Description

AN AEROSOL GENERATING ARTICLE FOR AN AEROSOL
GENERATING DEVICE
TECHNICAL FIELD
The present disclosure generally relates to an aerosol generating device. In particular, the present disclosure relates to the construct of an aerosol generating article an aerosol generating device.
BACKGROUND
Various aerosol-generating articles for use in electronic heating devices are known. They comprise a plurality of segments, including an aerosol-forming substrate and a mouthpiece. Further segments may be aerosol treating segments, for example, for altering aerosol characteristics. Aerosol-generating articles are mass products. Typically in such heated aerosol- generating articles, an inhalable aerosol is generated by the transfer of heat from a heat source to an aerosol-forming substrate, which may be located within, around or downstream of the heat source. During consumption of the aerosol- generating article, volatile compounds are released from the aerosol-forming substrate by heat transfer from the heat source and entrained in air drawn through the article. As the released compounds cool, they condense to form an aerosol.
Alternate devices for delivery nicotine, such as electronic vaping devices and e- cigarettes have not been able to meet consumer satisfaction. One possible reason can be their inability to deliver the required tobacco taste/flavor to the consumer as that by a conventional cigarette. Some of the existing electronic and/or carbon heat-not- burn products heat tobacco substrate to generate aerosol for meeting consumer requirements.
Unlike combustion in a conventional cigarette, heat-not-burn products heat tobacco to high temperatures (around 350 °C) to release nicotine and flavor without burning/consuming the tobacco rod. For consumer to experience a similar experience as that in a conventional cigarette, the aerosol needs to be cooled down without filtering the nicotine content. One way is to cool by providing high ventilation; however, that results in reducing the nicotine content.
Thus, there is a need to design a filter that provides the desired effect and at the same time, provides ease of manufacturing.
OBJECT OF THE INVENTION:
An object of the present invention is to provide an aerosol generating article for an aerosol generating device, wherein the said article comprises atleast three segments.
It is yet another object of the present invention is to provide an aerosol generating article comprising the combination of an aerosol generating substrate, tubular filter which acts as a cooling segment and a regular filter segment for filtration.
An object of the present invention is to provide a filter design for cooling the aerosol without filtering the nicotine content.
An object of the present invention is to provide a filter design which provides aerosol at a comfortable temperature without impacting the nicotine deliveries.
An object of the invention is to provide a simple filter design with ease of manufacturing.

a second segment (102), substantially tubular, placed immediately downstream to the aerosol generating segment (101); and
the third segment (103) having a filtering material, preceded by the tubular segment (102), wherein said segments have different size dimensions.
In one implementation, the present disclosure provides at least threesegments, wherein the first segment comprises of an aerosol generating substrate.
In one implementation, the present disclosure provides a second segment configured for cooling the aerosol generating substrate.
In one implementation, the present disclosure provides a third segment with a filtering material, preceded by the second segment.
In another implementation of the present invention, the second segment is placed immediately downstream to the first segment.
In one another implementation of the present invention, second segment has ventilation holes running along both its length, configured for dilution, which further reduces the temperature of the aerosol generated from the preceding segment.
In another implementation of the present invention, first segment comprises of reconstituted tobacco packed at high densities. The inventiveness of the invention lies in placing a tubular segment immediately downstream the aerosol generating substrate to provide an internal surface area for aerosol to exchange heat and in process cooling the smoke. The aerosol generating substrate comprises of reconstituted tobacco packed at high densities. Also, the tube filter has ventilation holes to dilute and cool the aerosol.
