Description

SMART SYSTEM FOR CONTINUOUS TRAPPING, STORING AND
EXTERMINATION OF MULTIPLE NUMBER OF MOUSE
FIELD OF INVENTION
The present invention relates to the field of Electronics and smart devices and systems. More specifically, the invention relates to a smart system for continuous trapping, storing and extermination of multiple numbers of mice.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Mouse comes in the category of rodents and mass presence is considered dangerous for crops and can spread dangerous diseases, can maltreat the goods in a warehouse, in a home store or in departmental store. Beside all these problems, mouse can also create the problem of inviting snakes and other reptiles which can come after the mouse for hunting them for food.
Plurality of mouse capturing trickery system are available in the market with different capturing systems installed in them. Some of the earlier rodent Cage/traps include those disclosed in U.S. Pat. No. US7363744B2 discloses a rodent Cage/trap including a housing having an elongated rotatable paddle member therein and an insert within the confine of the Cage/trap housing.
The U.S. Pat. No. 7051472B1 relates generally to rodent Cage/traps and, more specifically, to a rodent Cage/trap having a plurality of sensor mechanisms that respond to the presence of an animal therein by closing the sliding door and humanely containing the animal until it is removed to an appropriate location and released. A plurality of Cage/traps may be interconnected end-to-end with the adjacent doors open to form an extended containment chamber.
The U.S. Pat. No. 5185953 discloses the idea of launching mechanism that is activated by photo sensor when a rodent enters the housing and a mechanism launches the rodent from the site of capture to a site of imprisonment or extermination.
The U.S. Pat. No. 2014/0300477A1 discloses a remote notification electronic rodent Cage/trapping system and method is provided with plurality of electronic rodent Cage/trapping devices configured to wirelessly communicate Cage/trap information to each other and to a PC or wireless device. Each of these rodent or mouse Cage/traps generally sweeps a rodent into an area of a Cage/trap in which the rodent cannot escape from. Typically, the area in which rodent is swept into an interior cavity of the housings of the rodent Cage/trap. Therefore a need is felt for such a system with simple structure and an eco-friendly disposal mechanism which can be helpful for continuously Cage/trapping and also their extermination.
Limitation on existing technologies
Existing patents show highly complex and less efficient rodent Cage/trap system for rodent Cage/trapping and extermination. For example, US7363744B2 discloses a rodent Cage/trap including a housing having an elongated rotatable paddle member therein and an insert within the confine of the Cage/trap housing. The system design is highly complex for the rodent Cage/trapping purpose and there is no GSM or internet connectivity of the said design with the user for providing information regarding the occupied space in the collecting chamber made for the mouse. Moreover, there is no sensor attached to the said rodent catching system for rodent Cage/trapping which can made the catching process simpler. US5185953 discloses rodent Cage/trap which comprises a capturing device for capturing a plurality of rodent with a mechanism that launches the rodent from the site of capture to a site of imprisonment or extermination. Key to this invention is a catapult assembly that includes detection sensor to detect the presence of the rodent and trigger a launch mechanism. The given system does not incorporate any idea of internet connectivity or GSM connectivity for transmitting the information about the Cage/trap status at any time of necessity. Moreover, the given idea discloses a complex mechanism for throwing the rodent in water chamber for extermination.
There are some Ultrasonic devices available which transmit sound waves above the range of human hearing but they have suffer from the limitation that rodents quickly become accustomed to repetitive sounds, so the efficiency of devices and rodent catchers based on ultrasonic waves have little capability to drive rats or mice from buildings. Similarly magnetic devices or vibrators also do not help much. INNOVATIVE SOLUTION PROPOSED BY THE INVENTOR
In order to reduce the complexity of the said system for mouse capturing, the present invention discloses a simple idea in which mouse is guided through one chamber to another through one way opening doors and abetting the mouse to follow a particular path which takes it through and drops it in the water tank. Once the rat enters the cage, door closes due to IR sensing mechanism and due to the mouse behavioral habit to follow the tunnel path, it follows the killing chamber. Here, through the shifting panel, mouse can be stored in a cage like storage chamber. There is a killing chamber attached adjacent to this storage chamber. At last the mouse reaches to a point at the end of the pipe where it falls down into the pot which is semi filled with water, due to weight responsive system which is attached at the end of the pipe. The said killing has a sensor which will send the signal to the controller informing that mouse has been drowned and controller will open the door for multiple Cage/trapping operations.
