- the inventors of the present application arrange a position detecting element such as the magnetic sensor 20 in the steering device 1 to measure the position of the rack 10 with high accuracy and the angle of the wheel 3 with high accuracy. I focused on doing. In particular, the inventors of the present application focus on measuring the position of the rack 10 with high accuracy by a magnetic linear encoder provided in the steering device 1 with a magnetic pattern 30 and a magnetic module 21 having a plurality of magnetic sensors 20. did.
- a magnetic pattern 30 having a plurality of N-pole magnetic bodies 30N and a plurality of S-pole magnetic bodies 30S is formed on the rack 10 of the present embodiment.
- the magnetic pattern 30 has a thickness of 1 mm, for example.
- the magnetic pattern 30 is an absolute type capable of detecting the absolute coordinates of the rack 10, and has a coarse magnetic pattern 31 and a fine magnetic pattern 32.
- the coarse magnetic pattern 31 and the fine magnetic pattern 32 each extend in the X direction and are arranged so as to be adjacent to each other in the Y direction orthogonal to the X direction.
- the N-pole magnetic body 30N and the S-pole magnetic body 30S form an n-bit random random number code pattern (M-sequence pattern).
- the N-pole magnetic body 30N and the S-pole magnetic body 30S in the rough magnetic pattern 31 may have other patterns.
- the fine magnetic pattern 32 of the present embodiment the N-pole magnetic body 30N and the S-pole magnetic body 30S are alternately arranged.
- the coarse magnetic pattern 31 has 7 bits, and seven magnetic sensors 20 are provided on the coarse magnetic pattern 31, and four fine magnetic patterns 32 are provided on the fine magnetic pattern 32. The case where the magnetic sensor 20 is provided is illustrated. Further, the number of bits and the number of magnetic sensors 20 can be appropriately changed.
- the magnetic module 21 includes a plurality of magnetic sensors 20 mounted on the sensor substrate 22, and each magnetic sensor 20 is located between the housing 11 and the magnetic pattern 30. It is fixed to the housing 11. That is, the magnetic module 21 constitutes a part of the housing 11, and the magnetic sensor 20 included in the magnetic module 21 is attached to the housing 11 as a member used for a part of the housing 11.
- Each magnetic sensor 20 can also receive a magnetic signal from the magnetic pattern 30. Specifically, by reading a magnetic signal from the n-bit coarse adjustment magnetic pattern 31 by n magnetic sensors 20 provided on the coarse adjustment magnetic pattern 31, the absolute coordinates of the rack 10 are measured in millimeters (mm). ) Can be measured on the order. Further, by reading the magnetic periodic signal (trigonometric function wavelength) from the fine magnetic pattern 32 by the plurality of magnetic sensors 20 provided on the fine magnetic pattern 32, the relative movement of the rack 10 in the coarse magnetic pattern 31 is achieved. Coordinates can be measured on the order of micrometers ( ⁇ m).
- the magnetic pattern 30 and the plurality of magnetic sensors 20 form a magnetic linear absolute encoder in the steering device 1. Therefore, in the present embodiment, the absolute coordinates of the rack 10 in the X direction can be measured with high accuracy, and the angle of the wheel 3 can be detected with high accuracy from the result. That is, in the present embodiment, the performance of the steering device 1 can be improved.
- the rack 10 has a substantially columnar structure, but the rack 10 is processed at the portion where the rack 10 is connected to the shaft 13. , A plurality of rack teeth 10G are formed.
- the rack 10 has a flat portion 10a and a curved portion 10b in a region other than the region where the plurality of rack teeth 10G are formed.
- the magnetic pattern 30 when the magnetic pattern 30 is formed over the flat portion 10a and the curved portion 10b, the direction and magnetic force of the magnetic force lines generated from the magnetic pattern 30 vary, and the magnetic sensor 20 cannot correctly detect the magnetic signal. There is a fear.
- the magnetic pattern 30 including the coarse magnetic pattern 31 and the fine magnetic pattern 32 is formed on the flat portion 10 a of the rack 10, and the curved portion 10 b of the rack 10 is formed. Not formed on. Therefore, the above fear can be suppressed. That is, it is desirable that the entire magnetic pattern 30 be formed on the flat portion 10 a of the rack 10.
