Abstract
Up to now, the waste heat from internal combustion engines has not been used, or has not been used sufficiently, to improve efficiency. The present invention relates to a new solution for increasing efficiency. In a six-stroke internal combustion engine, the exhaust gas from each cylinder flows through a downstream regenerator and further into the exhaust. The exhaust valves in the cylinder head remain open, the regenerator valves are closed, hot water is injected into the regenerator, evaporates, and the steam flows into the cylinder and drives the piston in the fifth stroke. The steam outlet valves open and, in the sixth stroke, the steam flows through the steam turbine and into the condenser and is liquefied. The water from the condenser is treated and reused.
