Description

動力伝達機構および処置具
 本発明は、動力伝達機構および処置具に関するものである。
 従来、先端に設けられたエンドエフェクタと、基端に設けられた操作部とを備え、操作者によって操作部に与えられた動力をエンドエフェクタに伝達して該エンドエフェクタに開閉のような動作を行わせる処置具が知られている(例えば、特許文献1,2参照。)。操作部からエンドエフェクタに動力を伝達する動力伝達部材として、特許文献1ではケーブルを使用し、特許文献2ではスライダ部を使用している。

 しかしながら、エンドエフェクタの基端側に屈曲関節が設けられている構成において、屈曲関節が屈曲したときに、動力伝達部材と周辺部材との間の摩擦が増大して動力伝達部材を伝達する動力に損失が生じる。そのため、操作部に与えられた操作力量に対してエンドエフェクタに伝達される動力の大きさが一定にならないという不都合がある。例えば、エンドエフェクタが把持鉗子である場合には、屈曲関節の屈曲角度が大きい程、操作部に与えられる操作力量に対して把持鉗子の把持力が低下する。屈曲関節に限らず、円弧状に湾曲可能な湾曲部や可撓性を有する軟性部を備える処置具においても、湾曲部または軟性部の湾曲に伴い、動力伝達部材において動力の損失が生じる。
 本発明は、上述した事情に鑑みてなされたものであって、関節部の屈曲または湾曲に関わらず一定の効率で動力をエンドエフェクタへ伝達することができる動力伝達機構および処置具を提供することを目的とする。
 上記目的を達成するため、本発明は以下の手段を提供する。
 本発明の一態様は、先端側から順に配列されたエンドエフェクタ、屈曲または湾曲可能な関節部、および動力を発生する動力発生部を備える処置具に設けられ、前記動力発生部から前記エンドエフェクタに前記動力を伝達する動力伝達機構であって、前記関節部を通過して前記エンドエフェクタと前記動力発生部とを接続し、前記動力を前記エンドエフェクタに伝達する長尺の駆動部材と、該駆動部材および該駆動部材の周囲に配置された静止部材の一方に設けられ、前記駆動部材の長手軸に対して傾斜する斜面を有する力受部と、前記駆動部材および前記静止部材の他方に前記長手軸に直交する直交方向に移動可能に支持され、前記斜面に沿って摺動可能である可動部材と、該可動部材を前記斜面に向かって前記直交方向に付勢する付勢部材とを備え、前記斜面が、前記可動部材から受ける前記付勢部材の付勢力に基づいて前記長手軸に平行な方向の分力を発生させ、該分力は、前記関節部の屈曲または湾曲に伴う前記駆動部材の前記長手軸に沿う方向の変位量が大きい程、前記動力の向きと同一方向に増大する動力伝達機構である。
 本態様によれば、動力発生部が発生した動力が駆動部材によってエンドエフェクタに伝達されることで、エンドエフェクタが機械的動作を行う。関節部が屈曲または湾曲したときに、関節部を跨ぐ駆動部材も屈曲または湾曲することで、駆動部材には、静止部材に対して長手軸に沿う方向の変位が生じるとともに、動力伝達効率の低下が生じる。
 一方、可動部材から力受部の斜面に作用する付勢部材の付勢力によって、駆動部材には、付勢力の大きさおよび斜面の傾斜角度に応じた大きさの分力が作用する。斜面が発生させる分力は、駆動部材の変位量が大きい程、動力の向きと同一方向に増大する。したがって、駆動部材の動力伝達効率の低下を分力の増大によって良好に補うことができる。これにより、関節部の屈曲または湾曲に関わらずに略一定の効率で動力をエンドエフェクタへ伝達することができる。
 上記態様においては、前記分力の向きが、前記動力の向きとは反対であり、下式(1)を満たしていてもよい。

 ただし、Fk1は、前記関節部が屈曲または湾曲していないときに前記付勢部材が発生させる前記付勢力の大きさ、θ1は、前記関節部が屈曲または湾曲していないときの前記可動部材との接点における前記斜面の傾斜角度、Fk2は、前記関節部が屈曲または湾曲しているときに前記付勢部材が発生させる前記付勢力の大きさ、θ2は、前記関節部が屈曲または湾曲しているときの前記可動部材との接点における前記斜面の傾斜角度である。
