Abstract

The present invention provides a multi-compartment packaging comprising a pouch made of a flexible film material and sealed on all of its edges, thereby defining an interior chamber for containing foodstuffs; one or a plurality of first sealing lines for dividing the interior chamber into two or more compartments; and at least one pressure releasing means provided to one of the compartments; characterized in that each of the first sealing lines comprises at least one through- hole formed along the sealing line, thereby allowing pressure and steam generated upon heating the foodstuffs to be transferred between the compartments. The food packaging may further comprise one second sealing line for further dividing the interior chamber into multiple compartments. In some embodiments, the second sealing line may serve as an easily peelable sealing line which opens when the pressure in the packaging reaches a certain value.
