Abstract
Exemplary embodiments of the invention relate to a communication system, comprising a data transmitter and a data receiver, wherein: in order to transfer payload data, a plurality of channel-coded data packets are produced from the payload data; each of the channel-coded data packets has packet core data, which are coded with a channel code of higher redundancy than the payload data; the plurality of channel-coded data packets is transferred in a time interval (T); time distances and/or frequency distances between the channel-coded data packets are known to or can be determined by both the data transmitter and the data receiver, such that the data receiver, in the case of failure of error-free decoding of a channel-coded data packet, can determine an additional channel-coded data packet on the basis of the known or determined time distances and/or frequency distances, in order to obtain, by means of a combination of the channel-coded data packet and the additional channel-coded data packet, an increased coding gain for decoding of the payload data.