 分力の向きが動力の向きとは反対であるときには、関節部の屈曲または湾曲による駆動部材の動力伝達効率の低下を補うために、関節部の屈曲または湾曲によって分力の大きが減少する必要がある。付勢力の大きさおよび傾斜角度が式(1)を満たすことによって、関節部が屈曲または湾曲している状態での分力の大きさを、関節部が屈曲または湾曲していない状態での分力の大きさに比べて小さくすることができる。
 上記態様においては、前記分力の向きが、前記動力の向きと同一であり、下式(2)を満たしていてもよい。

 ただし、Fk1は、前記関節部が屈曲または湾曲していないときに前記付勢部材が発生させる前記付勢力の大きさ、θ1は、前記関節部が屈曲または湾曲していないときの前記可動部材との接点における前記斜面の傾斜角度、Fk2は、前記関節部が屈曲または湾曲しているときに前記付勢部材が発生させる前記付勢力の大きさ、θ2は、前記関節部が屈曲または湾曲しているときの前記可動部材との接点における前記斜面の傾斜角度である。
 分力の向きが動力の向きと同一であるときには、関節部の屈曲または湾曲による駆動部材の動力伝達効率の低下を補うために、関節部の屈曲または湾曲によって分力の大きが増大する必要がある。付勢力の大きさおよび傾斜角度が式(2)を満たすことによって、関節部が屈曲または湾曲している状態での分力の大きさを、関節部が屈曲または湾曲していない状態での分力の大きさに比べて大きくすることができる。
 上記態様においては、前記付勢部材による前記可動部材の付勢を解除する解除機構を備えていてもよい。
 分力の向きが動力の向きと同一であるときには、動力発生部から駆動部材に動力が入力されていない状態においても、動力の向きと同一方向の分力が駆動部材に作用する。解除機構によって付勢部材による可動部材の付勢を解除することによって、駆動部材に作用する分力を解放することができる。
 上記態様においては、前記付勢部材が、前記駆動部材および前記静止部材の前記他方に設けられ、前記可動部材を前記直交方向に移動可能に支持し、前記付勢力の大きさが、前記可動部材の前記直交方向の変位量に応じて変化してもよい。
 可動部材の直交方向の変位量は、駆動部材の長手軸に沿う方向の変位量に応じて変化するので、付勢力の大きさが駆動部材の変位量に応じて変化する。したがって、斜面が発生させる分力の大きさを、駆動部材の変位量に応じて変化させ、駆動部材の動力伝達効率の低下を分力の増大によってより良好に補うことができる。
 上記態様においては、前記付勢部材が、前記可動部材の前記直交方向の変位によって弾性変形するばねであってもよい。
 この構成によって、簡易な構造を用いて、駆動部材の変位量に応じて変化する付勢力を発生させることができる。
 上記態様においては、前記長手軸に対する前記斜面の傾斜角度が、前記長手軸に沿う方向に変化していてもよい。
 付勢力から分力への変換効率は斜面の傾斜角度によって決まり、傾斜角度が大きい程、分力の大きさは大きくなる。したがって、傾斜角度の変化によって分力の大きさを変化させることができる。
 上記態様においては、前記傾斜角度が、前記長手軸に沿う方向に連続的にかつ単調に変化していてもよい。
 この構成によって、駆動部材の変位量に応じて同一方向に漸次増大または減少する分力を、斜面によって発生させることができる。
 本発明の他の態様は、先端側から順に配列されたエンドエフェクタ、屈曲または湾曲可能な関節部、および動力を発生する動力発生部と、該動力発生部から前記エンドエフェクタに前記動力を伝達する上記いずれかに記載の動力伝達機構とを備える処置具である。
 本発明によれば、関節部の屈曲または湾曲に関わらず一定の効率で動力をエンドエフェクタへ伝達することができるという効果を奏する。

 本発明の一実施形態に係る動力伝達機構1および処置具2について、図面を参照して以下に説明する。
 本実施形態に係る処置具2は、図1に示されるように、先端側から長手軸Aに沿って順に配置された、エンドエフェクタ3と、関節部4と、長手軸Aに沿って延びる長尺の挿入部5と、操作部(動力発生部)6とを備えている。また、処置具2は、操作部6からエンドエフェクタ3に動力を伝達する動力伝達機構1を備えている。