- FIG. 6 is a schematic diagram showing an example in which the magnetic sensor 20 receives a magnetic signal from the magnetic pattern 30.
- a magnetic signal from the coarsely-adjusted magnetic pattern 31 composed of a 7-bit M-sequence code is read by the seven magnetic sensors 20 will be described.
- the inventors of the present application have noticed that when the magnetic sensor 20 is out of order, the output signal from the magnetic sensor 20 is often fixed at 0 or 1 value. In the following description, it is assumed that one of two different output signals from the magnetic sensor 20 has a 0 value and the other has a 1 value. If the magnetic sensor 20 is a sensor such as a Hall switch, one value or -1 value is output as an output signal. Here, one of the 1 value and the -1 value is a 0 value. Yes, and the other is one value.
- each magnetic sensor 20 receives the magnetic signals from at least one N-pole magnetic body 30N and at least one S-pole magnetic body 30S. Each magnetic sensor 20 will detect both 0 and 1 values at least once.
- each magnetic sensor 20 outputs both a 0 value and a 1 value at least once while the rack 10 moves the distance of the product of the number of bits and the bit interval of the coarsely adjusted magnetic pattern 31. Whether or not each magnetic sensor 20 is out of order is determined based on whether or not it is detected. That is, when the magnetic sensor 20 outputs both 0 value and 1 value, it is determined that the magnetic sensor 20 is normal, and when the magnetic sensor 20 outputs only either 0 value or 1 value, the The magnetic sensor 20 is determined to be defective.
- whether or not the rack 10 has moved the distance of the product of the number of bits and the bit interval of the rough magnetic pattern 31 is determined by using the output signal from another vehicle-mounted sensor attached to the vehicle.
- vehicle-mounted sensors include an angular velocity sensor, a motor angle sensor, a vehicle body position measuring camera, a GPS, and the like. With such a configuration, it is possible to detect the failure of the magnetic sensor 20 without using the magnetic sensor 20 and the semiconductor chip having the built-in coil.
- FIG. 7 is a functional block diagram for realizing position measurement of the rack 10 and failure detection of the magnetic sensor 20 in the first embodiment
- FIG. 8 is a signal waveform input/output to/from each functional block in FIG. Is shown.
- Each signal shown in FIGS. 7 and 8 is shown at a voltage level.
- Each of the converters) 57 is an electric circuit formed inside another semiconductor chip electrically connected to the magnetic sensor 20.
- Such a semiconductor chip may be mounted inside the magnetic module 21 together with the magnetic sensor 20, or may be mounted inside an ECU (Electronic Control Unit) mounted outside the magnetic module 21. Good.
- the magnetic sensor 20 receives a magnetic signal from either the N-pole magnetic body 30N or the S-pole magnetic body 30S of the rough magnetic pattern 31.
- the magnetic sensor 20 that has received the signal outputs the sensor output signal Vs to the output reader 50.
- the output reader 50 reads the value (high level V H or low level V L ) of the sensor output signal Vs according to the read clock signal CLKr. Then, the value of the read output signal Vr (high level V H , low level V L or zero level) is output from the output reader 50 to the 0/1 determiner 51.
- the 0/1 determiner 51 determines 0 value or 1 value according to the read clock signal CLKr, passes the determination result to the ADC 57 as a 0/1 determination output signal Vdig, and the ADC 57 calculates the position of the rack 10. Is done.
- the magnetic periodic signal (trigonometric function wavelength) from the fine magnetic pattern 32 is read by the plurality of magnetic sensors 20 provided on the fine magnetic pattern 32.
- the read magnetic sensor 20 outputs an output signal to the output reader 56, and this output signal is sent to the ADC 57. Then, by integrating this result with the position of the rack 10 calculated on the side of the coarse magnetic pattern 31, the relative coordinates of the rack 10 in the coarse magnetic pattern 31 can be measured.
- the above steps are mainly related to the measurement of the position of the rack 10, but the failure of the magnetic sensor 20 is detected in the following steps.
