Definitions
- the present invention relates to a joint arrangement according to the introductory portion of the independent claim.
- An object of the invention is therefore to provide a joint arrangement which give a lesser degree of play than joint arrangements according to the art
- the invention relates to a joint arrangement for joining a male element 1 with a female element 2.
- the male element 1 comprises a male part 4a-b and the female element 2 comprises a female part 6a-b, and where the female part is embodied to receive parts of the male part in its interior.
- the male part 4a-b comprises at least a first male part 4a and a second male part 4b extending from the male element 1.
- at least one male part 4a-b is provided with a recess 3a-b embodied to receive a separation element 7.
- the separation element is embodied such that it forces apart the at least first and second male parts, when the separation element 7 has been introduced into the recess 3a-b. This advantageously locks the male part 4a-b in place in the female part 6a-b through the action of the separation element 7.
- the male part 4a-b comprises at least one hook part 5a-b, embodied to engage a corresponding reception part 6a-b on the female part.
- the at least one hook part 5a-b is arranged on the exterior side of the male part 4a-b and extends outwards from it.
- the male element 1 and the female element 2 are constituted by elongated profiles. The male part 4a-b and the female part 6a-b will the join together the male element 1 and the female element 2 along their full lengths.
- Fig. 1 shows an embodiment of the invention in a separated state
- Fig. 2 shows the embodiment in a joined state
- Fig. 3 shows the embodiment in a joined and locked state
- the invention relates to a way of joining and locking together elements and this is exemplified with an embodiment where two strips are to be joined and locked together.
- the strips are in the figures seen from their butt ends to clarify how the joining and locking together works
- Fig. 1 shows an embodiment of the invention in a separated state, that is with a male strip 1 above separated from a female strip illustrated below.
- the female strip has, on the upper surface that faces the male strip, a recess with edge elements 6-b that extend into the recess.
- the male strip has one pair of joining elements 4a-b that extend from the male strip towards the female strip.
- the joining elements are at their outer ends provided with hook shaped elements 5a-b, arranged on the side of respective joining element that faces away from the other joining element, so they are arranged on the outer sides of the joining element pair 4a-b.
- the hook shaped elements 5a-b are V-shaped with the pointy edge downwards and are steeply angled towards the outer sides of the joining elements 4a-b at their upper end.
- distances are provided 8a-b that extend in parallel with the joining elements in the direction of the female element.
- the distances 8a-b define how close to each other the female and male element may come and this distance is selected such that the joining elements 4a-b reach so far into the recess of the female element that the hook shaped elements 5a-b engage the edge elements 6a-b in the recess of the female element.
- Fig. 2 shows the embodiment in a joined state. Where thus the joining elements 4a-b have been pushed into the recess of the female element and the hook shaped elements 5a-b grasp the edge elements 6a-b.
- the distances 8a-b on the male strip have just reached the upper surface of the female strip.
- the distances on the male strip should just reach the upper surface of the female strip when the hook shaped elements 5a-b grasp the edge elements 6a-b, but this requires a high degree of precision during manufacture.
- the distances are allowed to be shorter than optimal by a very small amount, and the joining elements 4a-b are instead forced into the female element by making use of that the male and female strips are somewhat resilient.
- the hook shaped elements 5a-b grasp the edge elements 6a-b, the male and female strips are tensioned towards each other, resulting in that play is prevented.
- recesses 3a-b are provide that extend outwardly.
- the recesses are shaped like segments of a circle and jointly forms part of a broken circle.
- An in cross section circular element can be pushed into the opening that formed by what in a cross section is a broken circle and will then be held in place by the recesses. If this circular element has a diameter which is larger than the diameter of the broken circle, the joining elements 4a-b will be forced outwardly and it is then held fast in the recess in the female strip.
- Fig. 3 shows the embodiment in a joined and locked state, where a circular element 7 with a diameter somewhat larger than the diameter of the broken circle has been forced into the opening formed between the pair of joining elements.
- the joining elements 4a-b are thus forced apart and rest with pressure against the edge elements 6a-b.
- the upper edges of the hook shaped elements 5a-b are angled inwards towards the joining elements, but do in the illustrated embodiment not extend at a right angle from these, so by forcing the joining elements outwards into the recess in the female strip, the female and male strips are forced together and this acts to further reduce play between these.
- the presented embodiment obviously only constitute an example, and many variations of the invention may be conceived.
- the presented embodiment is exemplified with two strips that are to be locked together and this is reasonable as the joining elements fits well along a track that extends lengthwise. Then producing the entire element as an elongated element with the same cross section along its length is effective.
- the pair of joining elements may leave a space for an element that is not elongated with the same cross section along its length, but instead leave a space for a ball.
- the joining elements may also instead of engaging an edge element 6a-b in an elongated track, engage with edge elements in for example a circular opening.
- the male strip comprises distances 8a-b that define the distance between the male strip and the female strip, but obviously these may instead be provided on the female part. If the engagement between the hook shaped elements 5a-b and the edge elements 6a- b is shifted further into the female strip, the distances 8a-b may be eliminated altogether, as long as some kind of stop element limits how far in the joining elements may be introduced into the corresponding female part.
- the recesses are shaped like segments of a circle and jointly form part of a broken circle, but obviously it may have any other shape. It is in principle sufficient with a recess on the inner side of only one of the joining elements, that is the side facing the other joining element.
- the element intended to be introduced between the recesses 3a-b may preferably be conical in order to facilitate introduction, but it does not have to have a circular cross section, and may have any shape, even though it is optimal if it has a shape that matches the opening formed between the recesses 3a-b.
