Abstract

The present invention relates to an insulation plate (1) suitable to be used in a household appliance having components making noise during operation such as motor, fan, and the like, comprising a plurality of sound damping members (2) enabling damping the noise generated in the household appliance and capable of sound insulation in specific frequencies.

Description

INSULATION PLATE COMPRISING SOUND DAMPING MEMBER
The present invention relates to an insulation plate comprising sound damping member and a household appliance having said insulation plate.
The noise levels people are subjected to in domestic and work environments in daily life have been increasing. Works for mitigating noise problems which adversely affect comfort, psychology and in particular health of individuals, have gained importance. In terms of design, noise levels of household appliances can be improved to a certain extent. In the stage, the way to minimize noise levels is take arrange certain safeguards on the path sound advances from its source to a user. Said safeguards are known as sound insulation and are realized by suitable insulation materials and their designs. Designs are known, which prevent sound transmission from source to receiver in desired frequency bands by means of insulation plates comprising sound damping members accommodating metamaterials. What is implied by said metamaterial insulation plate is designs obtained by means of adding metamaterial units arranged with given spaces in between to a flat insulation plate, acting as inhibitor filters in different frequency bands and preventing sound transmission from source to receiver. However, desired extent of sound insulation cannot be provided in the state of the art.
State of the art European patent application no. EP2237700 discloses a silencer design in which specific frequency values can be damped by varying its size.
State of the art international patent application no. WO2017181341 discloses a sound damping member with high soundproofing capability, allowing heat and flow to pass therethrough.
The aim of the present invention is to realize an insulation plate enabling reducing noise levels.
The insulation plate realized to achieve the aim of the present invention and disclosed in the first claim and the dependent claims, is suitable to be used in a household appliance having components making noise during operation, such as motor, fan, and the like, and comprises a plurality of sound damping members enabling damping the noise generated in the household appliance and capable of sound insulation in specific frequencies. The insulation plate placed in the vicinity of noise generating components, enables the noise generated in the household appliance to be damped by the sound damping members.
The insulation plate of the invention comprises a sound damping member having a prismatic body with a plurality of edges, and at least one foot connected to the body, whose depth is less than that of the body, of a prismatic shape with a plurality of edges. When a plurality of sound damping members are placed side-by-side on the insulation plate, effective insulation is provided by means of the bodies abutting each other so as not to leave a gap in between.
In an embodiment of the invention, the insulation plate comprises a sound damping member having a pentagonal prism shaped body and two feet connected to each other such that their cross-section forms an inverse V-shape, connected to the body at their ends coupled to each other. In this embodiment, the body and the feet are preferably produced integrally. The V- shape of the feet enables the feet to form a lattice-shaped gap-free structure when a plurality of sound damping members are placed on the insulation plate.
In an embodiment of the invention, the insulation plate comprises a sound damping member having a body of a depth (Lmass) in the range of a minimum of 4 mm and a maximum of 6 mm, and foot of a depth ( Lf00t) in the range of a minimum of 0.7 mm and a maximum of 1 mm. In the preferred embodiment of the invention, damping capacity of the insulation plate is enhanced by selecting the body depth ( Lmass) and the foot depth (Lf0ot) within the stated range. Damping capacity is measured by the provided sound transmission loss due to absorption of the sound waves reaching surface. Sound transmission loss value reaches up to approximately 50 dB by means of the invention.
In an embodiment of the invention, the household appliance comprises a flexible insulation plate. When the insulation plate is placed in the household appliance, it assumes the shape of the empty space where it is placed, thereby realizing a gap-free insulation. In addition, its flexible structure enables using the insulation plate on various household appliances.
In an embodiment of the invention, the insulation plate comprises sound damping member made of polyamide material. Particularly Durable polyamide (Duraform PA) material is preferred in this embodiment. Low-cost of the Duraform PA material enables producing the insulation plate in a low-cost manner. Materials other than polyamide material may be used in other embodiments of the invention. For example, abs, plastic, rubber, silicone, metal, alloy, melamine foams and sponge-like materials may be used.
In an embodiment of the invention, the household appliance comprises an insulation plate. In this embodiment, the household appliance comprises at least one fan or a motor generating noise. The insulation plate positioned proximate to a fan or a motor in the household appliance, enables the sound waves emitted from the fan or the motor to be absorbed by the sound damping member.
The exemplary embodiments of the oven realized to achieve the aims of the present invention are illustrated in the accompanying drawings, wherein:

The insulation plate (1 ) comprises a plurality of sound damping members (2) suitable to be used in a household appliance having components making noise during operation, such as motor, fan, and the like, enabling damping the noise generated in the household appliance and capable of sound insulation in specific frequencies.
The insulation plate (1 ) of the invention comprises a sound damping member (2) having a prismatic body (3) with a plurality of edges, and at least one foot (4) connected to the body (3), whose depth is less than that of the body (3), of a prismatic shape with a plurality of edges. The sound damping member (2) is preferably made of metamaterial.
The sound damping members (2) are placed on the insulation plate (1 ) preferably in a lattice form so as to nest into each other. The prismatic-shaped body (3) structure enables placing the sound damping members (2) onto each other so as not to leave a gap in between, thereby enabling the insulation plate (1 ) to provide an effective sound insulation. The insulation plate (1 ) is used in cases in which it is desired to damp noise or to mitigate noise levels.

In an embodiment of the invention, the household appliance comprises a flexible insulation plate (1 ). The insulation plate (1 ) can be bent and flexed according to its space of assembly thanks to being flexible.
In an embodiment of the invention, the insulation plate (1 ) comprises sound damping members (2) made of polyamide material. In an embodiment of the invention, the household appliance is a vacuum cleaner. In this embodiment, the insulation plate (1 ) is placed around the chamber where the motor (7) is placed.
The insulation plate (1 ) formed by joining sound damping members (2) enables reducing noise levels and using the insulation plate (1 ) in household appliances enables realizing household appliances improving comfort conditions of users. Selection of sizes of the sound damping members (2) is of utmost importance to enable the insulation plate (1 ) to provide the desired noise damping.

Claims

1 . An insulation plate (1 ) suitable to be used in a household appliance having components making noise during operation, such as motor, fan, and the like, and comprising a plurality of sound damping members (2) enabling damping the noise generated in the household appliance and capable of sound insulation in specific frequencies, characterized by the sound damping member (2) having a prismatic body (3) with a plurality of edges, and at least one foot (4) connected to the body (3), whose depth is less than that of the body (3), of a prismatic shape with a plurality of edges.

An insulation plate (1 ) according to claim 1 , characterized by the sound damping member (2) comprising a pentagonal prism shaped body (3) and two feet (4) connected to each other such that their cross-section forms an inverse V-shape, connected to the body (3) at their ends coupled to each other.
3. An insulation plate (1 ) according to claim 2, characterized by the sound damping member (2) comprising a body (3) of a depth (Lmass) in the range of a minimum of 4 mm and a maximum of 6 mm, and foot (4) of a depth (Lf0ot) in the range of a minimum of 0.7 mm and a maximum of 1 mm.
4. A household appliance characterized by the insulation plate (1 ) according to any one of the preceding claims being flexible.
5. An insulation plate (1 ) according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized by the sound damping members (2) being made of polyamide material.
6. A household appliance comprising an insulation plate (1 ) according to any one of the preceding claims.
7. A household appliance according to claim 6, which is a range hood (8).
8. A household appliance according to claim 6, which is a hair dryer (9).
9. A household appliance according to claim 6, which is a vacuum cleaner.
