Description
TOILET SEAT
The invention refers to a toilet seat more comfortable, save in exploitation, easy to realise, to fit and to clean, having ergonomic characteristics and designed to be used by anyone, in any climate conditions, both at home and in public places located in restaurants, hotels, trains, air-plains, airports, schools, kinder gardens, hospitals etc., whose hygiene is mandatory and difficult to ensure.
In the field of toilet seats, there are known quite a lot of solutions that are different from each other more from the aspect point of view and from the material they are made of.
From the constructive point of view, all the known toilet seats are made of two elements, the seat and the lid, which are assembled together through two metallic or plastic hinges. The toilet seat is fixed on the lavatory through metallic or plastic screws and with butterfly nuts, in most of the cases.
The disadvantages of the known toilet seats are the following:
Because of frequently usage, the hinges are intensely exposed to effort, they have a short life and quickly break down. Because the hinges cannot be replaced, the life time of the toilet seats is reduced;
Because of frequently usage by the sitting and moving of the person on the seat, the fixing screws get loosen and they clip mostly in the case of children who do not sit still on the seat and force the seat and the screws. Unlike the hinges, the screws can be replaced but there is a risk that they get loosen when the toilet seat is used by somebody which can lead to accidents;
- Because of the plastic material they are made of in most of the cases, the toilet seats are not very comfortable: they use to store the temperature of the environmental being very warm in summer and very cold in winter and this can be very unpleasant;
Because of the bad plastic material they are made of sometimes, they rapidly deteriorate and break and they need to be replaced because it is not recommended and safe to use a broken toilet seat;
The toilet seats made of wood are very heavy and the hinges and screws are over solicited. More than that, their big weight made them difficult to be used by children and older persons who can drop the seat or the lid or both of them and they can break or produce o shock to the lavatory which can also break;
- Because the lid is separated from the seat, being linked only by the hinges, the cleaning of the toilet seat is difficult existing the risk that the water, the detergent and the disinfectant to leak between the hinges on the lavatory and on the bathroom floor which requires another cleaning;
Because the lid is separated from the seat, when used by men and mostly children it may happen that, unintentionally, the urine splashes both the lid and the screws and the lavatory which requires extra work for the person who leans the toilet and extra cleaning materials such as: water, disinfectants, descalers, cloths, brushes etc.;
Because the hinges and the screws are made of ordinary steel, they are difficult to clean and become rapidly stained making them ugly and dirty which is not desired especially in public spaces located in restaurants, hotels, trains, air-plains, airports, schools, kinder gardens, hospitals etc., whose hygiene is mandatory and difficult to ensure.
The technical problem to be solved by the invention is to realise a toilet seat that solves the above mentioned disadvantages meaning that: it is more comfortable, easier and more rapidly to maintain and to sanitize, more ergonomic and safer to use including by children and older persons, with a longer life time and saving the cleaning materials and time.
The toilet seat, according to the invention, solves these problems because it has a special shape and it is moulded in one piece using as raw material the silicone of two different consistence and stiffness. In fact, the lid and the seat make a common body having a flexible area between them that ensures their bending and the fixing on the lavatory is made with the help of a fixing wing made of the same material provided with two cylindrical fixing elements that enter by gathering into the holes of the lavatory. Also, the lid is provided with an additional wing situated below the lid that enters into the lavatory ensuring the leaking of the liquids only in the lavatory not on the floor.
The toilet seat, according to the invention, has the following advantages:
- Because of its shape, the toilet seat is easy to fit and very fickle being easy to fit it on any lavatory regardless its shape;
Because of its shape, the toilet seat allows both the cleaning under water jet including the shower and drying without the risk to splash the lavatory or the floor;
- Because of its shape and the fact that it is realized in one piece, without holes, the toilet seat eliminates the risk of splashing the toilet or the floor and the urine is leaking into the lavatory completely;
- Because the raw material is the silicone, it ensures a comfortable sensation on the human skin;
Because the raw material is the silicone, the toilet seat adheres both to the human skin and to the lavatory which significantly reduces the risk of slipping both of the seat from the lavatory and of the person from the seat even if that person has a handicap;
- Because the raw material is the silicone, the weight of the toilet seat is lower and allows anyone to use it safely including children and old persons and eliminates the risk of accidents and of destroying the toilet seat by breaking;
- The time and the materials needed to maintain and sanitize this toilet seat are reduced because of its unitary shape;
- Because the raw material is the silicone, the toilet seat can be produced in any shape and dimension, in any colour, unis or printed;
- Because of its shape and the fact that it is realized in one piece, the toilet seat can be used as it is or with a disposable protective cover which can be very useful in public toilets located in restaurants, hotels, trains, air-plains, airports, schools, kinder gardens, hospitals etc., whose hygiene is mandatory and difficult to ensure.
Further on, there is presented an example of the toilet seat, according to the invention, related to the figures 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 that represent:
- Fig. 1 : upper view of the opened toilet seat;
- Fig. 2: 3D view of the closed toilet seat;
- Fig. 3: 3D rear view of the semi-opened toilet seat;
- Fig. 4: overview of the toilet seat in use;
- Fig. 5: front view of the toilet seat with the seat and the lid in the vertical position;
- Fig. 6: overview of the toilet seat in use without the additional wing 5.
The toilet seat, according o the invention, is moulded from silicone and has a special shape with the following characteristic parts: a lid 1 of oval shape that continues with an passage element 2 made of a different silicone with higher elastic properties than the rest of the lid 1, which continues with a seat 3 in ring shape made of the same material as the lid 1 (Fig.l).
Behind the lid 1, at the base (Fig.2 and Fig.3), the toilet seat has a fixing wing 4 made of the same silicone as the lid 1 provided with two fixing cylinder elements 8 with a bigger diameter than the holes of the lavatory 7 in order to ensure the fixing of the toilet seat by force.
The fixing cylinder elements 8 are also made of the silicone with higher elastic properties.
At the base of the lid 1, in the vertical position (Fig.4 and Fig.5) the lid has an additional wing 5, rectangular, which bends due to its elastic band 6 and enters into the lavatory ensuring the leaking of the liquids only in the lavatory and not on the floor.
There is also the enbodyment in which the toilet seat does not have the additional wing 5 (Fig.6).