 関節部4は、長手軸Aに直交する屈曲軸B回りに屈曲可能である。エンドエフェクタ3は、相互に開閉可能な一対の把持片3a,3bを有する把持鉗子であり、関節部4の屈曲によって屈曲軸B回りに揺動可能である。エンドエフェクタ3は、動力伝達機構1から伝達される先端側に向かう押圧力によって閉じ、動力伝達機構1から伝達される基端側に向かう牽引力によって開くように構成されている。したがって、エンドエフェクタ3が発生する把持力量Fgの大きさは、動力伝達機構1からの押圧力Foutによって制御される(図2C参照。)。
 なお、エンドエフェクタ3は把持鉗子に限定されるものではなく、動力に従って機械的な動作を行う他の種類のエンドエフェクタ(例えば、ナイフ)を採用してもよい。あるいは、動力伝達機構1からの動力によってエンドエフェクタ3に設けられる関節部が駆動されるように構成されていてもよい。
 操作部6は、挿入部5の基端に接続されている。操作部6は、操作者によって手動操作されるエンドエフェクタ3の開閉操作用のハンドル6aを備えている。操作部6は、ハンドル6aが閉方向に操作されたときに押圧力を発生させ、開方向に操作されたときに牽引力を発生させる。押圧力および牽引力は、動力伝達機構1の駆動部材11(後述)の基端部に伝達される。ハンドル6aは、レバー式または回転式等の任意の形態のハンドルである。操作部6は、操作者によって手動操作される関節部4の屈曲操作用のもう1つのハンドル(図示略)を備えている。
 動力伝達機構1は、図1に示されるように、操作部6からエンドエフェクタ3へ動力を伝達する駆動部材11と、駆動部材11によって伝達される動力の大きさを調整する調整機構12とを備えている。
 駆動部材11は、挿入部5内に長手軸Aに沿って配置された長尺の部材である。駆動部材11は、関節部4を通過してエンドエフェクタ3から操作部6まで延びている。駆動部材11の先端部はエンドエフェクタ3に接続され、駆動部材11の基端部は操作部6のハンドル6aに接続されている。駆動部材11は、操作部6から加えられる押圧力および牽引力に従って長手軸Aに沿って移動可能である。駆動部材11は、動力を長手方向に高い効率で伝達可能でありつつ、関節部4において屈曲または湾曲可能に構成されている。例えば、駆動部材11は、互いに揺動可能に連結された複数のリンク、または可撓性を有するワイヤからなる。
 図2Aは、エンドエフェクタ3の開状態を示し、図2Bは、エンドエフェクタ3の閉状態を示し、図2Cは、エンドエフェクタ3の把持動作を示している。図2Aから図2Cにおいて、図を簡略にするために、一部の構成の図示を省略している。
 図2Aに示されるように、ハンドル6aの開方向Cの操作によって駆動部材11が牽引され、駆動部材11が基端側へ後退し、エンドエフェクタ3が開く。図2Bに示されるように、ハンドル6aの閉方向Dの操作によって駆動部材11が押圧され、駆動部材11が先端側へ前進し、エンドエフェクタ3が閉じる。図2Bの閉状態において、一対の把持片3a,3bは相互に軽く接触している。このように、エンドエフェクタ3の開閉は、駆動部材11の移動によって行われる。したがって、エンドエフェクタ3の開閉動作のためのハンドル6aの操作に、力量はほとんど不要である。
 一方、エンドエフェクタ3の把持動作において、エンドエフェクタ3が閉状態であるハンドル6aに閉方向Dの操作力量Fopが加えられる。これにより、図2Cに示されるように、操作力量Fopに応じた大きさの押圧力(動力)Finが駆動部材11の基端部に入力され、押圧力Finに応じた大きさの把持力量Fgが一対の把持片3a,3b間に発生する。
 次に、関節部4が屈曲軸B回りに屈曲したときの、駆動部材11の動作および動力伝達効率について説明する。
 図3において、上段は、関節部4が屈曲していない状態(エンドエフェクタ3と挿入部5が直線上に一列に配置されている状態)を示し、下段は、関節部4が屈曲した状態を示している。関節部4が屈曲していない状態での駆動部材11の基端の位置を基準位置と定義する。
 関節部4が屈曲軸B回りに屈曲したときに、駆動部材11の基端が基準位置から基端側に変位する。これは、図3に示されるように、関節部4において屈曲または湾曲した駆動部材11が径方向内側に変位することで関節部4における駆動部材11の経路長が短くなるためである。駆動部材11の変位量dは、図4に示されるように、関節部4の屈曲角度が大きい程、大きくなる。