The present mouse Cage/trapping system also includes the GSM and/or internet connectivity with the user computer or mobile for intimating the user about the present situation of the Cage/trap and message can be delivered automatically to user if cage is overloaded or fully filled with Cage/trapped mouse. The message can also be given in the form of a siren or hooter with the help of wire or bulb. Besides, system incorporated the plurality of one way doors and sensors for Cage/trapping of mouse. The bait box is designed in such a way that mouse is easily lured towards the Cage/trap but they can’t eat the bait due to the uniquely designed bait box. Hence, bait remains for long time duration without filling bait box again and again.
The terms mouse, rat and rodent used in subsequent text imply the same for the purpose of the invention.

Therefore, it can be concluded from the above that in spite of all the efforts made, the solutions previously proposed and known in the prior art do not meet all the essential requirements which have to be taken into consideration. OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION
The primary object of the invention is to disclose a less complicated and less costly continuous mouse Cage/trapping system with environmental friendly Cage/trapping and extermination. Another object of the present invention is to disclose a smart mouse Cage/trap which is connected to user computer and mobile through the internet for informing the present condition of the cage in terms of number of mouse Cage/trapped and their exterminated inside the water pot.
Yet another object of the present invention is to disclose a mouse Cage/trap design which can be used for just Cage/trapping and releasing purpose and in another embodiment, it can also be used for extermination of mouse. Yet another object of the present invention is to provide a method to store the rodents at a far place at desired location so that later on the dumped mice can be fed to snakes or reptiles (e.g. in a zoo as food) as they are the part of food chain in environment.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The purpose of the present invention is to design a continuous mouse Cage/trapping and simultaneously extermination device. The Cage/trapping and extermination device is configured in such a way that it can be used for Cage/trapping and either releasing or extermination of mouse in water tank. Mouse Cage/trapping system includes, one portion of cage for Cage/trapping the mouse inside the said device and another section consisting of mouse storage chamber. In addition, the Cage/trapping device is also loaded with extermination mechanism which can be activated at any time by user according to his/her requirements. For extermination of the mouse, a pipe is attached to the storage chamber at an angle. One end of an angled killing chamber is attached with the storage chamber and another end of the said killing chamber or tube opens at the small pot which is semi-filled with water. The semi-filled water pot is placed down the end of the killing chamber fitted with IR sensor for drowning of the mouse. The Cage/trapping procedure is same whether used for storing the captured mouse and later releasing them or for extermination process. There is a path for the mouse to follow inside the killing chamber, door at the start is operated by a sensor switches as per the user command. After crossing the door, the mouse will not have the option to move back. At the end of the killing chamber, mouse sees the resting platform which in general will be a spring sensitive plate. The moment the mouse rests himself on the plate, due to weight of the mouse, plate moves downwards and mouse falls down in the water filled pot which leads to the extermination of the captured mouse. The said mouse Cage/trapping system is equipped with GSM and internet services for efficient working of the Cage/trapping device. Mouse Cage/trap having connectivity with user computer and cell phone for intimating about the number of mice Cage/trapped.

TRAPPING AND STORING SYSTEM: Electronic and electrical panel (16) containing switches and micro- processor is mounted on the Cage/trap chassis (1). When the first locking door (4) of the cage/trap is open, fragrance from the bait box (5) attracts the mouse to come towards the Cage/trap. For effectively spreading of the bait fragrance in the air, a fragrance blower (14) is used in the cage/trap. The Cage/trap can also be coated with a chemical“pheromones”, which is an attracting biochemical fragrance for mouse and even use of bait can be eliminated. As soon as the mouse gets inside the cage/Cage/trap for eating bait, it comes in the range of first sensor (6), whereas the first sensor used is an IR sensor (6) which shuts the ffirst locking door (4) of the cage.
