Description
SMART ROAD APPLICATION Technological Area:
This invention is about a smart road application which makes life easier and built upon faster reaching ambulances to scene or to hospitals by allowing them priorily sending warnings and determining and setting the route in traffic jams.
Current Situation of the Technique:
Emergency vehicles like ambulances and fire trucks should quickly make to the target scene in an emergency situation. Today we have hard shoulders on main roads for the use of vehicles with right of way. But emergency vehicles aren’t being minded necessarily. Some drivers don’t follow the traffic rules and make improper hard shoulder use. Besides drivers get in panic as a result of hearing siren sound and because they don’t know which lane to use vehicles with right of way are not able to use the hard shoulders and can’t make to the scene in time. As a result the situation of the patients waiting for ambulance get worse.
In the current system there’s not a solution practiced by everyone on how to give way to vehicles with right of way. If the vehicle with right of way is coming from the left lane other vehicles must go to the right lane and make the way. But this can’t be done everytime in places with dense traffic. Vehicles with right of way are left on road for minutes, can’t make to the scenes in time and cause loss of life and property.
In addition emergency vehicles particularly ambulances today are getting their patients from the scene to the hospital at the nearest point. But because sometimes the nearest hospital not having enough technical capability a time at vital importance is wasted. In todays applications there are systems which allows for tracking the locations of drivers and emergency vehicles and sending warnings to them. But these systems are in lack of
issues such as directing emergency vehicles to a point with enough technical capability and preventing other drivers using the designated road or lane.

There can be created an emergency vehicle warning for non-emergency respond vehicles and / or a routing direction for non-alternative emergency vehicles. In a way an emergency vehicle can communicate with a remote server of a non-emergency vehicle and / or an insurance provider. In order to impose a lower risk and provide insurancy saving for clients the insurance provider can provide an automatic insurance for the insurance companies of the vehicles with vehicle safety function in discuss.
