  • Example 10 is BiFeO 3 , which is a well-known multiferroic material. As shown in Table 1, it was confirmed to have a perovskite structure, and spontaneous polarization was also confirmed. However, the value of magnetic susceptibility was as small as 5 ⁇ 10 ⁇ 4 . This is considered to be because in BiFeO 3 , the magnetization of iron ions (Fe 3+ ) that are magnetic ions has a very small response to a magnetic field due to antiferromagnetic coupling between different sites. As can be seen from Table 1, Example 10 has a high imaginary part of relative permittivity ( ⁇ ′′), and a dielectric loss can be expected.

  • Example 10 the value of the imaginary part ( ⁇ ′′) of the relative magnetic permeability is very small, and sufficient magnetic loss is not obtained. This is presumed to be because BiFeO 3 has almost no magnetization that responds to the magnetic field, as indicated by the magnetic susceptibility. As a result, in Example 10, it is considered that magnetic loss hardly occurs, like the conventional absorber that utilizes only dielectric loss. Also, although the peak of the imaginary part of relative permittivity ( ⁇ ′′) was confirmed, the clear peak of the imaginary part of relative permeability ( ⁇ ′′) could not be confirmed, and the difference in peak frequency (

  • Example 1 is an electromagnetic wave absorber that utilizes both loss because both dielectric loss and magnetic loss occur at frequencies close to each other. Moreover, since the values of the relative permittivity imaginary part ( ⁇ ′′) and the relative permeability imaginary part ( ⁇ ′′) are close to each other, impedance matching is easy to realize, which is advantageous for realizing an electromagnetic wave absorbing material having high absorption ability. .. • Example 2 the dielectric constant and magnetic permeability were also measured in the frequency range of 20 GHz to 110 GHz. As a result, it was found that the values of both imaginary parts are finite values up to about 80 to 90 GHz. This indicates that the multiferroic material of this embodiment has a capability of causing a loss with respect to electromagnetic waves of a wide frequency including the GHz band. As a cause of this, it is generally known that a ferroelectric ceramic material causes a dielectric loss due to relaxation of spontaneous polarization between the MHz band and the GHz band. In a multiferroic material, this loss causes a magnetic loss. It is thought that it also spread.

Further, as compared with Example 2, the maximum value of the relative permittivity imaginary part ( ⁇ ′′) is decreased and the maximum value of the relative magnetic permeability imaginary part ( ⁇ ′′) is increased. The decrease in the imaginary part of the relative permittivity ( ⁇ ′′) did not occur in Examples 5 and 6, suggesting a relationship with a different phase.
  • Example 8 has the same composition as that of Example 2, and was prepared under the same conditions as Example 2 up to the precursor powder. However, when producing the sintered body, firing was performed under the condition of holding at 600° C. for 2 hours. By lowering the firing temperature, a decrease in crystallite size was confirmed as compared with Example 2. Further, although a different phase appeared as in Example 2, the ratio of the different phase decreased. As a cause of this, it is conceivable that part of the perovskite structure is decomposed into another structure under the firing condition of 950°C. Focusing on the dielectric and magnetic properties, although the imaginary part of relative permittivity ( ⁇ ′′) did not change so much as in Example 2, a significant increase was observed in the imaginary part of relative permeability ( ⁇ ′′). .. This is considered to be due to the reduction of out-of-phase.
  • Example 9 has the same composition as that of Example 7, but was fired under the conditions of holding at 600° C. for 2 hours as in Example 8. It was confirmed that the ratio of different phases was lower than that of Example 7 and that the imaginary part ( ⁇ ′′) of relative permeability was increased. As the cause of this, as in the case of Example 8, the decomposition of the perovskite structure was suppressed by lowering the firing temperature.

However, the composition was BiFeO 3 , which was the same as in Example 10, and no addition of Cr, Mn, Co, or Ni was performed. As compared with Example 10, almost no change was observed in the imaginary part of relative permittivity ( ⁇ ′′) and the imaginary part of relative permeability ( ⁇ ′′).

  • Example 8 it was confirmed that the absorption amount increased particularly above 10 GHz as compared with Example 2. It is considered that this is due to the improvement of the magnetic permeability imaginary part ( ⁇ ′′).
  • Example 12 as compared with Example 7, the amount of bismuth (Bi) replaced with neodymium (Nd) was about the same, but iron (Fe) was not replaced with cobalt (Co). It can be seen that the magnetic susceptibility and the relative magnetic permeability imaginary part ( ⁇ ′′) are significantly reduced, and the performance as the electromagnetic wave absorber is reduced as compared with Example 7.
  • Example 13 is an excessive amount of cobalt (Co) with respect to the amount of iron (Fe), and Example 14 is an excessive amount of neodymium (Nd) with respect to the amount of bismuth (Bi).

  • Example 15 is the same measurement performed on a magnetoplumbite ferrite showing ferromagnetism, which is not a multiferroic material. A dielectric loss peak and a magnetic loss peak were observed, but the peak frequencies were different. This is probably because, unlike the multiferroic material, there is no coupling between electric polarization order and magnetic order.

Description

Figure JPOXMLDOC01-appb-M000001