- the 0/1 judging device 51 sends the 0/1 judging output signal Vdig to the XOR judging device 53 in accordance with the read clock signal CLKr. Further, the 0/1 determiner 51 sends the determination result of 0 value or 1 value to the first register 52 as the first register input signal Vreg1_in according to the measurement start signal Ts.
- the first register 52 sends the first register output signal Vreg1_out having the value of the first register input signal Vreg1_in to the XOR determiner 53 according to the read clock signal CLKr.
- the XOR determiner 53 determines a 0 value or a 1 value from the 0/1 determination output signal Vdig and the first register output signal Vreg1_out.
- the determination result becomes 0, and the reference voltage Vss becomes the XOR determination output signal Vxor as the latch determiner 54. Is output to.
- the XOR determiner 53 when the 0/1 determination output signal Vdig and the output signal Vreg1_out of the first register are different, the determination result is 1 and the power supply voltage Vdd is the XOR determination output signal Vxor as the latch determiner. It is output to 54.
- the latch determiner 54 outputs the second register input signal Vreg2_in to the second register 55 according to the read clock signal CLKr.
- the XOR determination output signal Vxor which is a signal input to the latch determiner 54, becomes 1 value (reference voltage Vss)
- the value of the second register input signal Vreg2_in is the value of the subsequent XOR determination output signal Vxor. It is fixed to the reference voltage Vss regardless of the result of the value.
- the second register 55 reads the second register input signal Vreg2_in according to the determination end signal Te and outputs the second register output signal Vreg2_out having the value of the second register input signal Vreg2_in.
- the second register output signal Vreg2_out has a value of 1 (reference voltage Vss)
- the magnetic sensor 20 is determined to be normal
- the second register output signal Vreg2_out has a value of 0 (power supply voltage Vdd)
- the magnetic sensor is detected. 20 is determined to be abnormal.
- the determination end signal Te is a bit of the magnetic pattern 31 of which the rack 10 is rougher adjusted than when the measurement start signal Ts is output by another on-vehicle sensor such as an angular velocity sensor, a motor angle sensor, a vehicle body position measuring camera, or GPS. This is output when it is determined that the product of the number and the bit interval is moved.
- the magnetic sensor 30 having the coarsely adjusted magnetic pattern 31 and the finely adjusted magnetic pattern 32 and the magnetic sensor 20, it is possible to accurately change the position of the rack 10. Therefore, it is possible to determine whether or not there is a failure in the magnetic sensor 20 at low cost.
- the center of the magnetic pattern 30 may be aligned with the center of the magnetic module 21 in the X direction.
- the center where they coincide is shown as center 40.
- the “case where the rack 10 is located at the initial position” described here is a case where the steering wheel 12 is located at the initial position, the steering wheel 12 is not steered, and This is the case when the angle is zero degrees.
- the angle of the wheel 3 is zero degree means that the direction of the wheel 3 is roughly parallel to the Y direction and the vehicle can go straight ahead in the forward direction.
- the angle of the wheel 3 is 10 degrees means that the direction of the wheel 3 is inclined 10 degrees from the direction parallel to the Y direction.
- the state where the angle of the wheel 3 is zero degree is a state that can frequently occur when actually driving a car. Since the center 40 of the magnetic pattern 30 coincides with the center 40 of the magnetic module 21 in a state where the angle of the wheel 3 which is frequently used is zero degree, the position of the magnetic pattern 30 and the position of the magnetic module 21 are aligned with each other. Since they are close to each other, it is possible to quickly measure the change in the position of the rack 10, and it is possible to quickly detect the failure of the magnetic sensor 20.
- the center 40 of the magnetic pattern 30 and the center 40 of the magnetic module 21 do not necessarily have to coincide with each other. That is, it is sufficient that the center 40 of the magnetic pattern 30 overlaps at least a part of the magnetic module 21 in a plan view. In other words, the center 40 of the magnetic pattern 30 may overlap with the magnetic module 21 in plan view. Even in such a case, the variation in the position of the rack 10 can be quickly measured in a state where the angle of the wheel 3 that is frequently used is zero degree, and the failure of the magnetic sensor 20 can be quickly detected. ..