When the mouse is roaming inside the cage/trap, it sees a square type deep hole in the shifting panel (13) and has a tendency to move into that hole as there is some light visible from the hole. If the mouse does not move towards the hole due to natural tendency, optionally, a shocking plate can be fitted inside shifting panel (13) surface which gives small shocks to the mouse and due to which it moves forward towards the storage chamber (15).
When the mouse is moving in the direction of light through that hole, it steps on the iron leaf for moving forward. The iron leaf which is a weight sensitive plate acting as second locking door (3) comes down due to the weight of the mouse and it slips into the shifting panel (13).
Operation of sensors (6, 7):
After entering in the shifting panel (13) through the hole, mouse comes in the range of Second IR sensor (7) located at the back of this hole, which gets activated.
This second IR sensor (7) gives command to the micro controller located in Electronic and electrical panel (16) which also contains a timer and a relay, relay starts the servo motor (17) which operates such that the first locking door (4) of the cage gets lifted up to its initial open position with the help of lever (18) and attached bearing (19).
When the first locking door(4) gets lifted up to its initial open position, the micro switch cuts the supply of second IR sensor (7) and restarts the supply of first IR sensor (6). The first IR sensor (6) and first locking door (4) comes in the initial position to lock another rat.
After shifting panel (13), rat reaches storage chamber (15) and it cannot go back because third Locking system in Storage Chamber (4/A) closes by weight sensing plate in storage chamber (15). One micro switch connected with the said electronic and electrical panel (16) is attached on first locking door (4). This micro switch is used to automatically cut off the First IR sensor (6) when the first locking door (4) is down and second IR sensor (7) comes in working position through micro switch.
The process is a continuous process and multiple mice can be locked inside the cage. When storage chamber (15) is filled with mice, user can detach the storage chamber and release them by opening exit door (2) at a desired place. This is a complete solution for catching and dropping. But in a case when the disposal of stored mice may takes time, since a number of mice are stored together for quite some time, it is seen that generally bigger mice try to harm or eat away smaller mice in the same cage/trap due to hunger. To avoid this, second bait box (25) is attached in the storage chamber (15) which remains filled with the food and water and mice do not remain hungry thereby they do not kill each other. A safety system is provided by way of different sized tubes (22) for different sized rats where smaller mice can hide themselves to save from bigger mice till they are disposed off by the user.
So this becomes a continuous and complete process to catch multiple mice and store them for disposal at a convenient time.
EXTERMINATION UNIT:
This is the next stage of the invention disclosing the extermination of the mouse. The extermination unit consisting of hollow killing panel (8) consisting of a corrugated stair type upward slope within its body for mouse to climb up when inside. Killing panel (8) is angular in shape and fitted with a third IR sensor (9) situated between elbow and the end point of the killing panel (8). One end of this killing panel (8) terminates with a weight sensitive platform (12) tilting towards external killing chamber (10) and the other end has a shutter door (11).
Working of extermination unit :
The mouse is attracted towards the killing chamber (10) Cage/trap because of its tunnel following habit. After mouse count exceeds more than a particular number (say five) in the storing chamber (15), the shutter door (11) of the killing panel (8) opens. Mouse sees a hole which is in vertical direction and up in the air.
A corrugated stair type upward slope is provided inside the killing panel (8) so that mouse moves in the upward direction and reaches at the end of the slope and after a particular height, a downward slope is provided. When mouse sees downwards, he faces towards the weight sensitive platform (12) and since there is no other option for going back, the mouse has to move in the forward direction only. The moment mouse reaches on the weight sensitive plate (12), it falls downwards in the Killing chamber (10) which is a semi-filled water tank, due to downwards movement of weight sensitive plate (12) i.e metal leaf movement. The gap between the water tank and the second end of the killing panel (8) is considerable so that mouse cannot find his way back to the cage and mouse dies of drowning.
