Abstract

This invention is related to a system (1) enabling persons having impaired hearing, deaf, elders, persons requiring care and persons with babies to recognize different sounds in their surrounding areas, and enabling persons having impaired hearing to take actions with regard to the source of the sound. Objective of this invention is to create a system (1) to increase awareness of persons having impaired hearing, deaf, elders, persons requiring care and persons with babies both visually and via vibrations with respect to the source of the sounds within indoor environments.

Description

A WARNING SYSTEM FOR DEAF, PERSONS HAVING IMPAIRED HEARING, PERSONS WITH BABIES, ELDERS, PERSONS REQUIRING CARE
Technical Field
This invention is related to a system enabling deaf, persons having impaired hearing, elders, persons requiring care or persons with babies to recognize important sounds in their surrounding areas, and allowing persons having impaired hearing to take actions with regard to the source of the sound.
Prior Art
Today, a system is needed, which issues warning for completely deaf people, persons who lost their hearing capability or experiencing certain level of hearing difficulty to notify them that the doors of their houses are opened or their babies are crying or their children are calling them via videophone by means of different senses, in particular with the help of visual and haptic (vibration motor) method.
One of the developments in the art, document numbered USD201618492 is related to a warning system operating via haptic (vibration motor) method. In this invention, the system comprises of an alarm device, a wearable warning device and central management server. Within the scope of one of the applications of the invention, the alarm device communicates with the warning devices in wired and/or wireless manner. Furthermore, the warning device is configured to receive the signal coming from the alarm device. Then, the warning device warns the user via the vibration as soon as relevant signal is transmitted. Brief Description of the Invention
Objective of this invention is to create a system to increase awareness of persons having impaired hearing, deaf, elders, persons requiring care and persons with babies both visually and via vibrations with respect to the source of the sounds within indoor environments wherein they live.

Another objective of the invention is to create a system comprising of a sensor and a wearable device, which can be placed on babies easily to identify crying, falling, significant health problems (pulse, blood pressure, temperature and similar items) of babies and warning the parents via visual and haptic (vibration motor) methods. This study aims to meet significant need of all parents whether they have impaired hearing or not.
This invention further aims to create a system, which identifies various risks experienced by older persons with impaired hearing and requiring care within and/or outside of their homes such as falling, death, abnormality in their pulse, abnormality in their blood pressure, and which notifies relatives of the person automatically and ensures directing the police, ambulance or fire service to the geographical location (GPS coordinate obtained over cellular data) of the person concerned.
Another objective of the invention is to develop a system by which the person having impaired hearing or requiring care or suffering from health-related risks can create alarm.
Detailed Description of the Invention
"A Warning System for Deaf and Persons Having Impaired Hearing" in this invention is demonstrated in the figures attached hereto.

