Le procédé comprend les étapes suivantes : un premier dispositif de réseau détermine, sur la base d'un message de multidiffusion transmis par n dispositifs de réseau, une première topologie de réseau d'arbre constituée par les n dispositifs de réseau; et, lorsque le nombre de fois où le premier dispositif de réseau transmet un message de multidiffusion à d'autres dispositifs de réseau dans un réseau local satisfait un premier seuil, détermine un dispositif de réseau auquel un nœud racine de chaque topologie de réseau arborescent de la ou des topologie de réseau arborescent est situé, ce qui facilite, au dispositif de réseau où le nœud racine de chaque topologie de réseau arborescent est situé, l'acquisition d'un miroir OS et la transmission aux dispositifs de réseau dans chaque topologie de réseau arborescent pour l'installation OS. Ceci résout le problème des tâches complexes et de la lourde charge de travail trouvée dans une solution antérieure pour une installation par lots d'OS.
