Definitions
- the present invention relates, in general, to a product comprising vitamin D contained in nanoparticles.
- a product comprising vitamin D contained in nanoparticles.
- it refers to pharmaceutical, cosmetic or food products, containing vitamin D in nanoparticles, particularly vitamin D3.
- a compound can be insoluble, but it can be covalently linked or adsorbed to nanocarriers, overcoming the problem.
- the compound is ground to obtain nanoparticles, which are stabilized with a coating - with the decrease of the particle size, the surface area is increased, allowing a faster release of the drug.
- the drug can be directed to certain types of cells or locations in the human body, depending on its route of administration. It is known that nanoparticles can be used in such a way that they can be activated by a series of effects, such as changes in the pH of the medium, chemical stimuli, oscillation of an oscillating magnetic field, application of an external heat source, among others.
- Nanoparticles are known to the person skilled in the art, defined as solid particles of dimensions typically between 10 to 1000 nm (nanometers), more typically between 1 and 100 nm, in which chemical compounds are dissolved, captured, encapsulated, or to which they are chemically bound or adsorbed on a polymeric matrix.
- nanoparticles are synonymous with nanocapsules, for example vesicular systems consisting of a membrane of synthetic or natural polymers, which encapsulate a liquid or solid in its central cavity.
- nanoparticles / nanocapsules are liposomes.
- synthetic polymers used for nanoencapsulation are polylactides (PLA), polyglycolides (PGA), poly (co-glycolide lactides) (PLGA), polyanhydrides, polyalkylcyanoacrylates, polycaprolactone, polyglutamic acid, polyvinylpyrrolidone, polyvinyl methacrylic acid, polymethylacrylate, polymethylacrylic acid, polyvinyl methacrylone, , polyacrylamide, polyethylene glycol, polymethacrylic acid, polystyrene sulfonate, polyalylamine hydrochloride, etc.
- nanoparticles known to the person skilled in the art and useful for the present invention are: dendrimers, nanospheres, polymeric micelles, aquasomas, polyplexes and lipopolyplexes.
- vitamin D3 by way of example only, without excluding other vitamin D alternatives from the scope of the invention.
- Vitamin D3 is an essential fat-soluble steroid hormone for the human body and its absence can provide a series of complications, since it is associated with the control of 270 genes, and its deficiency provides low immunity, muscle weakness, which can lead to the development of diabetes, lung infections, asthma, depression, osteoporosis, obesity and problems with the cardiovascular system.
- the main source of vitamin D3 production is through sun exposure, since type B ultraviolet rays (UVB) are able to activate the synthesis of this substance.
- UVB type B ultraviolet rays
- various foods are a source of vitamin D (liver, cod liver oil, orange juice, tuna, sardines, egg yolks, oysters, it is the sun that accounts for 80 to 90% of the vitamin that the body receives.
- the present invention relates to products that contain vitamin D3 nanoparticles, and that provide efficient administration of vitamin D3 to the human body.
- an alternative of the invention relates to products characterized by comprising vitamin D contained in nanoparticles.
- the products of the invention are preferably pharmaceutical, cosmetic and food products. They are therefore products that can be properly administered to the human body, such as ingestion, injection, topical or parenteral application, or any other suitable for the intended purpose.
- a particular embodiment of the products of the invention relates to compositions characterized by comprising nanoparticles of vitamin D3 and at least one vehicle or excipient.
- vitamins other than vitamin D3 can be contained in the products of the invention, for example vitamin A, provitamin A, B complex vitamins (B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B9, B12), vitamin C , vitamin E, vitamin H, vitamin K, folic acid, niacide, pantothenic acid.
- vitamin compounds may be additionally contained in the products of the invention, particularly food products, such as macronutrients (e.g. proteins, carbohydrates, fats), micronutrients (minerals, trace elements), phospholipids, fatty acids.
- macronutrients e.g. proteins, carbohydrates, fats
- micronutrients minerals, trace elements
- phospholipids e.g., phospholipids, fatty acids.
- Such compounds can be present in juices, cakes, bread creams, salad coatings, cereal bars, etc.
- the products of the invention can be in the form of solid, liquid or semi-solid.
- Specific forms, particularly for pharmaceutical products are, for example, tablets, tablets, pills, capsules, powders, granules, pellets, injectables, syrups, etc.
- In the cosmetic area they can be present in creams, lotions, dispersions, suspensions, oils, etc.
- the vitamin D3 nanocapsule or nanoparticle contained in the formulation of the products of the invention can release vitamin D3 by rupture under pressure, with the passage of time, by reaction with chemical compounds contained in the human organism, or by any other suitable effect.
- vitamin D3 encompasses both vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) itself, as well as precursors and metabolites of vitamin D3, which provide the benefits already mentioned above.
- the invention relates to the use of nanoparticles containing vitamin D3, characterized by the fact that it is in the preparation of pharmaceutical, cosmetic or food products, particularly those aimed at reducing vitamin D3 deficiency.
