Abstract

The invention discloses a barbeque arrangement, which includes at least one horizontal combustion chamber and at least one vertical combustion chamber, the horizontal combustion chamber and the vertical combustion chamber being adapted to provide instantaneous heat to cook food immediately. The horizontal combustion chamber is located above the vertical combustion chamber. The arrangement includes supporting legs to support the vertical combustion chamber and which are hollow to allow oxygen to flow through the supporting legs to supply oxygen to the vertical combustion chamber and/or the horizontal combustion chamber.

Description

BARBEQUE ARRANGEMENT
FIELD OF INVENTION
The present invention relates to a barbeque arrangement.
More particularly, the present invention relates to a barbeque arrangement for cooking of any kind such as BBQ, braai, fry, grill, smoke preferably outdoors with combustible material such as wood, charcoal and/or biomass.
BACKGROUND TO INVENTION
Barbecue or barbeque (informally BBQ or Barbie or braai) is a cooking method, a style of food cooking, and a name for a meal or gathering at which this style of food is cooked and served.
Barbecue can refer to the cooking method itself, the meat cooked this way, the cooking apparatus/machine used (the "barbecue grill" or simply "barbecue"), or to a type of social event featuring this type of cooking. Barbecuing is usually done outdoors by cooking/smoking the meat over wood or charcoal. Restaurant barbecues may be cooked in large, specially-designed brick or metal ovens. Barbecue is practiced in many areas of the world and there are numerous regional variations.
Barbecuing techniques include smoking, roasting or baking, braising and grilling. The original technique is cooking using smoke at low temperatures and long cooking times (several hours). Baking uses an oven to convection cook with moderate temperatures for an average cooking time of about an hour. Braising combines direct, dry heat charbroiling on a ribbed surface with a broth-filled pot for moist heat. Grilling is done over direct, dry heat, usually over a hot fire for a few minutes.
The problem with the known barbeque techniques and arrangements are that it takes a while before food can actually be cooked and/or meat grilled. The reason being that conventional biomass combustion takes quite a while before the coals are suitable for cooking.
It is an object of the invention to suggest a barbeque arrangement which will assist in overcoming the aforementioned problems and providing instantaneous heat and to enable immediate cooking.
SUMMARY OF INVENTION
According to the invention, a barbeque arrangement includes at least one or more horizontal combustion chamber and at least one or more vertical combustion chamber, the horizontal combustion chamber and the vertical combustion chamber being adapted to provide instantaneous heat to cook food immediately.
The horizontal combustion chamber may be located above the vertical combustion chamber or can function separately.
The barbeque arrangement may include supporting legs to support the vertical combustion chamber. The supporting legs may be hollow to allow oxygen to flow through the supporting legs to supply oxygen to the vertical combustion chamber and/or the horizontal combustion chamber.
The barbeque arrangement may be adapted to operate on wood, charcoal and/or biomass or various combinations thereof.
The barbeque arrangement may include at least one horizontal heating platform adapted to enable cooking of food thereon and/or be adapted to support cooking utensils such as cooking pots and/or pans and/or grills.
The horizontal heating platform may have any shape.
The horizontal combustion chamber and/or vertical combustion chamber may have any shape.
The horizontal combustion chamber and/or the vertical combustion chamber may be tubular or round or any other shape or size.
The barbeque arrangement may include one or two or more horizontal heating platforms.
The barbeque arrangement may include at least one or more feeding inlet adapted to insert wood, charcoal and/or biomass into the vertical combustion chamber.
The vertical combustion chamber may include a grid at the bottom adapted to allow ashes to fall down and out of the vertical combustion chamber. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS
Referring to the drawings, barbeque arrangements, generally indicated by reference numeral 10, in accordance with four different embodiments of the invention are shown. The barbeque arrangements 10 include at least one horizontal combustion chamber 12 and at least one vertical combustion chamber 14, the horizontal combustion chamber 12 and the vertical combustion chamber 14 are adapted to provide instantaneous heat to cook food immediately.
The horizontal combustion chamber 12 is located above the vertical combustion chamber 14.
The barbeque arrangement 10 includes supporting legs 16 to support the vertical combustion chamber 14.
The supporting legs 16 are hollow to allow oxygen to flow through the supporting legs 16 to supply oxygen to the vertical combustion chamber 14. and/or the horizontal combustion chamber 12.
The barbeque arrangement 10 is adapted to operate on wood, charcoal and/or biomass.
The barbeque arrangement 10 includes at least one horizontal heating platform 30 adapted to enable cooking of food thereon and/or be adapted to support cooking utensils such as cooking pots and/or pans and/or grills.
The horizontal heating platform 30 can have any shape.

