light colors will be used in the fabric to be dyed or printed, bleaching should be applied with precision. Otherwise, not only the desired light colors cannot be obtained, but also bright, vivid colors cannot be achieved in dyeing or printing as well.
- the bleaching process is indispensable in cotton materials that will be marketed as white, and also this process increases the hydrophilicity of cotton products.
- bleaching Various methods are available for bleaching, including cold pad-batch method and hot bleaching.
- cold pad-batch method the bleaching solution is impregnated into the fabric, and it is kept at room temperature for a long period of time, such as 16 to 24 hours.
- hot bleaching the fabric and the bleaching solution is generally treated at high temperatures for a shorter period of time, such as 30 to 60 minutes.
- the application relates to a bleaching compound containing benzoyl chloride as an activator along with hydrogen peroxide for use in the textile industry.
- the application number KR201301 13245 describes an eco/human-friendly cotton fiber bleaching process using an enzyme. In this method, cotton fiber is cleaned and bleached in a bath containing cellulase, stabilizer, sodium carbonate, triacetin, hydrogen peroxide, water, bleaching agent and catalase.
- the activators used are peroxide activators. Therefore, it does not eliminate the disadvantages of the existing bleachers considering environmental and human health.
- the present invention relates to an eco-friendly bleaching activator for cotton fabrics that meets the above-mentioned requirements, eliminates all disadvantages and brings some additional advantages.
- the purpose of the invention is to provide a bleaching activator suitable for human and environmental health.
- the purpose of the invention is to introduce a new bleaching activator to perform effective and adequate bleaching process using less water, energy, and time than existing applications. Thus, water and energy costs are reduced, and profitability increases.
- the purpose of the invention is to improve the existing properties of the fabric with the bleaching process.
- the purpose of the invention is to bring new features to the fabric with the bleaching process.
- the invention is a bleaching activator developed for use in the bleaching of cotton fabrics in the textile industry, wherein; it comprises borax, sodium perborate, boric acid, and ozone to improve the existing properties of the fabric with the bleaching process and to give new properties to the fabric.
- the invention is a bleaching activator developed for use in the bleaching of cotton fabrics in the textile industry, wherein; it comprises,
- Borax is used as a bleaching agent in the bleaching activator developed for bleaching cotton fabrics.
- Sodium perborate and ozone are oxygen providers in the bleaching process of cotton fabrics.
- Boric acid helps bleaching cotton fabrics while contributing to the bleaching activator as a pH regulator.
- Borax, sodium perborate, boric acid, and ozone are mixed, and heated to 50°C, and stirred for 1 hour to obtain the bleaching activator as a final product.
- the pH value of the bleaching activator obtained by the said production method is 13.
- the pH value of 13 increases the bleaching effect of bleaching activator.
- the bleaching activator of the invention can be used both in hot bleaching and cold pad- batch method.
- the bleach activator of the invention the cotton fabric is provided with multiple properties at the same time with the bleaching process. In addition to all these, some features such as the nonflammability imparted to cotton fabrics in the current applications are lost by washing, while the bleaching activator of the present invention makes these properties permanent when applied during the bleaching process.