 一方、動力伝達効率に関して、駆動部材11の動力伝達効率は、図5に示されるように、関節部4の屈曲角度が大きい程、低下する。これは、屈曲(または湾曲)した駆動部材11と周辺部材との間の摩擦が増大することで駆動部材11を伝達する動力に損失が生じるためである。また、駆動部材11を構成するリンクの屈曲により、リンク間の角度に応じて、長手軸Aに直交する方向の動力の成分の損失が生じるためである。
 調整機構12は、図6に示されるように、駆動部材11に設けられ斜面13aを有する力受部13と、斜面13aに沿って摺動可能である可動部材14と、可動部材14を斜面13aに向かって付勢する圧縮ばね(付勢部材)15とを備えている。調整機構12は、図7に示されるように、圧縮ばね15の弾性力Fkから斜面13aによって分力Fcを発生さる。分力Fcが押圧力Finに合成されることによって、駆動部材11からエンドエフェクタ3に出力される押圧力Foutが調整される。
 力受部13は、駆動部材11の側面に形成され長手方向に延びるスリットである。スリット13は、長手軸Aに直交する駆動部材11の幅方向に深さを有している。可動部材14は、スリット13内に配置され、エンドエフェクタ3の開閉動作および把持動作における駆動部材11の長手方向の移動に伴ってスリット13内を長手軸Aに沿う方向に移動する。
 斜面13aは、スリット13の底面の一部である。斜面13aは、先端側から基端側に向かって幅方向外側に漸次変位する方向に長手軸Aに対して傾斜し、斜面13aの基端は斜面13aの先端よりも幅方向外側に位置している。長手軸Aに対する斜面13aの傾斜角度θは、一定である。
 可動部材14は、例えば、円筒状のピンである。
 圧縮ばね15は、可動部材14と静止部材16との間に配置され、圧縮ばね15の一端は可動部材14に固定され、圧縮ばね15の他端は静止部材16に固定されている。静止部材16は、駆動部材11の周囲に配置された部材であり、挿入部5および操作部6に対して固定されている。圧縮ばね15は、駆動部材11の幅方向に伸縮可能である。したがって、可動部材14は、圧縮ばね15によって幅方向に移動可能に静止部材16に支持されている。
 圧縮ばね15は、可動部材14が斜面13a上に位置するときに圧縮され、圧縮量に応じた弾性力Fkを発生する。圧縮ばね15の弾性力Fkによって可動部材14は斜面13aに向かって付勢され、可動部材14から斜面13aに幅方向の弾性力Fkが作用する。斜面13aは弾性力Fkの方向に対して傾斜しているので、図7に示されるように、長手軸Aに沿う方向の分力Fc=Fk×tanθが発生する。分力Fcの向きは、押圧力Finの向きとは反対である。
 図8Aは、エンドエフェクタ3が開状態であるときの駆動部材11と可動部材14との位置関係を示している。図8Bおよび図8Cは、エンドエフェクタ3が把持状態に配置されているときの駆動部材11と可動部材14との位置関係を示している。図8Bは、関節部4が屈曲していない状態を示し、図8Cは、関節部4が屈曲している状態を示している。
 エンドエフェクタ3が開状態から閉状態に閉じる過程において、駆動部材11が先端側へ移動することによって、可動部材14は斜面13aに沿って静止部材16に近接する方向に変位し、圧縮ばね15が圧縮される。したがって、エンドエフェクタ3が把持状態であるとき、可動部材14は斜面13a上に位置し、駆動部材11には、圧縮ばね15の弾性力Fkに基づく分力Fcが作用する。
 関節部4が屈曲していないとき、図8Bに示されるように、圧縮ばね15の圧縮量はΔxであり、弾性力Fkはk×Δxであり、分力Fcはk×Δx×tanθである。したがって、調整機構12による調整後の押圧力Fout(=Fin-Fc)は、Fin-k×Δx×tanθとなる。kは、圧縮ばね15のばね定数である。一方、関節部4が屈曲しているとき、図8Cに示されるように、駆動部材11が基端側に変位量dだけ変位することによって、可動部材14が静止部材16から離間する方向にΔx=d×tanθだけ変位し、弾性力Fkがk×Δxだけ減り、分力Fcの大きさがk×Δx×tanθだけ減る。したがって、押圧力FoutはFin-k×(Δx-Δx)×tanθである。