(a) The lid can be used as a wok (upside down), bowl or just to cover the kettle.
(b) The lid is lockable lid to enable the barbeque arrangement to be more portable with rotatable plate and grid inside.
(c) Side handles are provided on the kettle lid to make it easy to carry.
(d) Rotatable plate and grid with adjustable height control is provided to make it more versatile with different BBQ techniques and recipes. (e) A kettle is attached to vertical tubular combustion with common benefits for all three models.
(f) Detachable from vertical tube to ease portability.
(g) Vertical tube is provided with separate biomass feeder closable door.
(h) Vertical tube can function separately, even as giant candle for functions, outdoor events.
(i) Unique oxygen vent stands to ensure enough airflow.
(j) Vertical tube with stands allows for higher ground clearance to avoid dust and sand blowing onto food.
Figure 2 shows a front view of a barbeque arrangement according to a second embodiment of the invention. Unique features of this embodiment include the following:
(a) All the unique features of vertical and horizontal biomass combustion combined.
(b) All unique features of the first embodiment but the grill/BBQ part cannot be removed from the vertical tube.
(c) Unique square configuration that ensures strength and unlikely to dent.
(d) Flip over attached lid for easy access to feed biomass.
(e) Compact one portable piece that are built with stronger durability.
(f) Simple light unit ideal for couples camping or even African economical cooking.
Figure 3 shows a front view of a barbeque arrangement according to a third embodiment of the invention. Unique features of this embodiment include the following:
(a) All the unique features of vertical and horizontal biomass combustion combined. (b) All unique features of the first embodiment but the grill/BBQ part cannot be removed from the vertical tube.
(c) Both grids for ashes can be flipped so direct feeding of wood can be possible to increase flames.
(d) All the unique features of the second embodiment.
(e) Double head, or double cooker that makes cooking extremely versatile.
(f) Detachable horizontal cookers with handles to make it very portable.
(g) Detaching the grills/BBQ’s can function as a double candle for functions and outdoor activities.
Figure 4 shows a front view of a barbeque arrangement according to a fourth embodiment of the invention. Unique features of this embodiment include the following:
(a) Round design like that of kettle grills.
(b) All the unique features of vertical and horizontal biomass combustion combined.
(c) All unique features of the first embodiment but the grill/BBQ part cannot be removed from the vertical tube.
(d) Both grids for ashes can be flipped so direct feeding of wood can be possible to increase flames.
(e) All the unique features of the second embodiment.
(f) Double head, or double cooker that makes cooking extremely versatile.
(g) Detachable horizontal cookers with handles to make it very portable.
(h) Detaching the grills/BBQ’s can function as a double candle for functions and outdoor activities. The barbeque arrangement 10 according to the invention thus provides for an economical, fast and versatile portable barbeque arrangement.
The barbeque arrangement 10 according to the invention is the first in the world where any number of horizontal combustions on a platform of any kind or shape is combined and with any number of vertical tubular combustion of any kind or shape, rigid or collapsible for the purpose of outdoor braai/BBQ/cook/fry/potjie or stir-fry with biomass.

The barbeque arrangement 10 is also adapted to function as a candle before and after food preparation.
The vertical combustion chamber is must faster with ignition and getting started with either grill or cook.
Once vertical tubular combustion takes off it lights up and speeds up the horizontal combustion.
The two together compliments each other and provides a much faster start, faster combustion and higher heat with less biomass that makes it more economical.
Other advantages include: (a) More economical means less grill/BBQ time that results in less greenhouse gasses produced in the atmosphere.
(b) Very practical for rural areas where there are less biomass available and food can even be prepared with“sticks”, twigs and/or fire starter wood.
(c) Vertical tubular combustion is based on canalising oxygen and heat upwards.
(d) Adding upwards burning in a tube creates a strong suction of oxygen from bottom upwards that intensify the combustion.
(e) Enough inlets at the bottom for oxygen allows the flames to increase that intensify the heat even more at the top.
(f) Fire starters with just few firelighters ensure rapid start of fire with braai within one minute.
(g) The key here is 2-3 pieces of fire starters provide flames for minutes where the biomass are burning all together at once which makes it more cost effective/economical.
(h) With the biomass feeding inlet amount of heat can be controlled, depending what is to be cooked or grilled.
(i) The flannel spreads the (horizontally) top heat, allow larger grill/cook/potjie heat.
(j) The bottom grid for ashes to fall through from grillers/BBQ can flip so that wood can directly fed down to increase flames.
(k) Adjustable plate and grid allows for further control of heat on food.
(L) The upside down lid is probably first of kind, can be used to cook, fry or keep food warm on the side while other food are getting prepared. Or simply as a salad bowl or to close lid to allow a weber effect on chicken, fish or lamb casserole.
The barbeque arrangement according to the invention thus provides for an outdoor cooking arrangement designed especially for household woman’s desire to speed up any kind of cooking especially when time is limited for children to go to bed.
It also reflects more economical outdoor cooking with much less biomass but more heat generated efficiency that results in less greenhouse gas production.
The arrangement is so versatile that by just using the vertical combustion chamber with few fires starters heat up water for coffee/tea in a few minutes or just any other ingredient that require a quick warm up.
The barbeque arrangement can even be used by people in rural areas without electricity as the economically affordable barbeque arrangement according to the invention is adapted to heat up water for cleaning or washing purposes.
In rural areas the vertical combustion chamber can be enlarged to accommodate larger containers to heat up for different domestic purposes like the need for warm water or milk for infants.
With being economical and generating less greenhouse gasses which we are faced with global warming this barbeque arrangement can significantly reduce the speed of global warming by utilising less biomass, better for conservation and being very affordable.

