Abstract
Die Erfindung betrifft eine Vorrichtung zur Abgasnachbehandlung, insbesondere ein Ringkatalysator (1), mit einer ersten rohrförmigen Strömungsstrecke (8), mit einer Umlenkkammer und mit einer zweiten ringförmigen Strömungsstrecke (2), wobei die rohrförmige Strömungsstrecke (8) in radialer Richtung nach außen durch ein Innenrohr begrenzt ist und die zweite ringförmige Strömungsstrecke (2) in radialer Richtung nach innen durch das Innenrohr und nach außen durch ein Außenrohr begrenzt ist und die Umlenkkammer zur Umlenkung des Abgasstroms aus der rohrförmigen Strömungsstrecke (8) in die ringförmige Strömungsstrecke (2) ausgebildet ist, wobei der Ringkatalysator (1) zumindest einen ringförmigen Trägerkörper (3, 6) aufweist, welcher mit einer katalytisch aktiven Beschichtung beaufschlagt ist und in der ringförmigen Strömungsstrecke (2) angeordnet ist.

Beschreibung
Vorrichtung zur Abgasnachbehandlung Technisches Gebiet
Die Erfindung betrifft eine Vorrichtung zur Abgasnachbehandlung, insbesondere ein Ringkatalysator, mit einer ersten rohrförmigen Strömungsstrecke, mit einer Umlenkkammer und mit einer zweiten ringförmigen Strömungsstrecke, wobei die rohrförmige Strömungsstrecke in radialer Richtung nach außen durch ein Innenrohr begrenzt ist und die zweite ringförmige Strömungsstrecke in radialer Richtung nach innen durch das Innenrohr und nach außen durch ein Außenrohr begrenzt ist und die Umlenkkammer zur Umlenkung des Abgasstroms aus der rohrförmigen Strömungsstrecke in die ringförmige Strömungsstrecke ausgebildet ist.
Stand der Technik
Um eine möglichst schnelle und effiziente Abgasnachbehandlung sicherzustellen ist es notwendig die sogenannte Light-Off Temperatur, ab welcher die katalytisch aktiven Beschichtungen auf den Trägerkörpern von Katalysatoren ihre volle Wirkung entfalten, schnellstmöglich zu erreichen. Die chemische Umsetzung der jeweiligen Schadstoffe aus den Abgasen eines Verbrennungsmotors an den Katalysatoren kann erst beginnen, wenn diese Temperatur erreicht ist. Daher werden Katalysatoren vorteilhafterweise nahe an der Quelle der Abgase angeordnet, um möglichst schnell hohe Abgastemperaturen, und damit auch hohe Temperaturen an den Katalysatoren selbst zu erzeugen.
Alternativ zur nahen Positionierung an der Abgasquelle, beispielsweise direkt hinter einem Turbolader, welcher durch das Abgas eines Verbrennungsmotors ange- trieben wird, oder zusätzlich dazu, können elektrisch beheizte Komponenten eingesetzt werden, um die Abgastemperatur durch die elektrische Zuheizung zu erhöhen.
Nachteilig bei der Anordnung von Katalysatoren direkt hinter einem Turbolader ist insbesondere, dass die Strömungsverteilung über den Querschnitt der vom Abgas durchströmten Strecke unmittelbar hinter einem Turbolader nicht optimal ist,
wodurch auch die Abgasnachbehandlung in einem nachfolgenden Katalysator nicht optimal sein kann.
Insbesondre bei Verwendung eines sogenannten Ringkatalysators, welcher zuerst eine rohrförmige Strömungsstrecke aufweist, gefolgt von einer Umlenkkammer und anschließend eine ringförmigen Strömungsstrecke aufweist, kommt es zu einer weiteren Temperaturabsenkung zumindest im Bereich der rohrförmigen Strömungsstrecke und der Umlenkkammer, so dass die Abgastemperatur an dem eigentlichen Katalysatorträger deutlich niedriger ist. Dem Vorteil einer besseren Durchmischung innerhalb der rohrförmigen Strömungsstrecke des Ringkatalysators steht somit das Absinken der Abgastemperatur gegenüber.