- the actuator may be controlled so that the rack 10 returns to the initial position even when the rack 10 is moving while the vehicle is stopped. That is, the position of the magnetic pattern 30 may be adjusted by the actuator so that the center 40 of the magnetic pattern 30 overlaps the magnetic module 21. In this case, the variation in the position of the rack 10 can be measured more quickly when the vehicle starts next time, and the failure of the magnetic sensor 20 can be detected more quickly.
- the nonmagnetic film 33 is provided between the rack 10 and the magnetic pattern 30. That is, the nonmagnetic film 33 is provided between the rack 10 and the coarse magnetic pattern 31 and between the rack 10 and the fine magnetic pattern 32.
- the non-magnetic film 33 is provided, so that when the magnetic signal generated from the magnetic pattern 30 is read by the magnetic sensor 20, The influence of the magnetic signal generated from the rack 10 can be suppressed. Therefore, for this reason, the position of the rack 10 can be measured with high accuracy.
- the non-magnetic film 33 is made of a resin material, for example, and may be a resin containing glass fiber. Since the resin containing glass fiber has a low coefficient of linear expansion, it is unlikely that the shape of the non-magnetic film 33 changes due to a change in environmental temperature. For this reason, it is possible to suppress such a problem that the shape of the magnetic pattern 30 formed on the non-magnetic film 33 varies, so that the position of the rack 10 can be measured with high accuracy.
- the resin material forming the non-magnetic film 33 may be an elastic material. In that case, even if stress is generated between the rack 10 and the magnetic pattern 30 due to the difference in the linear expansion coefficient, it is possible to prevent problems such as damage to the magnetic pattern 30.
- the sensor substrate 22 on which the magnetic sensor 20 is arranged is formed of the same resin material as the non-magnetic film 33, the sensor substrate 22 and the non-magnetic film 33 have the same linear expansion coefficient.
- the change in ambient temperature has the effect that no stress is generated between them.
- the area of the non-magnetic film 33 is larger than the area of the magnetic pattern 30.
- the coarse magnetic pattern 31 and the fine magnetic pattern 32 are provided on the non-magnetic film 33.
- the area of the non-magnetic film 33 is equal to the area of the coarse magnetic pattern 31 and the fine magnetic pattern. It is larger than the sum of the areas of the patterns 32.
- the non-magnetic film 33 is arranged so as to include the magnetic pattern 30 in a plan view. In other words, the nonmagnetic film 33 is formed between the magnetic pattern 30 and the rack 10 so that a part of the magnetic pattern 30 does not protrude from the nonmagnetic film 33 and is not formed on the rack 10. preferable.
- the rack 10 is made of a ferromagnetic material and the area of the nonmagnetic film 33 is smaller than the area of the magnetic pattern 30, the magnetic signal read from the magnetic pattern 30 by the magnetic sensor 20 is influenced by the magnetic signal generated from the rack 10. Therefore, the accuracy of detecting the position of the rack 10 may decrease. Therefore, since the area of the non-magnetic film 33 is larger than the area of the magnetic pattern 30, such a fear can be suppressed.
- the non-magnetic film 33 is not formed on the entire rack 10 but is formed on a part of the rack 10. Specifically, the nonmagnetic film 33 is not provided on the curved portion 10b of the rack 10 but is selectively provided on the flat portion 10a of the rack 10. Therefore, in the X direction, the length of the nonmagnetic film 33 is shorter than the length of the rack 10.
- the BB cross section in the second embodiment is shown in FIG. 11, but the CC cross section in the second embodiment is the same as that in FIG. 4 of the first embodiment.
- the nonmagnetic film 33 can be easily installed.
- a fixing pin 60 that penetrates the nonmagnetic film 33 and reaches the inside of the rack 10 is provided. Since the non-magnetic film 33 is fixed to the rack 10 by the fixing pin 60, distortion due to the difference between the expansion coefficient of the rack 10 and the expansion coefficient of the non-magnetic film 33 is generated even if the environmental temperature changes. Since the non-magnetic film 33 does not occur, the position of the rack 10 can be measured with higher accuracy.
