Abstract

The present invention relates to a laundry washer or washer/dryer (1) comprising a body (2); a tub (4) which is disposed into the body (2); a drum (3) which is disposed in the tub (4), which rotates around its own axis and wherein the laundry is placed; a shock absorber (5) which connects the tub (4) and the body (2) to each other and which has a cylinder (6) fixed to the tub (4) from one end and a piston (7) fixed to the body (2) from one end and moving linearly in the cylinder (6); a cylinder connection member (8) which enables the shock absorber (5) to be fixed to the tub (4); a piston connection member (18) which enables the shock absorber (5) to be fixed to the body (2); and a mounting plate (13) which enables the shock absorber (5) to be mounted to the tub (4) by means of the cylinder connection member (8).

Description

A LAUNDRY WASHER OR WASHER/DRYER COMPRISING A SHOCK ABSORBER
The present invention relates to a laundry washer or washer/dryer comprising a shock absorber especially having a connection member which can be easily mounted onto the tub.
In laundry washers or washer/dryers, the drum wherein the laundry is loaded rotates inside a tub and the tub makes oscillation and vibrational movements depending on the amount of laundry loaded and the rotational speed. The tub is connected from the base thereof to the body of the laundry washer or washer/dryer by means of shock absorbers. The shock absorbers absorb the vibrations of the tub and prevent the same from being transmitted to the body, thus serving as an energy transfer member which delivers the vibrations to the body. During the transition from the washing step to the spin-drying step in the laundry washer or washer/dryer, the tub and the drive group vibrate at maximum amplitude at the resonance region. Almost the entire kinetic energy of the drive group and the tub is transferred to the body, which causes noises disturbing the user. The shock absorbers absorb said high-amplitude vibrations and prevent the tub from hitting the body. In the spin-drying step, the vibration amplitude decreases, and if a single acting shock absorber is used, the shock absorber, of which the friction force is adjusted according to high-amplitude vibrations, generally transfers the low-amplitude vibrations to the body without absorbing the same.
The correct mounting of the shock absorber to the body and the tub of the laundry washer or washer/dryer by the operator is critical for eliminating problems such as noise, high-amplitude vibrations, etc. The shock absorber has two ends which are the cylinder and piston. The piston part of the shock absorber is connected to the body of the the laundry washer or washer/dryer while the cylinder part of the shock absorber is connected to the tub and adjusted at the appropriate angle, and after the height of the shock absorber is adjusted, the mounting process is completed by locking or screwing. Thus, during the mounting step the operator performs a three-step adjustment for angle, height and locking to complete the mounting. This prolongs the mounting time and also causes problems while adjusting the connection angle between the shock absorber and the tub.
In the state of the art United States Patent Document No. US9115460B2, a rotary coupling is disclosed, which provides the mounting of the friction damper to the washing machine.
The aim of the present invention is the realization of a laundry washer or washer/dryer wherein the shock absorber is enabled to be mounted to the tub and the body by the operator in a shorter time and at the correct angle.
The laundry washer or washer/dryer comprises a shock absorber having a cylinder and a piston for connecting the tub to the body. A cylinder connection member and a piston connection member are used to connect the shock absorber to the body and the tub of the laundry washer or washer/dryer.
The cylinder connection member comprises a body-shaped support plate which can be attached to the shock absorber, two lugs at both ends of the support plate and a claw on each of the lugs.
The support plate of the cylinder connection member is in the form of spherical bulge.
The cylinder connection member is mounted to the tub by means of a mounting plate. The mounting plate is connected to one end of the mounting plate and comprises an asymmetrical recess which is configured to engage with the convex support plate. The recess is formed so as to enable the bulge-shaped support plate to be joined in a plug-socket structure. Said recess and the dome on the support plate engage with each other, enabling the damper to be mounted correctly by the operator at a single mounting angle predetermined by the producer.
The cylinder connection member further comprises a protrusion to be passed through the opening in the mounting plate. The protrusion is rotated parallel to the opening at an angle of 90 degrees after passing through the opening and the shock absorber is shifted to the locking position with respect to the tub.
The recess forms a circle on the mounting plate. In said circle, two channels are provided, which enable the lugs to be dragged into the locking position where the shock absorber is fixed to the tub. A housing suitable for engaging the claw is provided at one end of the channel. The channels in the recess are preferably in the form of an arc extending with one end deepening towards the housing with a length a quarter of the circumference of said circle. By means of said channel structure, the shock absorber is enabled to be more easily mounted to and also dismounted from the tub.
The piston connection member comprises a flat-shaped support plate which connects the shock absorber to the body. The piston connection member further comprises a protrusion and a claw.
By means of the present invention, a laundry washer or washer/dryer is realized, wherein the connection angle and the height of the shock absorber is adjusted in less steps without any errors and the shock absorber is easily mounted.
The model embodiments relating to the laundry washer or washer/dryer realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention are illustrated in the attached figures, where:
Figure 1 – is the perspective view of the laundry washer or washer/dryer of the present invention in an embodiment wherein the front and top panels thereof are removed.
Figure 2 – is the view of the tub and the shock absorber in the laundry washer or washer/dryer in an embodiment of the present invention.