Darstellung der Erfindung, Aufgabe, Lösung, Vorteile
Daher ist es die Aufgabe der vorliegenden Erfindung eine Vorrichtung zur Abgasnachbehandlung zu schaffen, welche sowohl zu einer verbesserten Durchmischung des strömenden Abgases führt als auch zu einem weniger starken Absinken der Abgastemperatur oder sogar zu einer aktiven Erhöhung der Abgastemperatur.
Die Aufgabe hinsichtlich der Vorrichtung wird durch eine Vorrichtung mit den Merkmalen von Anspruch 1 gelöst.
Ein Ausführungsbeispiel der Erfindung betrifft eine Vorrichtung zur Abgasnachbe- handlung, insbesondere ein Ringkatalysator, mit einer ersten rohrförmigen Strömungsstrecke, mit einer Umlenkkammer und mit einer zweiten ringförmigen Strömungsstrecke, wobei die rohrförmige Strömungsstrecke in radialer Richtung nach außen durch ein Innenrohr begrenzt ist und die zweite ringförmige Strömungsstrecke in radialer Richtung nach innen durch das Innenrohr und nach außen durch ein Außenrohr begrenzt ist und die Umlenkkammer zur Umlenkung des Abgasstroms aus der rohrförmigen Strömungsstrecke in die ringförmige Strömungsstrecke ausgebildet ist, wobei der Ringkatalysator zumindest einen ringförmigen Trägerkörper aufweist, welcher mit einer katalytisch aktiven Beschichtung beaufschlagt ist und in der ringförmigen Strömungsstrecke angeordnet ist.
Der grundsätzliche Aufbau eines Ringkatalysators ist aus dem Stand der Technik bekannt. Die wesentlichen Merkmale sind die rohrförmige Strömungsstrecke im
Zentrum des Ringkatalysators, welche insbesondere eine verbesserte Durchmischung der Abgasströmung ermöglicht. Im Falle eines Dieselmotors als Abgasquelle, kann diese Strömungsstrecke beispielsweise zur Vermischung des Abgases mit einer verdampften Harnstofflösung genutzt werden, um nachfolgend eine gel- eichmäßigere Beaufschlagung der katalytisch aktiven Trägerkörper der im Ringkatalysator angeordneten Katalysatoren zu ermöglichen.
Aus der rohrförmigen Strömungsstrecke strömt das Abgas durch eine Umlenkkammer, in welcher das Abgas radial nach außen umgelenkt wird und schließlich in einer der Strömung in der rohrförmigen Strömungsstrecke entgegengesetzten Strömungsrichtung durch die ringförmige Strömungsstrecke strömt. Ringkatalysatoren zeichnen sich insbesondere durch ihre kurze Baulänge im Vergleich zur tatsächlichen Länge der Strömungsstecke im Inneren aus. In den Strömungsstrecken können unterschiedlichste Katalysatoren angeordnet sein, die je nach Art des Abgases auf die Umsetzung von unterschiedlichen Bestandteilen des Abgases ausgelegt sind.
Die Trägerkörper der Katalysatoren können beispielswiese metallisch sein und aus gestapelten und aufgewickelten Metallfolien gebildet sein. Auch der Einsatz von beschichteten keramischen Werkstoffen ist vorsehbar.
Besonders vorteilhaft ist es, wenn der Trägerkörper aus einer Mehrzahl von Metallfolien erzeugt ist, und zwischen den Metallfolien eine Mehrzahl von Strö- mungskanälen ausbildet, die entlang der Strömungsrichtung durchströmbar sind. Die Mehrzahl an Strömungskanälen ist vorteilhaft, um eine möglichst große aktive Oberfläche zu erzeugen, die von dem Abgas überströmt werden kann.
