Description
- The present invention relates to a reverse commode which provides needful support, features and attachments for the user, wherein the user may be a person of any age group or any person such as a geriatric suffering from Amnesia, working men, working and non-working women and students requiring revision prior to examination and others needing effective use of toilet time for multi-tasking.
- Ever since earliest mode of commode has been invented, whether it is a squat commode as originated in Italy and presently widely used in rural India or a commode which is called “western style commode” in India, all commodes have been designed to face blank open space inside the toilet with the flush tank on the backside and the drainage plumbing directed towards the backside wall.
- Over the years, while there has been sophistication in design of the commode and improvements and modifications to provide better seating/sitting comfort to the user, the direction of the commode inside the toilet has always been facing the open space and the wall with the flush tank on the back of the user. As on date, sensor based and digitally timed and temperature-controlled commode seats and sensor based flushing arrangements are available, though these are in limited use, of high cost and hence less affordable, to the public at large.
- Over the years, the lifestyle and the demand for effective use of time in urban population and need for improved hygiene through flushing of the toilet even by aged users with memory loss has become a priority, where electronic/digital/sensor based automatic flushing is not available/affordable. For urban working class and high demand show-business personalities in the visual media, time spent on the commode is also better utilized if the commode is designed differently.
- The present invention is directed towards meeting these needs and also for providing parallel use of time productively and effectively, both for regular commodes as well as squat commodes.
- Over the years, there have been isolated attempts to modify commodes. Enhanced function for handicapped users has been dealt with in U.S. Pat. Nos. 6,324,705, 5,996,133, 5,329,645 and 4,777,671. U.S. Pat. Nos. 6,814,719, 4,937,890, 4,815,151, 4,681,573, 4,023,216, 3,964,111 had been designed for the benefit of female urinary system, including the granted U.S. Pat. No. 7,458,110.
- “Elder Care in Occupational Therapy”—book by Sandra Cutler Lewis, page no. 260 has recommended use of support for elderly on toilet commodes which may be fitted with armrests or elevator to help elderly persons and patients, to support and help during the use of the commode.
- However, there have been no innovation in the design of the toilet commodes or improvements for providing consumer benefits in terms of utilization of time, comfort and utility.
- The present invention discloses a reverse (toilet) commode with added benefits for multi-tasking.
- Accordingly, the present invention discloses a reverse (toilet) commode with added benefits for multi-tasking that provides breakthrough benefits to a person of any age group or any person such as a geriatric patient suffering from Amnesia, working men, working and non-working women as well as students during examination through effective use of time spent on a toilet commode voluntarily or due to medical reasons. While the present toilet commodes are facing open space with the flush tank which is located to the back of the commode, elderly patients with Amnesia and a large segment of population with short memory or memory loss, walk away without pulling the flush since the flush is located at the back of the user.
- In the current times, with increasing demand on time, busy men and women executives, students and working women, models and actors in visual media need to do multi-task while in the toilet. For urban working class and high demand show-business personalities in the visual media, time spent on the commode is also better utilized if the commode is designed differently. A reverse commode facing the flush-tank and the wall fitted with the amenities that an individual user may require to use parallelly, will help the user of all ages effectively and beneficially to use the time spent on a commode seat.
- The present inventor has designed a commode facing the flush tank and the utilities located on top of the flush-tank/on the wall including handles and fixtures for elderly to support and exert pressure, or other need-based utilities.

In various embodiments, the flush tank is built-in on the wall or is affixed on the wall.
- The utility rack may include a utility selected from the group consisting of a mobile stand, a laptop stand, a TV monitor, a newspaper-holding clip or support, a bookstand, a mirror with a cosmetic kit, or a combination thereof.
- In various embodiments, the commode has a reverse squat seating style or a reverse western seating style.
- The commode may be configured to allow a user to effectively utilize the time spent on the toilet commode, or be is configured for use by a geriatric user or a user with amnesia.
- Various embodiments disclosed herein relate to a reverse toilet commode, wherein the commode is reverse facing a wall, the commode comprising a toilet pan/bowl, a flush tank, a seat cover, a plurality of handles and fixtures for support, a utility rack, a stand configured to support a video screen, a control configured to flush the commode, a reverse drainage plumbing system, and a reverse drainage hole.