 このように、関節部4の屈曲によって、分力Fcの大きさが小さくなり、Foutがk×Δx×tanθだけ増大する。駆動部材11の変位量dが大きい程、静止部材16から離間する方向への可動部材14の変位量Δxは大きくなり、分力Fcの大きさは小さくなる。すなわち、図5に示されるように、関節部4の屈曲角度および変位量dが大きい程、分力Fcは、押圧力Finの向きと同一方向に増大する。
 次に、このように構成された動力伝達機構1および処置具2の作用について説明する。
 本実施形態に係る処置具2を用いて患部の処置を行うためには、挿入部5を体内に挿入して先端のエンドエフェクタ3を患部の近傍に配置し、操作部6の屈曲操作用のハンドルを操作して関節部4を屈曲させることにより患部に対するエンドエフェクタ3の姿勢を調節する。
 次に、ハンドル6aを開方向に操作してエンドエフェクタ3を開き、一対の把持片3a,3bの間に患部を配置する。次に、ハンドル6aを閉方向に操作してエンドエフェクタ3を閉じることによって、患部を一対の把持片3a,3bの間に挟む。続いて、ハンドル6aに閉方向の操作力量Fopを加えることによって、一対の把持片3a,3b間に把持力量Fgを発生させる。すなわち、操作力量Fopに相当する押圧力Finが操作部6から駆動部材11を経由してエンドエフェクタ3に伝達される。一対の把持片3a,3bは、操作力量Fopに相当する大きさの把持力量Fgで患部を強く把持する。
 この場合に、関節部4が屈曲した状態においては、図5に示されるように、駆動部材11の動力伝達効率が低下する。関節部4の屈曲角度が大きい程、駆動部材11の動力伝達効率の低下量も大きくなる。
 その一方で、エンドエフェクタ3が把持状態であるときには、可動部材14から斜面13aに圧縮ばね15の弾性力Fkが作用することによって、押圧力Finの向きとは反対の向きの分力Fcが駆動部材11に作用する。関節部4の屈曲角度および駆動部材11の変位量dが大きい程、分力Fcは、押圧力Finの向きと同一方向に増大する。
 すなわち、本実施形態によれば、関節部4の屈曲に伴う駆動部材11の動力伝達効率の低下が分力Fcの増大によって補われる。したがって、動力伝達機構1全体の動力伝達効率を、関節部4の屈曲角度に関わらず略一定に維持することができる。すなわち、関節部4の屈曲角度に関わらず、ハンドル6aに与えられる操作力量Fopとエンドエフェクタ3の把持力量Fgとの間の関係が略一定に維持される。これにより、操作者は、ハンドル6aに与える操作力量Fopによって把持力量Fgを正確に制御することができるという利点がある。
 また、調整機構12は、斜面13a、可動部材14および圧縮ばね15の組み合わせからなる単純な構成である。このような調整機構12は、駆動部材11およびこれを操作するハンドル6aの設計および動作に影響を与えることなく、駆動部材11に分力Fcを作用させることができるという利点がある。また、所望の分力Fcを発生させるための調整機構12の設計および組み立てが容易であるという利点がある。
 エンドエフェクタ3の開閉動作中に可動部材14が摺動するスリット13の底面の部分13bは、駆動部材11の長手方向に略平行であることが好ましく、エンドエフェクタ3の開閉動作中には圧縮ばね15の圧縮量がゼロになるように圧縮ばね15の長さ等が設計されていることが好ましい。これにより、エンドエフェクタ3の開閉動作中に可動部材14から駆動部材11に弾性力Fkが作用することを防止することができる。
 本実施形態においては、斜面13aが一定の傾斜角度θを有する平面であることとしたが、これに代えて、図9に示されるように、斜面13aが曲面であり、傾斜角度θが長手軸Aに沿う方向に連続的にかつ単調に変化していてもよい。この場合、図10に示されるように、分力Fcは、弾性力Fkおよび傾斜角度θの両方の変化に応じてする。したがって、駆動部材11の変位量dに応じて分力Fcの大きさは非線形に変化し、押圧力Foutの変化率が変化する。