Operation of sensor (9): When mouse jumps towards the weight sensitive platform (12), it comes in the range of the Third sensor (IR sensor) (9). This sensor senses the motion and forwards the command to the microcontroller located in Electronic and electrical panel (16). Micro controller counts it as one and keeps on counting the number every time a mouse passes through the killing panel (8). When the count reaches to a pre-fed number say five, it will close the killing panel (8) through shutter door (11) with the help of servo motor (20).
The killing mechanism can be engaged and disengaged as per the requirement of the user. NOTIFICATION SYSTEM:
The present invention can be used in multiple locations such as a shop and a go down. To track each system, a Unique ID (UID) of each Cage/trap and details such as Cage/trap name and location of installation is required to be fed in a database using web based cloud server. Therefore the notification system of present mouse Cage/trapping system also includes GSM/GPRS (internet connectivity) with the user computer or mobile for intimating the user about the present situation of the Cage/trap and message can be delivered automatically to user if cage is overloaded or fully filled or exceeds a particular pre fed number. The message can also be given in the form of a siren or hooter i.e. sound alert. To provide this message and notification along with sound alert, a specially designed software is developed which is loaded in the form of application software in the user interface (ccomputer or mobile phone).
If the trap is located in a basement or the place where network is unavailable than an antenna is attached with the help of a knob/wire to the cage/trap to provide good signal. STEP WISE FLOW OF INFORMATION
The working of notification system after synchronizing the cage/trap with a cloud based web service, consists of following steps: User creates an online account and registers with online cloud database for using Cage/trap;
A QR code of Unique ID (UID) of cage/trap is printed and need to be scanned using application (Fig 1);
User interface (computer/ Android App) converts it into UID and user needs to fill other details Cage/trap name and location of installation (Fig 1) and a data base with reference of UID of Cage/trap (3) is created;
Software (on-board MCU) searches for the Selection of Network connectivity of WI-FI or GSM;
System Connects to the online database of the cage/trap and checks the status (ON/OFF) from online database by user inputs;
If Status if OFF the Cage/trap waits for ON command by user from User interface (computer/Android App);
When user turns ON the Cage/trap (on-board MCU) starts executing the software;
Opens the entry First Locking Door (4) of the cage/trap and scans for the sensors (6,7) interrupts;
It turns ON the fragrance blower (14) to spread the fragrance ;
When Mouse Enters the First Locking Door (4) and passes by the sensor line of IR light (IR Sensor 6), First Locking Door (4) is closed;
Mouse moves to the first one way First Locking Door (4) which gives interrupt on 2nd sensor (IR Sensor 7), and allows to open the First Locking Door (4) again;
The Cage/trap counts up the mouse and puts data to database with reference of its UID; New data is updated on the database and User interface (computer/Android App) checks for new entry and fetches the data of new data;
Notification is received along with sound alert on new event logged even if application is closed and
A notification on balance power available is also sent.
Since many businesses have multiple locations so multiple trapping systems can be connected through cloud based web server and each cage/trap has a Unique ID (UID) due to which notification on number of mice trapped in each cage/trap and status of completely filled cage/trap along with status of balance power, is provided to user through user interface (computer/ Android phone app).
A flow chart of the working of the present invention is as below:
Figure imgf000018_0001
In another embodiment, the present invention does not use an extermination unit but a method is provided to dispose the stored mice to a far off place where they can be stored and later on fed to snakes or reptiles (e.g. in a zoo as food) as they are the part of food chain in environment. Therefore the continuous trapping system for trapping, storing and disposal of multiple number of mouse consisting of a trapping and storing unit, a disposal system and a notification system.