Claims

PATENT CLAIMS
1 . A barbeque arrangement, which includes at least one horizontal combustion chamber and at least one vertical combustion chamber, the horizontal combustion chamber and the vertical combustion chamber being adapted to provide instantaneous heat to cook food immediately.
2. An arrangement as claimed in claim 1 , in which the horizontal combustion chamber is located above the vertical combustion chamber.
3. An arrangement as claimed in claim 1 or claim 2, which includes supporting legs to support the vertical combustion chamber.
4. An arrangement as claimed in claim 3, in which the supporting legs are hollow to allow oxygen to flow through the supporting legs to supply oxygen to the vertical combustion chamber and/or the horizontal combustion chamber.
5. An arrangement as claimed in any one of the preceding claims, which is adapted to operate on wood, charcoal and/or biomass.
6. An arrangement as claimed in any one of the preceding claims, which includes at least one horizontal heating platform adapted to enable cooking of food thereon and/or be adapted to support cooking utensils such as cooking pots and/or pans and/or grills.
7. An arrangement as claimed in claim 6, in which the horizontal heating platform has any shape.
8. An arrangement as claimed in any one of the preceding claims, in which the horizontal combustion chamber and/or vertical combustion chamber have any shape.
9. An arrangement as claimed in any one of the preceding claims, in which the horizontal combustion chamber and/or the vertical combustion chamber are tubular.
10. An arrangement as claimed in any one of the preceding claims, which includes one or two horizontal heating platforms.
1 1. An arrangement as claimed in any one of the preceding claims, which includes at least one feeding inlet adapted to insert wood, charcoal and/or biomass into the vertical combustion chamber.
12. An arrangement as claimed in any one of the preceding claims, in which the vertical combustion chamber includes a grid at the bottom to adapted to allow ashes to fall down and out of the vertical combustion chamber.
13. An arrangement as claimed in any one of the preceding claims, which includes a flannel at the top of the vertical combustion chamber adapted to spread and heat from the vertical combustion chamber to the horizontal combustion chamber.
14. An arrangement as claimed in any one of the preceding claims, which includes a horizontal heating platform which is a barbeque grid.
15. An arrangement as claimed in any one of the preceding claims, which includes a horizontal heating platform which is removable and replaceable with a conventional barbeque grid.
16. An arrangement as claimed in any one of the preceding claims, which includes a horizontal heating platform and in which the distance of the horizontal heating platform from the horizontal combustion chamber and/or the vertical combustion chamber is adjustable.
17. An arrangement as claimed in any one of the preceding claims, which includes a horizontal heating platform which is rotatable.
18. An arrangement as claimed in any one of the preceding claims, which is made of metal, stainless steel and/or any other suitable material.
19. An arrangement as claimed in any one of the preceding claims, which is square or round.
20. An arrangement as claimed in any one of the preceding claims, which is painted, epoxy-coated or left untreated.
21 . An arrangement as claimed in any one of the preceding claims, which includes a lid.
22. An arrangement as claimed in claim 21 , in which the lid is lockable.
23. An arrangement as claimed in any one of the preceding claims, which is portable.
24. An arrangement as claimed in any one of the preceding claims, which includes handles adapted to allow a user to carry the barbeque arrangement.
25. An arrangement as claimed in any one of the preceding claims, which is adapted to cook food without having to wait for hot coals as heat is instantly generated by means of the vertical combustion chamber.
26. An arrangement as claimed in any one of the preceding claims, which is adapted to function as a candle before and after food preparation.
27. A barbeque arrangement substantially as hereinbefore described with reference to the accompanying drawing.