 変位量dによって分力Fcの大きさを減少させるために、圧縮ばね15の弾性力Fkおよび傾斜角度θは、下式(1)を満足する。
 Fk1×tanθ1>Fk2×tanθ2  …(1)
 ただし、Fk1は、エンドエフェクタ3が把持状態であり関節部4が屈曲してないときに圧縮ばね15が発生させる弾性力の大きさである。θ1は、エンドエフェクタ3が把持状態であり関節部4が屈曲してないときの可動部材14との接点における斜面13aの傾斜角度である。Fk2は、エンドエフェクタ3が把持状態であり関節部4が屈曲しているときに圧縮ばね15が発生させる弾性力の大きさである。θ2は、エンドエフェクタ3が把持状態であり関節部4が屈曲しているときの可動部材14との接点における斜面13aの傾斜角度である。
 さらに、分力Fcの変化率が所望の変化率となるように傾斜角度θおよび圧縮ばね15の圧縮量が設計される。
 図5に示されるように、駆動部材11の動力伝達効率の低下率は、関節部4の屈曲角度が大きい程、大きくなる。したがって、駆動部材11の変位量dが大きい程、分力Fcの変化率が大きくなるように、傾斜角度θが設計されていることが好ましい。図9および図10の例の場合、傾斜角度θは、基端側から先端側に向かって漸次減少している。例えば、斜面13aの形状は、対数曲線状であることが好ましい。
 本実施形態においては、可動部材14を付勢する付勢力として、圧縮ばね15の弾性力を用いることとしたが、これに代えて、他の部材が発生する力を用いてもよい。
 図11から図13は、付勢部材の変形例を示している。
 図11において、付勢部材は、斜面13aに対して可動部材14と同一側に配置され相互に斥力を発生する一対の磁石151,152である。一方の磁石151は静止部材16に固定され、他方の磁石152は可動部材14に固定されている。一対の磁石151,152間の斥力が付勢力Fkである。変位量dに応じて磁石151,152間の距離が変化し、斥力Fkの大きさが変化する。
 図12において、付勢部材は、斜面13aに対して可動部材14とは反対側に配置された引っ張りばね153である。引っ張りばね153の弾性力が付勢力Fkである。変位量dに応じて引っ張りばね153の引っ張り量が変化し、弾性力Fkの大きさが変化する。
 図13において、付勢部材は、斜面13aに対して可動部材14とは反対側に配置され相互に吸引力を発生する一対の磁石154,155である。一方の磁石155は静止部材16に固定され、他方の磁石154は可動部材14に固定されている。一対の磁石154,155間の吸引力が、付勢力Fkである。変位量dに応じて磁石154,155間の距離が変化し、吸引力Fkの大きさが変化する。
 本実施形態においては、斜面13aを有する力受部13が駆動部材11に設けられ、可動部材14が圧縮ばね15によって静止部材16に支持されていることとしたが、これに代えて、図14に示されるように、可動部材14が圧縮ばね15によって駆動部材11に支持され、力受部13が静止部材16に形成されていてもよい。
 このように、力受部13および可動部材14の配置が逆であっても、分力Fcを駆動部材11に作用させ、変位量dが大きい程、押圧力Finの向きと同一方向に分力Fcを増大させることができる。
 本実施形態においては、付勢部材15が発生させる付勢力Fkが変位量dに応じて変化することしたが、これに代えて、付勢力Fkが、変位量dに関わらず一定であってもよい。例えば、図15に示されるように、付勢部材として、定荷重ばね156を用いてもよい。この場合には、変位量dに応じて分力Fcを変化させるために、斜面13aは、傾斜角度θが単調に変化する曲面である。
 本実施形態においては、調整機構12が、押圧力Finの向きとは反対の向きの分力Fcを発生させることとしたが、これに代えて、押圧力Finの向きと同一の向きの分力Fcを発生させてもよい。例えば、図16Aおよび図16Bに示されるように、斜面13aが、先端側から基端側に向かって幅方向内側に漸次変位する方向に長手軸Aに対して傾斜していてもよい。