Auch ist es vorteilhaft, wenn zumindest einzelne der Metallfolien Aussparungen aufweisen, wodurch Überströmpassagen zwischen zueinander benachbarten Strömungskanälen ausgebildet werden. Aussparungen können beispielweise Lochungen in den Metallfolien sein. Auch können eingestanzte Ausformungen und Profile an den Rändern der Aussparungen vorgesehen sein, welche ein Überströmen des Abgases zwischen zueinander benachbarten Strömungskanälen för- dert.
Durch die Aussparungen wird zusätzlich im Wesentlichen eine Reduktion der thermischen Masse des Trägerkörpers erreicht, wodurch eine Aufheizung des Trägerkörpers auf die Light-Off Temperatur beschleunigt wird. Ein bevorzugtes Ausführungsbeispiel ist dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der Trägerkörper aus zumindest teilweise strukturierten Metallfolien und glatten Metallfolien ausgebildet ist, die aufeinandergestapelt und aufgewickelt sind. Dies ist vorteilhaft, da das Erzeugen von Trägerkörpern auf diese Weise weithin bekannt ist und somit auf einfache Weise eine Vielzahl an unterschiedlichen und auf den je- weiligen Anwendungszweck ausgerichteten Trägerkörpern herstellbar ist.
Auch ist es zu bevorzugen, wenn die Aussparungen in den Metallfolien an dem der Umlenkkammer zugewandten Endbereich des Trägerkörpers angeordnet sind. Dies ist vorteilhaft, da insbesondere an dem Bereich des Trägerkörpers, an wel- ehern das Abgas in die Strömungskanäle einströmt eine niedrige Wärmekapazität zu einer schnellen Erwärmung führt. Somit wird sichergestellt, dass die Light-Off Temperatur schnellstmöglich erreicht wird.
Darüber hinaus ist es vorteilhaft, wenn in der ringförmigen Strömungsstrecke eine elektrisch beheizbare Heizscheibe angeordnet ist. Eine elektrisch beheizbare
Heizscheibe kann beispielsweise ebenfalls ein metallischer Trägerkörper sein, der aus Metallfolien gebildet ist. Zusätzlich weist die Heizscheibe einen oder mehrere elektrische Leiter auf, die mit einer Spannungsquelle verbunden sind und so unter Ausnutzung des elektrischen Widerstandes zu einer Aufheizung des Trägerkörpers beitragen können. Die elektrischen Leiter können zwischen die Metallfolien des Trägerkörpers gewickelt werden oder beispielswese an der Anströmseite der Heizscheibe befestigt werden.
Weiterhin ist es vorteilhaft, wenn die elektrisch beheizbare Heizscheibe in Strö- mungsrichtung des Abgases dem Trägerkörper vorgelagert ist. Dies ist vorteilhaft, um eine Temperaturerhöhung am strömenden Abgas möglichst vor dem katalytisch aktiven Trägerkörper zu erreichen.
Auch ist es zweckmäßig, wenn das Außenrohr des Ringkatalysators oder der Mantel, in welchem das Außenrohr aufgenommen ist, ein Heizelement aufweist. Ein solches Heizelement dient insbesondere dazu den Ringkatalysator von außen zu
erhitzen und durch die Wärmestrahlung Energie von dem Mantel und/oder dem Außenrohr auf das Abgas zu übertragen.
Darüber hinaus ist es vorteilhaft, wenn das Heizelement durch eine Heizschlange gebildet ist, welche um den Mantel oder das Außenrohr gewickelt ist. Eine Heizschlange kann vorteilhaft durch einen stromdurchflossenen Leiter gebildet sein, der um das Außenrohr oder den Mantel gewickelt ist. Auf diese Weise kann das Außenrohr beziehungsweise der Mantel gezielt bedarfsgerecht aufgeheizt werden und die Wärme über die Wärmestrahlung und die Wärmeleitung im Inneren an das strömende Abgas und/oder den T rägerkörper abgegeben werden
Weiterhin ist es zweckmäßig, wenn das Heizelement durch eine Mehrzahl von Heizvorrichtungen gebildet ist, welche entlang des Umfangs des Mantels oder des Außenrohres verteilt angeordnet sind. Es können beispielsweise PTC-Heizelement vorgesehen sein, die am Außenrohr oder dem Mantel verteilt angeordnet sind und so eine Beheizung der jeweiligen Struktur erzeugen.