The trapping and storing unit consists of an Electronic and electrical panel (16) containing switches, timer, relay, controller, mounted on cage chassis (1), storage chamber (15) with a shifting panel (13), Tunnel (21) with an opening hole (24) for shifting small mice to storage chamber the mouse goes to storage chamber without stepping on weight sensitive plate (15), plurality of sensors (6,7) configured to operate plurality of doors (2, 3, 4, 4A), plurality of bait boxes (5, 25), plurality of Tubes (22) of different sizes for hiding of smaller mouse, Fragrance Blower (14), Servo motor (17) configured to operate with a lever (18).
The disposal system consists of:
a) An attachment in the form of a pipe (28) is provided (Fig 3), one end of which is attached with the storage chamber (15) with the help of a detachable coupling flange (30) and the other end is fitted in a specially provided hole (27) in a nearby wall (26) with the help of a clamp (29) with key;

NOVELTY- The present invention discloses a mouse Cage/trapping device with storing and extermination capabilities. No such device with the said killing chamber mechanism for extermination of the mouse and storing of mouse is available to the best of the knowledge of the inventor. The inventor has combined storing and extermination process together for the mouse and user can make use of the said device according to his requirement. The inventor has also made arrangement for separating smaller and bigger mice if they are not to be exterminated but just have to be disposed off after some time. A provision is also made so that rodents can be stored at faraway place and to enhance the capacity of the storage cage which can be later dump at a suitable location where rodents can be fed to snakes or reptiles as they are the part of food chain in environment.
There are no such devices or cages available in the prior art which take care of the COMPLETE ERADICATION of mice including /excluding their killing. No system is disclosed where the food chain is taken care and the stored or dead mice are supplied as food to the zoo or animal houses where their dead bodies are utilized as food.
Some other electronic systems available are either Cage/traps only or they kill the mouse but full disposal of the dead mouse has not been taken care of. Hence the system of present invention duly qualifies the novelty. INVENTIVE STEP- The technical advancement of the knowledge lies in disclosing a complete solution in the form of portable Cage/trapping device for storing and extermination of mouse along with notification system. The said Cage/trapping system consists of plurality of sensors, chambers for storing (15), a controller and a killing panel (8) and Killing chamber (10) for extermination of mouse. The said system is designed in such a way that firstly, mouse is Cage/trapped inside the cage and then it is compelled to follow a shifting panel (13) in which one sided door opening mechanism is installed to shift the mouse in the storage chamber (15) deliberately. After mouse gets Cage/trapped inside the storage chamber (15), now if user of the device wants to kill the mouse, he/she can attach a killing chamber (8) with the storage chamber (15) whose end point is opened above Killing chamber (10). Again the mouse is compelled to follow the killing panel (8) and a Third IR sensor (9) is installed in between the elbow and end point of the said killing panel (8) for counting and sensing operations. At the end of the killing panel (8), a metal leaf type weight sensitive plate (12) is attached which is helpful in pulling down the mouse in Killing chamber (10). If the user requirement is limited only to store the mouse, he can detach the killing panel (8) from the mouse storing chamber (15) and can release them later or mice can be stored at faraway place and to enhance the capacity of the storage cage which can be later dumped at a suitable location where they can be fed to snakes or reptiles as they are the part of food chain in environment.
All these mechanisms together make the present system innovative. Inventor has put up his intellect in considering the behaviour of the mouse to follow holes and channels. Also introducing a coating of a chemical“pheromones”, which is an attracting biochemical fragrance for mouse and even use of bait can be eliminated, is the inventor’s original innovative idea. Further, in an embodiment of the present invention, putting another mechanism so that the rodents are stored at a far place at a desired location. Later on the dumped rodents can be fed to snakes or reptiles (e.g. in a zoo as food) as they are the part of food chain in environment, is also a novel and innovative concept.
INDUSTRIAL APPLICATION- The mouse storing and extermination device can be manufactured on large scale in industries. The designed system is less expensive and simple as compares to other mouse Cage/trap devices and contains an easily detachable mechanism according to the user need. It can be easily manufactured in the industry and has a good market as everybody may want to have such a handy and portable apparatus. Therefore, it duly qualifies the industrial application test.