 エンドエフェクタ3が把持状態であり関節部4が屈曲していないとき、図16Aに示されるように、押圧力Foutは、Fin+k×Δx×tanθとなる。一方、エンドエフェクタ3が把持状態であり関節部4が屈曲しているとき、図16Bに示されるように、駆動部材11が変位量dだけ変位することによって、圧縮ばね15の圧縮量はΔxだけ増大する。したがって、押圧力FoutはFin+k×(Δx+Δx)×tanθである。このように、図16Aおよび図16Bの変形例によれば、分力Fcの向きが押圧力Finの向きとは反対である場合と比較して、押圧力Foutが大きくなる。したがって、より大きな把持力量Fgを得ることができる。
 図16Aおよび図16Bのように、分力Fcの向きが押圧力Finの向きと同一である場合、ハンドル6aに操作力量Fopを加えて分力Fcを増大させた後、分力Fcが、駆動部材11の後退動作を妨げる。したがって、把持状態から閉状態または開状態へエンドエフェクタ3を移行させるためのハンドル6aの操作に大きな力量を要する。このような不都合を解消するために、圧縮ばね15による可動部材14の付勢を解除する解除機構が設けられていることが好ましい。
 図17は、解除機構の一例を示している。図17の解除機構において、静止部材16は揺動可能であり、板ばね17によって周囲の他の部材18に連結されている。板ばね17が押圧されることによって、板ばね17による他の部材18との連結が解除され、静止部材16が圧縮ばね15の弾性力によって揺動し、圧縮ばね15が自然状態に戻る。
 本実施形態においては、エンドエフェクタ3の閉動作および把持動作が押圧力によって行われることとしたが、これに代えて、図18Aから図18Cに示されるように、牽引力(動力)Finによって行われるように構成されていてもよい。この場合、操作部6は、ハンドル6aが開方向Cに操作されたときに押圧力を発生させ、ハンドル6aが閉方向Dに操作されたときに牽引力を発生させる。
 図18Aから図18Cの変形例において、牽引力Finの向きが、関節部4の屈曲による駆動部材11の変位方向と同一であるため、図19Aおよび図19Bに示されるように、変位量dが大きい程、圧縮ばね15の弾性力Fkは小さくなる。したがって、変位量dが大きい程、牽引力Finの向きと同一方向に分力Fcを増大させる(すなわち、分力Fcの大きさを増大させる)ために、斜面13aは、傾斜角度θが連続的にかつ単調に変化する曲面であり、下式(2)を満足する。

 図18Aから図18Cの変形例において、斜面13aは、図20Aおよび図20Bに示されるように、牽引力Finの向きとは反対の向きの分力Fcを発生させるように形成されていてもよい。この場合、変位量dが大きい程、圧縮ばね15の圧縮量および弾性力Fkが増大する。したがって、変位量dが大きい程、牽引力Finの向きと同一方向に分力Fcを増大させる(すなわち、分力Fcの大きさを減少させる)ために、斜面13aは、傾斜角度θが連続的にかつ単調に変化する曲面であり、下式(1)を満足する。
 Fk1×tanθ1>Fk2×tanθ2  …(1)
 本実施形態においては、1つの屈曲軸Bを有する関節部4を備えることとしたが、関節部4の具体的な形態はこれに限定されるものではなく、挿入部5の長手軸に交差する方向に屈曲または湾曲可能である他の形態の関節部を採用してもよい。
 例えば、関節部は、長手軸Aに沿う方向に配列し互いに平行な複数の屈曲軸を有し比較的大きな曲率半径で湾曲可能な湾曲部であってもよく、可撓性によって湾曲可能な湾曲部であってもよい。
 また、関節部が可撓性を有する挿入部5であり、体内での挿入部5の湾曲角度に応じて調整機構12が分力を発生させるように構成されていてもよい。挿入部5が直線形状から湾曲形状に変形したときに、挿入部5内を通るワイヤのような駆動部材11の経路長が変化して駆動部材11が長手方向に変位する。したがって、例えば、挿入部5のうち体外に配置される基端部分に調整機構12を設けることによって、駆動部材11の変位に応じて、挿入部5の湾曲に伴う駆動部材11の動力伝達効率の低下を調整機構12が発生させる分力によって補うことができる。