Vorteilhafte Weiterbildungen der vorliegenden Erfindung sind in den Unteransprüchen und in der nachfolgenden Figurenbeschreibung beschrieben.
Kurze Beschreibung der Zeichnungen
Im Folgenden wird die Erfindung anhand von Ausführungsbeispielen unter Be- zugnahme auf die Zeichnungen detailliert erläutert. In den Zeichnungen zeigen:
Fig. 1 eine Schnittansicht durch einen Ringkatalysator, wobei der Trägerkörper in der ringförmigen Strömungsstrecke an seiner Einströmseite eine Lochung aufweist,
Fig. 2 eine Schnittansicht durch einen Ringkatalysator, wobei dem ringförmigen Trägerkörper in Strömungsrichtung betrachtet eine Heizscheibe vorgelagert ist, und Fig. 3 eine Schnittansicht durch einen Ringkatalysator, wobei um das Außenrohr eine Heizschlange gewickelt ist.
Bevorzugte Ausführung der Erfindung
Die Figur 1 zeigt eine Schnittansicht durch einen Ringkatalysator 1 , wobei der in der ringförmigen Strömungsstrecke 2 angeordnete Trägerkörper 3 an seiner Gasein- strömseite 4 mehrere Aussparungen 5 aufweist. Durch die Aussparungen 5, die beispielsweise in die einzelnen Metallfolien, aus denen der Trägerkörper 3 gebildet ist, eingebracht sind, kann die Wärmekapazität des Trägerkörpers 3 reduziert werden, wodurch eine schnellere Aufheizung und somit ein schnelleres Erreichen der Light-Off Temperatur möglich ist.
Figur 2 zeigt einen Ringkatalysator 1 , wie er bereits in Figur 1 gezeigt wurde. Dem Trägerkörper 6 ist in diesem Ausführungsbeispiel eine elektrisch beheizbare Heizscheibe 7 vorgelagert. Die Heizscheibe 7 kann vollständig in der ringförmigen Strömungsstrecke 2 angeordnet sein, oder aber auch etwas davor in der Umlenkkammer und durch die eigene Struktur sowohl die rohrförmige Strömungsstrecke 8 als auch die ringförmige Strömungsstrecke 2 verlängern. Die Heizscheibe 7 kann über eine nicht gezeigte elektrische Kontaktierung mit einer
Spannungsquelle verbunden werden und so elektrisch beheizt werden.
Die Figur 3 zeigt einen Ringkatalysator 1 wie in den vorausgegangenen Figuren 1 und 2, wobei nun eine Heizschlange 9 um das Außenrohr beziehungsweise den Außenmantel des Ringkatalysators 1 gewickelt ist. Diese Heizschlange 9 kann beispielsweise durch einen Heizleiter gebildet sein.
Wie in Figur 3 gezeigt kann die Heizschlange 9 entlang der gesamten axialen Erstreckung der ringförmigen Strömungsstrecke 2 angeordnet sein, so dass über die gesamte Länge eine Beheizung von außen erreicht wird. Alternativ kann auch nur ein Teilbereich von der Heizschlange umwickelt sein. Insbesondere die Gaseintrittsseite des Trägerkörpers 3 ist in einem solchen Fall umwickelt.