The laundry washer or washer/dryer (1) of the present invention comprises the cylinder connection member (8) having a convex support plate (10); and the mounting plate (13) which comes into contact with the support plate (10) and which has a recess (14) formed so as to correspond to the convex form of the mounting surface.
In the laundry washer or washer/dryer (1) of the present invention, the piston (7) end of the shock absorber (5) is mounted to the body (2) and the cylinder (6) end thereof is mounted to the tub (4). The support plate (10) of the cylinder connection member (8) which ensures mounting to the tub (4) has a convex, bulge-shaped form and a height (h). The convex form on said support plate (10) and the recess (14) on the mounting plate (13) on the tub (4) create an interlocking plug-socket structure, and thus during the mounting of the shock absorber (5), the cylinder connection member (8) is fitted into the recess (14) by means of the support plate (10) such that the correct mounting angle is applied by the operator without any error and any time loss. By means of the present invention, the shock absorber (5) can be mounted to the tub (4) by the operator at the correct mounting angle and height predetermined by the producer only by adjusting the position of the cylinder connection member (8) on the tub (4) without performing any cylinder (6)-piston (7) height adjustment.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the laundry washer or washer/dryer (1) comprises the mounting plate (13) having a channel (15) which enables the cylinder connection member (8) to be rotated on the mounting plate (13) such that the cylinder connection member (8) is shifted to the locking position to be fixed on the mounting plate (13), and the cylinder connection member (8) having a lug (12) which can be slidably moved in the channel (15). Thus, after the convex, bulge-shaped support plate (10) is fitted into the recess (14) on the mounting plate (13), the shock absorber (5) is shifted to the locking position with a rotational movement of 90 degrees on the mounting plate (13).
In an embodiment of the present invention, the laundry washer or washer/dryer (1) comprises a claw (11) which is provided on the lug (12) and which enables the cylinder connection member (8) to the mounting plate (13) after the protrusion (9) of the cylinder connection member (9) is passed through an opening (17) of the mounting plate (13), and a housing (16) wherein the claw (11) is fitted. By means of the claw (11) fitted into the housing (16), the shock absorber (5) is locked after being connected to the tub (4).
In an embodiment of the present invention, the mounting plate (13) comprises an arc-shaped channel (15) around the circle formed by the recess (14) on the mounting plate (13), which deepens towards the housing (16). By means of said arc-shaped channel (15) deepening towards the housing (16), a guiding path is formed for the shock absorber (5) to be mounted to and dismounted from the tub (4).
In an embodiment of the present invention, the mounting plate (13) comprises two channels (15) which have a length of a quarter of the circumference of the circle formed by the recess (14) so as to be positioned diagonally with respect to the two housing (16) which are provided oppositely in the recess (14). Thus, the mounting of the cylinder connection member (8) to the tub (4) is facilitated.
By means of the present invention, a laundry washer or washer/dryer (1) is realized, comprising a shock absorber (5) which can be mounted to the tub (4) at the correct mounting angle predetermined by the producer at one step and which can be easily dismounted if required.

Claims (5)

  1. A laundry washer or washer/dryer (1) comprising a body (2); a tub (4) which is disposed into the body (2); a drum (3) which is disposed in the tub (4), which rotates around its own axis and wherein the laundry is placed; a shock absorber (5) which connects the tub (4) and the body (2) to each other and which has a cylinder (6) fixed to the tub (4) from one end and a piston (7) fixed to the body (2) from one end and moving linearly in the cylinder (6); a cylinder connection member (8) which enables the shock absorber (5) to be fixed to the tub (4); a piston connection member (18) which enables the shock absorber (5) to be fixed to the body (2); and a mounting plate (13) which enables the shock absorber (5) to be mounted to the tub (4) by means of the cylinder connection member (8), characterized by the cylinder connection member (8) having a convex support plate (10); and the mounting plate (13) which comes into contact with the support plate (10) and which has a recess (14) formed so as to correspond to the convex form of the mounting surface.
  2. A laundry washer or washer/dryer (1) as in Claim 1, characterized by the mounting plate (13) having a channel (15) which enables the cylinder connection member (8) to be rotated on the mounting plate (13) such that the cylinder connection member (8) is shifted to the locking position to be fixed on the mounting plate (13), and the cylinder connection member (8) having a lug (12) which can be slidably moved in the channel (15).
  3. A laundry washer or washer/dryer (1) as in Claim 1 or 2, characterized by a claw (11) which is provided on the lug (12) and which enables the cylinder connection member (8) to the mounting plate (13) after the protrusion (9) of the cylinder connection member (9) is passed through an opening (17) of the mounting plate (13), and a housing (16) wherein the claw (11) is fitted.
  4. A laundry washer or washer/dryer (1) as in any one of the above claims, characterized by the mounting plate (13) comprising an arc-shaped channel (15) around the circle formed by the recess (14) on the mounting plate (13), which deepens towards the housing (16).
  5. A laundry washer or washer/dryer (1) as in any one of the above claims, characterized by the mounting plate (13) comprising two channels (15) which have a length of a quarter of the circumference of the circle formed by the recess (14) so as to be positioned diagonally with respect to the two housing (16) which are provided oppositely in the recess (14).