- the fixing pin 60 is provided at the center 41 of the non-magnetic film 33 in the X direction, and the fixing pin 60 is not provided at both ends of the non-magnetic film 33. If the fixing pin 60 is provided at the end of the nonmagnetic film 33, it is assumed that the shape of the nonmagnetic film 33 is deformed by ⁇ L due to expansion. Since the fixing pin 60 is provided in the center 41 of the non-magnetic film 33, the change in the shape of the non-magnetic film 33 due to expansion occurs at both ends of the non-magnetic film 33, and at each end. The shape of the nonmagnetic film 33 is deformed by ⁇ L/2. Therefore, even if the nonmagnetic film 33 is deformed, the positional deviation between the magnetic pattern 30 and the magnetic sensor 20 can be minimized.
- the center 40 of the magnetic pattern 30 is the magnetic sensor 20 in the state where the position of the rack 10 that is frequently used is the initial position (the state where the angle of the wheel 3 is zero degree), the center 40 of the magnetic pattern 30 is the magnetic sensor 20. It is desirable that they overlap, and it is more desirable that the center 40 of each of the magnetic pattern 30 and the magnetic sensor 20 be coincident with the center 41 of the nonmagnetic film 33. For this reason, as in the first modification, by using the fixing pin 60, the variation in the shape of the non-magnetic film 33 near the center 41 is reduced, so that the magnetic sensor 20 further detects the magnetic signal from the magnetic pattern 30. It can be measured with high accuracy.
- the magnetic pattern 30 including the coarse magnetic pattern 31 and the fine magnetic pattern 32 is made of a non-magnetic material such that the surface of the magnetic pattern 30 facing the magnetic sensor 20 is exposed. It is embedded inside the film 33. That is, the side surfaces and the bottom surfaces of the coarse magnetic pattern 31 and the fine magnetic pattern 32 are covered with the non-magnetic film 33 so that the surfaces of the coarse magnetic pattern 31 and the fine magnetic pattern 32 are exposed. ..
- Such a structure can be manufactured by integrally molding the magnetic pattern 30 and the nonmagnetic film 33.
- a non-magnetic film 33 in which a recess is formed, burying a powdery magnetic material in the recess, and then performing heat treatment, the magnetic pattern embedded in the recess of the non-magnetic film 33. 30 can be formed. This can reduce the manufacturing cost.
- the magnetic pattern 30 of the second embodiment can be adhered as a seal on the non-magnetic film 33, for example, but in that case, the interval between the coarse magnetic pattern 31 and the fine magnetic pattern 32 can be accurately set. There is a problem that it is difficult to match. In addition, the magnetic pattern 30 thus formed has a problem that it is easily cracked. By embedding the magnetic pattern 30 in the recess of the non-magnetic film 33 as in the second modification, these problems can be suppressed as compared with the case where the magnetic pattern 30 has a seal shape.
- a vernier type pattern is used as the absolute type magnetic pattern 30.
- a vernier magnetic pattern 34 and a vernier magnetic pattern 35 are provided on the rack 10 as the magnetic pattern 30.
- the vernier magnetic pattern 34 and the vernier magnetic pattern 35 each extend in the X direction and are arranged so as to be adjacent to each other in the Y direction orthogonal to the X direction.
- N-pole magnetic bodies 30N and S-pole magnetic bodies 30S are alternately arranged, and the length L1 of the N-pole magnetic body 30N in the X direction is the S-pole magnetic body. It is equal to the length L1 of 30S.
- N-pole magnetic bodies 30N and S-pole magnetic bodies 30S are alternately arranged, and the length L2 of the N-pole magnetic body 30N in the X direction is the S-pole magnetic body. It is equal to the length L2 of 30S.
- the length L1 is different from the length L2 and is longer than the length L2.
- the magnetic signals generated from the vernier magnetic pattern 34 and the vernier magnetic pattern 35 have wavelengths of different lengths and are measured by the magnetic sensor 20. Then, the position to which the rack 10 has moved can be obtained from the difference in the phase of the wavelength of the magnetic signal measured by each magnetic sensor 20. With such a configuration using the vernier magnetic pattern 30, the position of the rack 10 can be measured with high accuracy, and the failure of the magnetic sensor 20 can be detected.