6. Control application A warning system for deaf and persons having impaired hearing (1) in the present invention is comprised of;
- At least one wearable device (2) on which a display unit is placed, which can measure the pulse and/or blood pressure of its user and can be charged whenever it is required
- At least one sensor (3) placed on predetermined locations, consisting of chargeable battery and power supply and identifying sounds within relevant environment according to specific criteria
- At least one central unit (4), which communicates with sensors (3) and wearable devices (2), evaluates the data collected by the sensors (3) and wearable devices (2) and transfers the information required to disseminate vibration and visual warning data to the wearable devices (2)
- At least one remote server (5), which communicates with the central unit (4), as well as communicates with the sensor (3) and the wearable device (2) reciprocally, and sends and receives command from all aforementioned units or configures all cases transmitted by these units for alarm evaluation and necessary actions
- At least one control application (6) running on the central unit, which identifies the breakdown of the wearable device (2), sensor (3) or central unit (4), communicates with the sensor (3) and the wearable device (2), enables these units to take actions and contacts with the server on the other side.
The wearable device (2) is in the form of wrist watch and/or wrist band in one of the applications. In another application of the invention, the wearable device (2) is as small as an item which can be worn on the arm of babies, elders, people with impaired hearing, deaf or people requiring care. Within the scope of a different application, the wearable device (2) tracks its user by using GPS and SIM card technologies. In another application, the wearable device (2) can remain on the body of the user for a long time thanks to its chargeable battery. The wearable device (2) communicates with the central unit (4) in wireless manner. The wearable device (2) can communicate with the central unit (4) via bluetooth technology within the framework of another application. The wearable device (2) receives the sensor (3) detected voices via the central unit (4) or directly by itself and activates the vibration and visual warning, which remains active until it is cancelled by the user. In another application, the panic button on the wearable device (2) ensures that the user can issue alarm whenever it is needed and information is provided to all relevant parties via the remove server (5).
In another application of the invention, sensors (3) are placed on important locations such as entry door, baby room, kitchen, living room, bathroom and so on in a non-remarkable manner. In a different application of the invention, sensors (3) are placed inside of the user's house and 32 sensors can be used if it is necessary. Within the scope of alternative application, the sensor (3) detects voices such as opening and closing of the door, crying of a baby and ringing of the phone, and then transfers such voices to the central unit (4). When the sensor (3) detects the voice, it provides assistance while displaying the graphical view of the data on the display unit of the wearable device (2) with the exact location of the voice. In a different application, the sensors (3) have a chargeable battery to avoid interruption in the event of power cut. In a different application, the sensors (3) have chargeable batteries that can supply uninterrupted power during 14 days. The sensors can charge their batteries via connection with the energy supplying ports on the central unit (4). Within the scope of another application of the invention, the sensors (3) can charge their batteries via the USB (universal serial bus) points on the central unit. In a different application, the sensors (3) can communicate with the central unit (4) via Bluetooth technology. Within the scope of the preferred application of the invention, the central unit (4) can communicate with all sensors (3) inside of the user's house and the wearable devices (2) on the user in wireless manner. The central unit (4) transmits voice recognition data coming from the sensors (3) to the wireless wearable devices (2). The central unit (4) ensures delivery of the voices via vibrations to the wearable device (2) along with the warnings showing source of the voice visually, when the users are outside of the indoor environment wherein the sensors (3) are placed. The central unit (4) is fixed to a location within indoor environment where sensors (3) are placed and the central unit can communicate with all sensors (3). The central unit (4) supplies its power from the electricity. In the event of energy cut, the central unit (4) can sustain its functioning up to 24 hours thanks to its chargeable battery. Furthermore, the central unit (4) maintains the communication between the sensors (3) and wearable devices (2). In one of the applications of the invention, LED lights and an optional screen is available on the central unit (4), which issues visual warning to the persons with impaired hearing. LED light source on the central unit (4) blinks to warn the user with impaired hearing about the detected voice and/or voices. In a different application, the central unit (4) has cable and/or wireless internet access. Furthermore, the central unit (4) maintains its communication with the wearable devise (2) and the sensors (3) in the form of closed circuit whenever any internet access is not established.
In a different application of the invention, the remote server (5) communicates with the central unit (4) in cabled and/or wireless manner. Within the scope of another application of the invention, the remote sensor (5) ensures remote management, turning on/off and updating of the sensors (3) and wearable devices (2) by using a secondary software. In a different application, identity data, address and list of relatives of the users using the central unit (4) are available within the storage unit of the remote server (5).
In another application of the present invention, the control application (6) informs the persons within the list of relatives of the user stored to the remote server (5) via e-mail, SMS, phone call and similar methods in the event of realization of risky scenarios such as fainting, falling, death, abnormal pulse and blood pressure, which are defined to the wearable device (2). Furthermore, in another application of the invention, the control application (6) calls emergency services and directs police, ambulance or fire service to the geographical location of the user whenever a risky situation happens.
Within the framework of the warning system for deaf and persons having impaired hearing (1) in the present invention; more than one sensors (3) recognizing voices are placed on significant indoor locations such as entry door, kitchen, living room, baby room wherein people having impaired hearing, deaf, elder or persons requiring care sit and/or live. Furthermore, hearing-impaired persons, deaf, elders or persons requiring care use wearable device (2) on their arms. The central unit (4) communicating with the wearable device (2) and the sensors (3) is placed indoors in such a location where it can view and/or detect all sensors. The remote server (5) and the central unit (4) can be managed remotely. The secondary software installed to the remote server (5) enables turning on, off and updating of the sensors (3) and the wearable devices (2). In addition, the storage unit within the remote server (5) includes identity information, address data and predetermined list of relatives of the impaired- hearing persons, deaf, elders or persons requiring care. Furthermore, the control application (6) informs the persons within the list of relatives of the user stored to the remote server (5) automatically in the event of realization of risky scenarios such as fainting, falling, death, abnormal pulse and blood pressure, which are defined to the wearable device (2).
In conclusion, a warning system for deaf and persons having impaired hearing (1) allows hearing-impaired persons, elders or persons requiring care to recognize voices within their homes both visually and in the form of vibrations by means of wrist-wearable devices (2). Furthermore, this system identifies various risks experienced persons with impaired hearing, deaf, elder or requiring care within and/or outside of their homes such as falling, death, abnormality in their pulse, abnormality in their blood pressure, and notifies relatives of the person automatically and ensures directing the police, ambulance or fire service to the geographical location of the person concerned.
Different applications of the warning system for deaf and persons having impaired hearing (1) in the present invention can be developed wherein this invention cannot be limited to the examples provided herein and it is as explained in the claims sections.

