Description
“REVERSE COMMODE”
FIELD OF INVENTION: The present invention relates to a reverse commode which provides needful support, features and attachments for the user, wherein the user may be a person of any age group or any person such as a geriatric suffering from Amnesia, working men, working and non-working women and students requiring revision prior to examination and others needing effective use of toilet time for multi-tasking.
BACKGROUND & PRIOR ARTS:
Ever since earliest mode of commode has been invented, whether it is a squat commode as originated in Italy and presently widely used in rural India or a commode which is called“western style commode” in India, all commodes have been designed to face blank open space inside the toilet with the flush tank on the backside and the drainage plumbing directed towards the backside wall.
Over the years, while there has been sophistication in design of the commode and improvements and modifications to provide better seating /sitting comfort to the user, the direction of the commode inside the toilet has always been facing the open space and the wall with the flush tank on the back of the user. As on date, sensor based and digitally timed and temperature-controlled commode seats and sensor based flushing arrangements are available, though these are in limited use, of high cost and hence less affordable, to the public at large.
Over the years, the lifestyle and the demand for effective use of time in urban population and need for improved hygiene through flushing of the toilet even by aged users with memory loss has become a priority, where electronic/ digital/ sensor based automatic flushing is not available/ affordable. For urban working class and
high demand show-business personalities in the visual media, time spent on the commode is also better utilized if the commode is designed differently.
The present invention is directed towards meeting these needs and also for providing parallel use of time productively and effectively, both for regular commodes as well as squat commodes.
Over the years, there have been isolated attempts to modify commodes. Enhanced function for handicapped users has been dealt with in US6324705, US5996133, US5329645 and US4777671 patents. Patents US6814719, US4937890, US4815151, US4681573, US4023216, US3964111 had been designed for the benefit of female urinary system, including the granted patent US7458110.
“Elder Care in Occupational Therapy”- book by Sandra Cutler Lewis, page no. 260 has recommended use of support for elderly on toilet commodes which may be fitted with armrests or levator to help elderly persons and patients, to support and help during the use of the commode.
However, there have been no innovation in the design of the toilet commodes or improvements for providing consumer benefits in terms of utilization of time, comfort and utility.
SUMMARY OF INVENTION:
The present invention discloses a reverse (toilet) commode with added benefits for multi-tasking.
Accordingly, the present invention discloses a reverse (toilet) commode with added benefits for multi-tasking that provides breakthrough benefits to a person of any age group or any person such as a geriatric patient suffering from Amnesia, working men, working and non-working women as well as students during examination
through effective use of time spent on a toilet commode voluntarily or due to medical reasons. While the present toilet commodes are facing open space with the flush tank which is located to the back of the commode, elderly patients with Amnesia and a large segment of population with short memory or memory loss, walk away without pulling the flush since the flush is located at the back of the user.
In the current times, with increasing demand on time, busy men and women executives, students and working women, models and actors in visual media need to do multi-task while in the toilet. For urban working class and high demand show- business personalities in the visual media, time spent on the commode is also better utilized if the commode is designed differently. A reverse commode facing the flush-tank and the wall fitted with the amenities that an individual user may require to use parallelly, will help the user of all ages effectively and beneficially to use the time spent on a commode seat.
The present inventor has designed a commode facing the flush tank and the utilities located on top of the flush-tank/ on the wall including handles and fixtures for elderly to support and exert pressure, or other need-based utilities.

Description of reference numerals in the figures displayed are as follows:
The present invention discloses a reverse toilet commode with added benefits for multi-tasking. Accordingly, the present invention discloses a reverse toilet commode with added benefits for multi-tasking that provides breakthrough benefits to a person of any age group or any person such as a geriatric patient suffering from Amnesia, working men, working and non-working women as well as students during examination through effective use of time spent on a toilet commode voluntarily or due to medical reasons.
While the present toilet commodes are facing open space with the flush tank in the back, elderly patients with Amnesia and a large segment of population with short
memory or memory loss walk away without pulling the flush since the flush is in a way back of the user.
In the current times with increasing demand of time, busy men and women executives, students and working women, models and actors in visual media need to do multi-task while in the bathroom and toilet. A reverse commode facing the flush-tank and the wall fitted with the amenities that an individual user may require and will help the user of all ages effectively and beneficially to use the time spent on a commode seat.
The reverse toilet commode useful for multi-tasking with added benefits and effectively utilizing the time spent on the toilet commode, for any person such as working men, working and non-working women, students as well as geriatric patient suffering from Amnesia, wherein the commode is reverse facing the wall or similar, the said commode comprising a toilet pan/bowl (1), a flush tank (2), a seat cover (3), a plurality of handles and fixtures for support (4), a utility rack (5), an LCD screen stand (6), a flushing lever (7), and an innovatively designed reverse drainage plumbing system (8) and a reverse drainage hole (9).
In an embodiment, the flush-tank (2) of the reverse commode may be built-in on the wall wherein, the additional space available in case of built-in flush-tank can be utilized for extra/added utilities thereof.
It may be noted that the commode type of the present invention may be a squat commode (Italian commode) as in Fig. 1 to 3, or a regular (western) commode as in Fig. 4 to 5.
It may be further noted that the reverse drainage plumbing system (8) is innovatively designed in a way that the drainage hole (9) is hidden from the user’s sight.
In both forms of reverse commode, a prominent sign“FLUSH” may be affixed to remind the Amnesia patients and persons with short memory as a visual reminder before exiting, aiding better sanitation.
In an optional embodiment, the utilities and fixtures of the reverse commode may include handles and fixtures for elderly person to support and exert pressure.
In a squat style reverse commode or a western style reverse commode, where the wall is blank because the flush is concealed or on top of the loft, the user has a much larger wall for affixing like amenities and utilities of the user’s choice.
In other embodiments, the utilities and fixtures on the wall or on top of the flush may be selected from needful accessories such as mobile stand, laptop stand, TV monitor, Newspaper holding clip or support, a bookstand, mirror with cosmetic kit for women, or any other utility which may enable the user to effectively engage while using the commode.
In another embodiment, the fitting can be made non-obstructing by providing a distance from the flush tank (2) with only the reverse drainage (8) pipe in the middle and the distance from the flush tank (2) to commode extending to provide a convenient sitting posture, without stress on the angle of spread, on the legs.
The figures, descriptions and the embodiments described herein are only for demonstration. It is to be understood that the above description is intended to be illustrative and not restrictive. Many embodiments will be apparent to a person skilled in the art upon reviewing the description. The scope of the invention should therefore, be determined not with reference to the above description, but instead should be determined with reference to the claims, along with the full scope of equivalents to which such claims are entitled.
