  • the method includes adhering a fastener having a first adhering face to at least a portion of the slant surface, the fastener having a second adhering face opposite the first adhering surface and configured to attach repositionably to a first structural panel.
  • a decorative contour surface is connected at an edge to one of the first coplanar surface and the second coplanar surface. The decorative surface is generally opposite the rear surface (or adhering surface) of the elongated body, so that the decorative surface is visible upon installation.

  • each elongated body has a longitudinal axis, a first planar surface extending longitudinally; a second planar surface extending longitudinally, the second planar surface coplanar with the first planar surface, and an angled cutout extending longitudinally and disposed between the first planar surface and the second planar surface, the angled cutout including a slant surface extending longitudinally, the slant surface arranged inwardly at an acute angle with respect to a line orthogonal to the longitudinal axis and coplanar with the first and second planar surfaces.
  • the method 1000 includes positioning, relative to a structural panel, a first contact surface of a second adhering face, opposite the first adhering face, to attach the elongated body repositionably to a first structural panel and applying a first pressure.
  • the first pressure may be any amount of pressure suitable to cause the elongated body to stay in place without pushing the rear side of the elongated body against the structural panel, so that the elongated body can be removed from the structural panel by hand, to facilitate repositioning.
  • the compressibility of the non-mechanical fastener can be configured so as to require any desired amount of pressure to compress the fastener enough to bring the rear side (e.g., the planar surfaces) into a final position adjacent a structural panel, thus also facilitating configuration of the amount of pressure to be applied as the first pressure.
  • the elongated body may be provided with a protective cover disposed over the second adhering face that must be removed by the installer to expose the second adhering face, prior to installation.
  • the first contact surface may be released and repositioned as needed. Block 1030 may be repeated as needed until the installer is satisfied with the positioning of elongated body.
  • the method 1000 includes securing the elongated body of the repositionable decorative building molding system by applying a second pressure to secure a second contact surface of the second adhering face to the first structural panel, where the second pressure is greater than the first pressure.
  • the method 1000 includes adhering a final contact surface of the second adhering surface of the fastener to the structural panel with a final pressure, where the final pressure is greater than the second pressure.

Abstract

La présente invention concerne d'une manière générale des systèmes de construction décoratifs repositionnables destinés à être fixés à des panneaux structurels. En particulier, la présente invention concerne un corps allongé ayant des première et seconde surfaces planes, coplanaires l'une par rapport à l'autre, et une découpe inclinée s'étendant longitudinalement et disposée entre les première et seconde surfaces planes. La découpe inclinée comprend une surface inclinée s'étendant longitudinalement. La surface inclinée est disposée vers l'intérieur selon un angle aigu par rapport à une ligne, la ligne étant orthogonale à l'axe longitudinal et colinéaire avec les première et seconde surfaces planes. Le système comprend en outre un élément de fixation non mécanique ayant une première face d'adhérence fixée de manière fixe à au moins une partie de la surface inclinée et une seconde face d'adhérence opposée à la première face d'adhérence. L'élément de fixation non mécanique a en outre une épaisseur, l'épaisseur croisant la ligne.