Claims

1. A warning system for deaf and persons having impaired hearing (1) in the present invention comprising at least one wearable device (2) on which a display unit is placed, which can measure the pulse and/or blood pressure of its user and can be charged whenever it is required
- At least one sensor (3) placed on predetermined locations, consisting of chargeable battery and power supply and identifying sounds within relevant environment according to specific criteria
- At least one central unit (4), which communicates with sensors (3) and wearable devices (2), evaluates the data collected by the sensors (3) and wearable devices (2) and transfers the information required to disseminate vibration and visual warning data to the wearable devices (2)
- At least one remote server (5), which communicates with the central unit (4), as well as communicates with the sensor (3) and the wearable device (2) reciprocally, and sends and receives command from all aforementioned units or configures all cases transmitted by these units for alarm evaluation and necessary actions, and
- A warning system for deaf and persons having impaired hearing (1) characterized by at least one control application (6) running on the central unit (4), which identifies the breakdown of the wearable device (2), sensor (3) or central unit (4), communicates with the sensor (3) and the wearable device (2), enables these units to take actions and contacts with the server on the other side.
2. A warning system for deaf and persons having impaired hearing (1) according to claim 1 characterized by a wearable device (2) in the form of wrist watch and/or wrist band.
3. A warning system for deaf and persons having impaired hearing (1) according to claim 1 and 2 characterized by the wearable device (2), which be as small as an item which can be worn on the arm of babies, elders, people with impaired hearing, deaf or people requiring care.
4. A warning system for deaf and persons having impaired hearing (1) according to any of the claims written above characterized by the wearable device (2) tracking its user by using GPS and SIM card technologies.
5. A warning system for deaf and persons having impaired hearing (1) according to any of the claims written above characterized by the wearable device (2) remaining on the body of the user for a long time thanks to its chargeable battery.
6. A warning system for deaf and persons having impaired hearing (1) according to any of the claims written above characterized by the wearable device (2) communicating with the central unit (4) in wireless manner.
7. A warning system for deaf and persons having impaired hearing (1) according to claim 6 characterized by the wearable device (2) communicating with the central unit (4) via bluetooth technology.
8. A warning system for deaf and persons having impaired hearing (1) according to any of the claims written above characterized by the wearable device (2) receiving the sensor (3) detected voices via the central unit (4) or directly by itself and activates the vibration and visual warning, which remains active until it is cancelled by the user.
9. A warning system for deaf and persons having impaired hearing (1) according to any of the claims written above characterized by the wearable device (2) allowing the user to issue alarm whenever it is needed via the panic button on the device and information is provided to all relevant parties via the remove server (5).
10. A warning system for deaf and persons having impaired hearing (1) according to any of the claims written above characterized by the sensors (3) placed on important locations such as entry door, baby room, kitchen, living room, bathroom and so on in a non-remarkable manner.
11. A warning system for deaf and persons having impaired hearing (1) according to claim 10 characterized by the sensors (3) placed inside of the user's house and 32 sensors can be used if it is necessary.
12. A warning system for deaf and persons having impaired hearing (1) according to any of the claims written above characterized by the sensors (3) detecting voices such as opening and closing of the door, crying of a baby and ringing of the phone, and then transfers such voices to the central unit (4).
13. A warning system for deaf and persons having impaired hearing (1) according to any of the claims written above characterized by the sensor (3) detecting the voice, it provides assistance while displaying the graphical view of the data on the display unit of the wearable device (2) with the exact location of the voice.
14. A warning system for deaf and persons having impaired hearing (1) according to any of the claims written above characterized by the sensors (3) having a chargeable battery to avoid interruption in the event of power cut.
15. A warning system for deaf and persons having impaired hearing (1) according to claim 14 characterized by the sensors (3) having chargeable batteries that can supply uninterrupted power during 14 days.
