Description
A VEHICLE OWNER IDENTIFICATION SYSTEM OVER KEY-FOB
Technical Field
The present invention relates to a system which queries whether a vehicle is being used by a person other than the vehicle owner or not by enabling to identify the vehicle owner over a key-fob located on the user; does not take any action in the event that the vehicle is being used by the vehicle owner; but when it is decided that the vehicle is being used by a person other than the vehicle owner, enables to make notification to the actual vehicle owner.
Background of the Invention
With the development of technology, the usage frequency of smart vehicle systems is increasing. Location, direction, speed of a vehicle can be monitored instantly over a map in smart vehicle systems; vehicles’ average of fuel consumption, average speeds, information of average distance covered daily/monthly can be obtained as well. It is possible to find a stolen vehicle by means of smart vehicle systems. Location of a vehicle can be easily accessed over a GPS module or a SIM card located on the vehicle. At the same time, accidents involving death can be avoided by enabling to reach the vehicle’s location in a short time in case of an accident except for theft by means of a GPS module or a SIM card located on a vehicle. In the event of a vehicle theft or accident, there is need for solutions whereby the actual owner of a vehicle is informed and it is aimed to prevent a vehicle from being stolen at the first step in the event that a vehicle is being used by persons other than the vehicle owner except for these systems which become active in order to learn the position of the vehicle.
The International patent document no. W02014031560 discloses a vehicle security system. Here, the processor can be configured to check an observed association (using vehicle identification sensor and personal identification sensor) with an expected association as retrieved from the database. When the observed association matches an expected association, no further action may be taken. However, when there is a mismatch between the observed association and expected associations, processor may activate an alert. Alert may represent a device (e.g., that generates a visible, audible, or other alert signal), or a module or procedure of processor that may be operated to alert a user of vehicle security system. For example, alert may include notification of an owner or operator of vehicle, notification of a security service that operates or that is associated with vehicle security system, notification of law enforcement of other authorities, activation of a surveillance system. For example, performance of some alert procedures, such as, for example, notification of law enforcement authorities or immobilizing vehicle, may be conditional on user approval.
Summary of the Invention
An objective of the present invention is to realize a system which decides on whether a vehicle is being used by a person other than the vehicle owner or not by enabling to identify the vehicle owner via a Bluetooth key-fob located on the user and when it is decided that the vehicle is being used by a person other than the vehicle owner, enables to make notification to the actual vehicle owner over mobile device and/or application.

The inventive system (1) which enables to identify vehicle owners and to get in contact with the vehicle owner in the event that a vehicle is being used by persons other than the vehicle owners comprises:
at least one mobile device (2) whereon at least one application can be run, which can communicate with external servers and has at least one input unit enabling a user to get in contact with the application;
- at least one security module (3) which is located on a vehicle, communicates with Bluetooth-assisted electronic devices and generates alert by detecting conditions such as vibration, engine start or motion in a vehicle;
at least one application (4) which is run on the mobile device (2) and wherein a record is created for alerting in cases when conditions such as vibration, engine start or motion occur without the vehicle owner’s request;
at least one Bluetooth-assisted key-fob (5) which is matched with the security module (3) over the application (4), carried by the user and comprises at least one button;
at least one database (6) wherein matched user information on the basis of the mobile device (2) and MSISDN of vehicle owners are stored; and
at least one server (7) which controls whether the Bluetooth-assisted key-fob (5) of the user matches with the security module (3) located on the vehicle or not, does not take any action in case of a match, however warns the actual vehicle owner over the mobile device (2) and/or the application (4) by using the user information included in the database (6) in case of no match.
In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the mobile device (2) is an electronic device such as cell phone, smartphone, or tablet computer whereon the application (4) is run and which receives mobile communication service over a mobile communication network by at least one SIM card included in thereof. The mobile device (2) warns the actual vehicle owner upon the server (7) is triggered in accordance with the no match information received from the security module (3).
In the inventive system (1), the security module (3) is a unit which ensures that information such as vibration, motion, engine start received from a vehicle are read upon being inserted to preferably ODB (on board diagnostic) socket of the vehicle and which matches with the Bluetooth key-fobs (5) by the Bluetooth assist included in thereof. The security module (3) is matched with the Bluetooth key- fob (5) of the owner of the vehicle where it is located. Thereby, it is controlled whether the vehicle is really used by the vehicle owner or not.
In the invention, the application (4) is run on the mobile device (2) and it is a unit wherein the vehicle owner can manage the security notifications that s/he wants to receive about the vehicle and the Bluetooth key-fob (5) is matched with the security module (3). It can be activated or deactivated whether to send security notifications over the application (4) or not. The application (4) ensures that the
vehicle owner is warned upon being triggered by the server (7) in the event that security notifications are active, there is no match between the security module (3) and the Bluetooth key-fob (5) but one or more of conditions such as vibration, engine start or motion occur in the vehicle.
In the invention, the key-fob (5) is a Bluetooth-assisted device and it is matched with the security module (3) by the user with the help of the application (4) being run on the mobile device (2). By means of the key-fob (5), it is avoided to warn the vehicle owner unnecessarily through the security module (3) by sharing the match information with the server (7) when the user comes closer to the vehicle.
In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the database (6) is a unit wherein matched user information on the basis of the mobile device (2) and MSISDN of vehicle owners are stored. The server (7) warns the vehicle owner by using the actual vehicle owner information being stored on the database (6), in the event that it receives information from the security module (3) that vibration, engine start or motion occurs in the vehicle, without matching in the Bluetooth key-fob (5) and the security module (3).

In a preferred embodiment of the invention, a vehicle owner identifies that s/he wants to receive alert notification in the event of detecting vibration, engine start or motion in the vehicle over the application (4) and matches the security module (3) on the vehicle with the mobile Bluetooth key-fob (5) over the application (4). Upon matching is provided, the security module (3) does not generate any alert by
providing matching every time the vehicle owner approaches the vehicle by his/her key-fob (5). Thereby, the vehicle owner is warned over the mobile device (2) or the application (4) in cases such as the user starts and moves the vehicle by himself/herself. In the event that the security module (3) and the key-fob (5) don’t match and vibration, motion or engine start is detected in a vehicle; the vehicle owner is informed over the mobile device (2) and/or the application (4).
Within these basic concepts; it is possible to develop various embodiments of the inventive vehicle owner identification system over key-fob (1); the invention cannot be limited to examples disclosed herein and it is essentially according to claims
