Invention relates to a connection apparatus developed to enable fixing night vision devices on helmet of various types.
The invention particularly relates to a connection apparatus having semi-lock feature of hardness adjustable and up-down, back-forth position adjustable to prevent injury of personnel during accidents and to allow easy removing when needed.
Present State of the Art
Night vision devices are optical device collecting too little light and colouring objects or persons and allowing visibility. They are generally used in army and by police. Allowing vision at low light level, the night vision devices can be hand used as well as with mounting on arms or helmet. An intermediate connection apparatus is developed for use of night vision devices with weapons or helmet.
The connection apparatus used today is moved up and down when mounted on helmet in order to bring night vision devices to eye level and can be lifted over helmet by brining them into a position called park position. Also said connection apparatus are movable up-down, back-forth and be adjustable accurately according to user’s eyes thanks to its tilt adjustment. However, heavy weight of those apparatus discomforts user. A magnet system providing turning night vision device off when it is removed from the apparatus has been developed. If night vision device supports this feature, connection apparatus fulfils turning off function. Thanks to break away feature of apparatus used today, removal and injury caused by strokes from falling and hits are prevented. However, since torque for removal from its place in current products is not adjusted, it fails to generate solutions for different torque values needed at different platforms.

Screw armature is fixed onto carrier and it extends from screw point. Armature moves between initial working position when user uses system and the second lifted position. An iron part fixes the screw point to the helmet worn by the person using the system. Screw point also comprises a belt having spindle shaft, a joint compact with armature and rotatable around shaft, a spring locking member to be fixed to joint at selected one of initial and second positions. An additional jaw belt is provided to prevent undesired movement of helmet when night vision system is in lifted position. Alternatively, liftable support can also be used together with face mask. Night vision system can be monocular or binoculars.
Another study is the invention disclosed under patent numbered TR201609067 and entitled “Single Point Helmet Connection Apparatus”. The invention relates to a connection apparatus providing connection of external devices to helmet and preventing decrease in resistance value of helmet after mounting by means of only one connection hole and comprising a hub member, a hub housing and a connection housing.
