Abstract

The invention relates to a cooling system (100) of a laser amplifier medium (30), comprising a circuit arranged in a closed loop and configured to, in use, receive a circulating heat transfer liquid (20). The circuit comprises a tank (160) for receiving the laser amplifier medium (30) immersed in the heat transfer liquid (20), an upstream reservoir (150) equipped with an upstream overflow (155) for setting the altitude of the free surface (S1) of the heat transfer liquid (20) in the upstream reservoir, and a downstream reservoir (170) equipped with a downstream overflow (175) for setting the altitude of the free surface (S2) of the heat transfer liquid (20) in the downstream reservoir, wherein the upstream and downstream reservoirs are arranged so that, in use, the heat transfer liquid successively passes through the upstream reservoir, the tank and the downstream reservoir. According to the invention, at least one of the upstream reservoir (150), the downstream reservoir (170), the discharge opening (157) of the upstream overflow, and the discharge opening (177) of the downstream overflow, is adjustably mounted in altitude. A gravity flow of heat transfer liquid is thus obtained in the tank.
