In this purification therapy different kinds of oils and herbal liquids are applied on human body; to remove waste/ toxin different fluids are extracted from the body for cleansing of body. Such excess waste/toxin may in turn cause various kinds of diseases.
  • Various kinds of treatments are suggested for different health problems. Currently for inspection of patient and for number of treatment process one bed like table is available where patient lies down on it. Many natural therapist and Ayurveda practitioners are using this type of table for treatment of patients. These tables are bulky and required more floor space.
  • Swedana is the process of inducing sweat with the help of steam, generated from medicinal herbal decoction. It is preoperative procedure in various ayurvedic toxin removing therapies where the objective is to dialect the channel of body to detach the toxins from tissues of patients body. Generally swedana procedures are followed after massage process. In Swedana process oil or medicinal herbal liquids are gently applied on a human body. Herbs are selected depending on condition of the disease and predominance.

Description

TITLE : ALL IN ONE PANCHKARMA AND SWEDAN (STEAM BATH ) TREATMENT TABLE
FIELD OF INVENTION: The present invention relates to field of Ayurvedic health care equipments. Particularly it relates to advancement of massage table which facilitates easy and recommended therapy or treatment for patients; more particularly the invention relates to single massage and treatment table which can be used for all the Panchkarma treatments practiced under Ayurveda in traditional way. BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION:
Panchakarma is a fivefold detoxification treatment involving massage, herbal therapy, and other procedures. It is considered as most important procedure in case of treating any ailment. Ayurveda advises undergoing Panchakarma at the seasonal changes to keep both the metabolism strong and keep toxins from accumulating in the body as well as in the mind. The process finds the way to the root cause of the problem and corrects the essential balance of mind, body and emotions. It is considered extremely effective to go through the process of Panchakarma prior to any rejuvenation treatment (herbal medicines), for it cleanses the body, improves the digestion, the metabolic processes of the body and cleanse the thought process as well.
Basically, Panchakarma is meant to make an individual most receptive to the curative process of Ayurveda by removing accumulated waste in body and mind. If toxins in the body are abundant, then this cleansing process is recommended to purge the unwanted toxins. The detailed procedure has been describes very precisely in ancient Ayurveda literature. In this purification therapy different kinds of oils and herbal liquids are applied on human body; to remove waste/ toxin different fluids are extracted from the body for cleansing of body. Such excess waste/toxin may in turn cause various kinds of diseases. Various kinds of treatments are suggested for different health problems. Currently for inspection of patient and for number of treatment process one bed like table is available where patient lies down on it. Many natural therapist and Ayurveda practitioners are using this type of table for treatment of patients. These tables are bulky and required more floor space.
One of the most important procedures in Panchakarma is steam bath or 'Swedana'. The word sweda is derived from Sanskrit swida , meaning to 'sweat or to perspire'. Swedana is the process of inducing sweat with the help of steam, generated from medicinal herbal decoction. After that patient needs to be seated or lie down in relaxed manner for stem bath process. In this process the patient's eye and head should be covered with a wet cotton pad or cloth as ayurveda strongly believes that eyes and head should be protected from over heat. Because of that separate steam chamber or wooden cupboard like arrangement is made which is now available readily in market or customised according to available space in clinic. Generally patient has to move to another place for steam bath purpose as there is no specific arrangement for steam is provided on same massage bed. This is very irksome task for patient because the floor may get wet and slippery due to the massage or a condensed steam in which water is precipitated on a floor surface and another factor is that body becomes oily after massage so oil is dripping from a body. Moreover this results into serious accident and injuries to patient as well as the therapist. Patient needs to be relaxed after massage with oil so for next process i.e. steam bath patient needs to move towards steam chamber. If there is patient who is suffering from serious injury means he is unable to move without any support or body movements are restricted because of critical injuries or other factors considered then it will be tedious situation for both patient and therapist. It is very difficult to handle such kind of patient during treatment. This is the major factor considered while designing present invention. In panchakarma and swedana treatment different numbers of processes are included for which different platforms as well as equipments are needed. Therefore ayurvedic practitioner or natural therapist has to purchase different kinds of expensive platforms for different processes. This can increase the initial investment and most importantly number of platforms consumes lots of space and area so the operational and storage space may affected because of these factors. In any medicinal treatment the most important part is hygiene of patient as well as therapist. The table which are using currently need to be cleaned after every patient's treatment which is time consuming and cumbersome job for cleaners. If table is not cleaned properly it will become less hygienic. The maintenance of different kind of platforms is very clumsy task for therapist. The conventional massage table is made from heavy and bulky materials such as wood and mild steel which are not easy to move from one place to another place. The conventional table is not designed by ergonomically and aesthetically in well manner. The current massage tables are not suitable to use as steam chamber as the massage table is generally made to be integrally engaged in one manner or another to a steam chamber, specifically manufactured to accommodate apparatus permitting the combination to be used as a steam bath unit. Further, to the extent a prior art of massage table might be used with a steam chamber as they have not been readily portable and with a different detachable accessories in the form of versatile arrangement according to the invention
Some examples of massage tables and steam bath chamber from prior art are described as follows:
The patent application number DE102004055456A discloses an accessory which has a structure of two rectangular frames which act as a tent. The steam distribution is done by the two hose pipes mounted longitudinally to the floor sided prism edges. The accessory is able to dismantle and foldable tent with a sweating box mounted inside. The frame consists of tubular section and is connected at the ridge with hinges to one another, the pipe sections are detachable and able to connect to each other. The gable tubes are bent at a shallow angle to provide pipe frame with a flexible roof. The roof is a material of heat-insulating plastic foil which is wrapped around the bottom tubes and is resiliently mounted on the inner side. It consist conduits for steam distribution from spiral tubes which are provided with openings of different size for uniformly distributing the steam. The two bottom corners of the base-side triangular end face of the roof where openings are provided for connecting the steam supply to the steam distribution hoses.
Patent application number CN1239146 discloses invention in which the soft cover and hard cover combined and folded steam room structure. It reduces the application volume and arrangement volume of steam room, and does not damage whole body effect of washroom, and has obvious effect of saving steam. The soft and hard cover designed by the invention combines and folds the new structure of the steam room body, and solves the technical problem of the same track rotation of the unequal-fold folding soft cover. This new structure steam room has reduced the size and placement volume of the steam room, without damaging the overall effect of the bathroom, and saving steam.
The patent application number 2457/MUM/20131 discloses an invention in which both the treatments massage (Snehana) and steam bath (swedana) can be performed without hectic movement of patient as well as therapist or ayurvedic practitioner. In this device a guided channels are provided for the hood movement by using swivel handle it helps in formation of steam chamber. There is also a scissor lift mounted on a main frame coupled with L- bracket causing up-down movement of head assembly which creates steam chamber. For this scissor lift mechanism a motor and lead screw assembly needed for its movement. This takes a lot of space under the table and required power source for its operation. This is very bulky and complex arrangement and required a periodic maintenance.
None of the above prior art devices disclose apparatus which can do all task or treatment in only one table/platform including a standard massage table in order to provide steam bath capabilities as well as different Panchakarama treatments. Further, none of the above prior art devices described and achieve the simplicity and ease of use different attachments required during the treatments like Dhara treatment, Basti treatment, Vaman treatment etc.
Hence there is need of All In One Panchkarama And Swedan (Steambath) Treatment Table which can eliminate the disadvantages set forth above.