16. A warning system for deaf and persons having impaired hearing (1) according to claim 14 or 15 characterized by the sensors charging their batteries via connection with the energy supplying ports on the central unit (4).
17. A warning system for deaf and persons having impaired hearing (1) according to claim 16 characterized by the sensors (3) charging their batteries via the USB (universal serial bus) points on the central unit.
18. A warning system for deaf and persons having impaired hearing (1) according to any of the claims written above characterized by the sensors (3) communicating with the central unit (4) via Bluetooth technology.
19. A warning system for deaf and persons having impaired hearing (1) according to claim 18 characterized by the central unit (4) communicating with all sensors (3) inside of the user's house and the wearable devices (2) on the user in wireless manner.
20. A warning system for deaf and persons having impaired hearing (1) according to any of the claims written above characterized by the central unit (4) transmitting voice recognition data coming from the sensors (3) to the wireless wearable devices (2).
21. A warning system for deaf and persons having impaired hearing (1) according to any of the claims written above characterized by the central unit (4) delivering voices via vibrations to the wearable device (2) along with the warnings showing source of the voice visually, when the users are outside of the indoor environment wherein the sensors (3) are placed.
22. A warning system for deaf and persons having impaired hearing (1) according to claim 19 or 21 characterized by the central unit (4) fixed to a location within indoor environment where sensors (3) are placed and the central unit can communicate with all sensors (3).
23. A warning system for deaf and persons having impaired hearing (1) according to any of the claims written above characterized by the central unit (4) supplying its power from the electricity.
24. A warning system for deaf and persons having impaired hearing (1) according to any of the claims written above characterized by the central unit (4) sustaining its functioning up to 24 hours thanks to its chargeable battery.
25. A warning system for deaf and persons having impaired hearing (1) according to any of the claims written above characterized by the central unit (4) maintaining the communication between the sensors (3) and wearable devices (2).
26. A warning system for deaf and persons having impaired hearing (1) according to any of the claims written above characterized by the central unit (4) on which LED lights and an optional screen is available issuing visual warning to the persons with impaired hearing.
27. A warning system for deaf and persons having impaired hearing (1) according to claim 26 characterized by the central unit (4) on which LED light source blinks to warn the user with impaired hearing about the detected voice and/or voices.
28. A warning system for deaf and persons having impaired hearing (1) according to any of the claims written above characterized by the central unit (4) having cable and/or wireless internet access.
29. A warning system for deaf and persons having impaired hearing (1) according to any of the claims written above characterized by the central unit (4) maintaining its communication with the wearable devise (2) and the sensors (3) in the form of closed circuit whenever any internet access is not established.
30. A warning system for deaf and persons having impaired hearing (1) according to any of the claims written above characterized by the remote server (5) communicating with the central unit (4) in cabled and/or wireless manner.
31. A warning system for deaf and persons having impaired hearing (1) according to any of the claims written above characterized by the remote sensor (5) ensuring remote management, turning on/off and updating of the sensors (3) and wearable devices (2) by using a secondary software.
32. A warning system for deaf and persons having impaired hearing (1) according to any of the claims written above characterized by the remote server (5) where identity data, address and list of relatives of the users using the central unit (4) are available within its storage unit.
33. A warning system for deaf and persons having impaired hearing (1) according to claim 32 characterized by the control application (6) informing the persons within the list of relatives of the user stored to the remote server (5) via e-mail, SMS, phone call and similar methods in the event of realization of risky scenarios such as fainting, falling, death, abnormal pulse and blood pressure, which are defined to the wearable device (2).
34. A warning system for deaf and persons having impaired hearing (1) according to claim 33 characterized by the control application (6) calling emergency services and directs police, ambulance or fire service to the geographical location of the user whenever a risky situation happens.