 本実施形態においては、操作者による手動操作によって動力を発生する操作部6を備えることとしたが、これに代えて、電動モータによって動力を発生する駆動部を動力発生部として採用してもよい。例えば、エンドエフェクタ3を動かすための操作信号が操作者によって処置具2とは別体の操作入力装置(図示略)に入力される。操作信号は操作入力装置から駆動部に送信され、操作信号に対応する動力を電動モータが発生させ、電動モータから駆動部材11に動力が入力される。

Claims (9)

  1.  先端側から順に配列されたエンドエフェクタ、屈曲または湾曲可能な関節部、および動力を発生する動力発生部を備える処置具に設けられ、前記動力発生部から前記エンドエフェクタに前記動力を伝達する動力伝達機構であって、
     前記関節部を通過して前記エンドエフェクタと前記動力発生部とを接続し、前記動力を前記エンドエフェクタに伝達する長尺の駆動部材と、
     該駆動部材および該駆動部材の周囲に配置された静止部材の一方に設けられ、前記駆動部材の長手軸に対して傾斜する斜面を有する力受部と、
     前記駆動部材および前記静止部材の他方に前記長手軸に直交する直交方向に移動可能に支持され、前記斜面に沿って摺動可能である可動部材と、
     該可動部材を前記斜面に向かって前記直交方向に付勢する付勢部材とを備え、
     前記斜面が、前記可動部材から受ける前記付勢部材の付勢力に基づいて前記長手軸に平行な方向の分力を発生させ、該分力は、前記関節部の屈曲または湾曲に伴う前記駆動部材の前記長手軸に沿う方向の変位量が大きい程、前記動力の向きと同一方向に増大する動力伝達機構。
  2.  前記分力の向きが、前記動力の向きとは反対であり、
     下式(1)を満たす請求項1に記載の動力伝達機構。
     Fk1×tanθ1>Fk2×tanθ2  …(1)
     ただし、
     Fk1は、前記関節部が屈曲または湾曲していないときに前記付勢部材が発生させる前記付勢力の大きさ、
     θ1は、前記関節部が屈曲または湾曲していないときの前記可動部材との接点における前記斜面の傾斜角度、
     Fk2は、前記関節部が屈曲または湾曲しているときに前記付勢部材が発生させる前記付勢力の大きさ、
     θ2は、前記関節部が屈曲または湾曲しているときの前記可動部材との接点における前記斜面の傾斜角度
    である。
  3.  前記分力の向きが、前記動力の向きと同一であり、
     下式(2)を満たす請求項1に記載の動力伝達機構。
     Fk1×tanθ1<Fk2×tanθ2  …(2)
     ただし、
     Fk1は、前記関節部が屈曲または湾曲していないときに前記付勢部材が発生させる前記付勢力の大きさ、
     θ1は、前記関節部が屈曲または湾曲していないときの前記可動部材との接点における前記斜面の傾斜角度、
     Fk2は、前記関節部が屈曲または湾曲しているときに前記付勢部材が発生させる前記付勢力の大きさ、
     θ2は、前記関節部が屈曲または湾曲しているときの前記可動部材との接点における前記斜面の傾斜角度
    である。
  4.  前記付勢部材による前記可動部材の付勢を解除する解除機構を備える請求項3に記載の動力伝達機構。
  5.  前記付勢部材が、前記駆動部材および前記静止部材の前記他方に設けられ、前記可動部材を前記直交方向に移動可能に支持し、
     前記付勢力の大きさが、前記可動部材の前記直交方向の変位量に応じて変化する請求項1から請求項4のいずれかに記載の動力伝達機構。
  6.  前記付勢部材が、前記可動部材の前記直交方向の変位によって弾性変形するばねである請求項5に記載の動力伝達機構。
  7.  前記長手軸に対する前記斜面の傾斜角度が、前記長手軸に沿う方向に変化している請求項1から請求項6のいずれかに記載の動力伝達機構。
  8.  前記傾斜角度が、前記長手軸に沿う方向に連続的にかつ単調に変化している請求項7に記載の動力伝達機構。
  9.  先端側から順に配列されたエンドエフェクタ、屈曲または湾曲可能な関節部、および動力を発生する動力発生部と、
     該動力発生部から前記エンドエフェクタに前記動力を伝達する請求項1から請求項8のいずれかに記載の動力伝達機構とを備える処置具。