Die unterschiedlichen Merkmale der einzelnen Ausführungsbeispiele können auch untereinander kombiniert werden. So können die in den Figuren 1 , 2 und 3 gezeigten Merkmale auch in einem gemeinsamen Ausführungsbeispiel vereint werden, so dass die Heizschlange am Außenrohr mit der elektrischen Heizscheibe und
den Aussparungen in den Metallfolien des Trägerkörpers zusammenwirkt. Auch jede andere Kombination der einzelnen Ausführungsbeispiele ist erfindungsgemäß möglich. Die Ausführungsbeispiele der Figuren 1 bis 3 weisen insbesondere keinen beschränkenden Charakter auf und dienen der Verdeutlichung des Erfindungsgedankens.
Claims
1. Vorrichtung zur Abgasnachbehandlung, insbesondere ein Ringkatalysator (1), mit einer ersten rohrförmigen Strömungsstrecke (8), mit einer Umlenk- kammer und mit einer zweiten ringförmigen Strömungsstrecke (2), wobei die rohrförmige Strömungsstrecke (8) in radialer Richtung nach außen durch ein Innenrohr begrenzt ist und die zweite ringförmige Strömungsstrecke (2) in radialer Richtung nach innen durch das Innenrohr und nach außen durch ein Außenrohr begrenzt ist und die Umlenkkammer zur Umlenkung des Ab- gasstroms aus der rohrförmigen Strömungsstrecke (8) in die ringförmige
Strömungsstrecke (2) ausgebildet ist, d a d u r c h g e k e n n z e i c h n e t , dass der Ringkatalysator (1) zumindest einen ringförmigen Trägerkörper (3, 6) aufweist, welcher mit einer katalytisch aktiven Beschichtung beaufschlagt ist und in der ringförmigen Strömungsstrecke (2) angeordnet ist.
2. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 1, d a d u r c h g e k e n n z e i c h n e t , dass der Trägerkörper (3, 6) aus einer Mehrzahl von Metallfolien erzeugt ist, und zwischen den Metallfolien eine Mehrzahl von Strömungskanälen ausbildet, die entlang der Strömungsrichtung durch- strömbar sind.
3. Vorrichtung nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche, d a d u r c h g e k e n n z e i c h n e t , dass zumindest einzelne der Metallfolien Aussparungen (5) aufweisen, wodurch Überströmpassagen zwischen zueinander benachbarten Strömungskanälen ausgebildet werden.
4. Vorrichtung nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche, d a d u r c h g e k e n n z e i c h n e t , dass der Trägerkörper (3, 6) aus zumin- dest teilweise strukturierten Metallfolien und glatten Metallfolien ausgebildet ist, die aufeinandergestapelt und aufgewickelt sind.
5. Vorrichtung nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche, d a d u r c h g e k e n n z e i c h n e t , dass die Aussparungen (5) in den Metall- folien an dem der Umlenkkammer zugewandten Endbereich (4) des Trägerkörpers (3) angeordnet sind.
6. Vorrichtung nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche, d a d u r c h g e k e n n z e i c h n e t , dass in der ringförmigen Strömungsstrecke (2) eine elektrisch beheizbare Heizscheibe (7) angeordnet ist.
7. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 6, d a d u r c h g e k e n n z e i c h n e t , dass die elektrisch beheizbare Heizscheibe (7) in Strömungsrichtung des Abgases dem Trägerkörper (3, 6) vorgelagert ist.
8. Vorrichtung nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche, d a d u r c h g e k e n n z e i c h n e t , dass das Außenrohr des Ringkatalysators
(1) oder der Mantel, in welchem das Außenrohr aufgenommen ist, ein Heizelement aufweist.
9. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 8, d a d u r c h g e k e n n - z e i c h n e t , dass das Heizelement durch eine Heizschlange (9) gebildet ist, welche um den Mantel oder das Außenrohr gewickelt ist.
10. Vorrichtung nach 8, d a d u r c h g e k e n n z e i c h n e t , dass das Heizelement durch eine Mehrzahl von Heizvorrichtungen gebildet ist, welche entlang des Umfangs des Mantels oder des Außenrohres verteilt angeordnet sind.
