Description

A MEDICINE REMINDER SYSTEM Technical Field
The present invention relates to a medicine reminder system which enables to remind a patient about times of use regarding medicines that are included in a prescription being written out for a patient and comprising at least one medicine information, by means of an electronic device automatically.
Background of the Invention
Intake of medicines, that are prescribed by the doctor following an examination carried out for the patient, in a correct amount and on a regular basis plays a significant role in the treatment process. In cases when the patient does not take the medicines on time, in a correct amount and on a regular basis; the treatment process is interrupted and the treatment period extends and/or the patient’s disorder cannot be cured. In today’s applications, it is enabled to remind that medicines are taken at the right time by entering information such as bedtime, mealtime in addition to information of medicine and medicine usage by means of an application included in mobile devices of patients. However, a medicine reminder is on the user’s own initiative and it is not known whether the times necessary for a medicine reminder or the medicine information are entered or not. The fact that the medicine usage information told by the doctor to the patient are forgotten, the patient forgets to enter the medicine information told by the doctor to the mobile application or the patient will make an effort by entering the medicine information to the mobile application manually prevents the patient from taking the medicines at the right time and in a correct amount. Therefore, in the state of the art, there is need for a system which enables to create a reminder for medication times and dosage amounts by means of the patient’s mobile device upon the doctor enters the information of medicine to be used by the patient and the dosage amounts of medicine use.
The Korean patent document no. KR20150011158, an application in the state of the art, discloses a system for reminding the medicines that should be taken by a patient and the time when the medicine should be taken by means of an application running on a smartphone.
Summary of the Invention
An objective of the present invention is to realize a medicine reminder system which enables to remind a patient about times of use and the dosage amounts regarding medicines that are included in a prescription being written out for a patient and comprising at least one medicine information, by means of an electronic device automatically.
Detailed Description of the Invention
“A Medicine Reminder System” realized to fulfil the objective of the present invention is shown in the figure attached, in which:

The inventive medicine reminder system (1) for informing patients real-timely and automatically about the medicines prescribed by the doctor and the times to take the medicine comprises:
at least one first electronic device (2) which is configured to run at least one application on it;
at least one first application (3) which is run on the first electronic device (2) and which is configured to provide at least one interface that is adapted to ensure that the medicine information given to the patient by the doctor are entered by a single identity information about the patient;
at least one second electronic device (4) which is configured to run at least one application on it;
at least one second application (5) which is run on the second electronic device (4) and which is configured to provide at least one interface that is adapted to inform the patient real-timely about at least the medicine information and the time to take the medicine and the dosage information regarding at least one medicine that is matched with at least a single identity information about the patient and included in the prescription written out by a doctor;
at least one application server (6) which can communicate with the first application (3) by means of the first electronic device (2) and the second application (5) by means of the second electronic device (4); which keeps the information about the medicines under record inside it; and which is configured to receive the data about the medicine information given to the patient by the doctor from the first application (3) and a a single identity information regarding the related patient, to detect at least the name, usage, medication time and usage dosage information of the related medicine based on the medicine information being kept under record inside it by processing the data regarding the said medicine information and to send the data about the medication time and the dosage information of the detected medicine to the second application (5) matched with the related single identity information in order that a real-time information can be given to the patient about the medicine that s/he uses over the second electronic device (4) by means of the second application (5).
The first electronic device (2) included in the automatic medicine reminder system (1) is a device such as mobile phone, smartphone, tablet, computer which can communicate with the application server (6) by using any remote communication protocol in the state of the art and which can run at least first application (3) on it. In one embodiment of the invention, the first electronic device (2) is configured to establish connection with the application server (6) over a data network such as internet and ensure that a data exchange is realized between the first application (3) and the application server (6) over this connection established. The first electronic device (2) included in the automatic medicine reminder system (1) is used by a doctor.
The first application (3) included in the automatic medicine reminder system (1) is run on the first electronic device (2) and it is configured to provide at least one interface adapted to ensure that the medicine information given to the patient by the doctor are entered by a single identity information regarding the patient over the connection established between the first electronic device (2) and the application server (6). Thereby, the single identity information about the patient and the medicine information given to the patient are matched on the application server (6) and so it is ensured that the said medicine information are sent by the application server (6) to the second application (5) being run on the second electronic device (4). The second electronic device (4) included in the automatic medicine reminder system (1) is a device such as mobile phone, smartphone, tablet, computer that can communicate with the application server (6) by using any remote communication protocol included in the state of the art and that can run at least one second application (5) on it. In one embodiment of the invention, the second electronic device (4) is configured to establish connection with the application server (6) over a data network such as internet and to ensure that a data exchange is realized between the first application (3) and the application server (6) over this connection established. The second electronic device (4) included in the automatic medicine reminder system (1) is used by a patient.
The second application (5) included in the automatic medicine reminder system (1) is run on the second electronic device (4) and it is configured to ensure that the data regarding the medicine are received over the connection established between the second electronic device (4) and the application server (6). The second application (5) is configured to provide an interface such that the user of the second electronic device (4) can see at least the medicine name among the data about the medicine taken from the application server (6). The second application (5) is configured to provide an interface which is adapted to ensure that the said data are entered in order to record personal data regarding the patient such as the patient’s bedtime, mealtime. The second application (5) is configured to remind a patient about medication times real-timely by processing the information of name, usage, medication time and usage dosage relating to the medicine to be taken by the patient -that it receives from the application server (6)- together with the personal data that are kept under record regarding the patient. Thereby, the information about use of medicine can be reminded to the patient real-timely according to the criteria included in the medication instructions on the basis of the person’s life such as taking the medicine on an empty stomach on a full stomach or before bedtime. In one embodiment of the invention, the interface provided by the second application (5) is adapted in order that the previous medication information of the patient are provided. In one embodiment of the invention, the first application (3) being run on the first electronic device (2) is configured such that it will provide an interface that enables a doctor to enter at least the name, usage, medication time and usage dosage information of the medicine information together with the data regarding the single identity information of the patient. Thereby, the doctor will ensure that the treatment is configured personally by determining the medication usage, times and the medication dosage amounts in a patient-specific way.
The application server (6) included in the automatic medicine reminder system (1) is configured to receive the data regarding the medicine information given to the patient by the doctor and the single identity information regarding the related patient via the first application (3) with which it is in communication by means of the first electronic device (2). The application server (6) is configured to detect at least the name, usage, medication time and usage dosage information of the medicine by matching the usage information of the medicine with the medicine information being kept under record inside it in an embodiment of the invention, after receiving the data regarding the medicine information given to the patient and the single identity information regarding the related patient from the first application (3). In an alternative embodiment of the invention, the application server (6) is also configured to receive the data regarding the medication information that are entered to the interface provided via the first application (3) by the doctor and to process these data. The application server (6) is configured to send at least the name, usage, medication time and usage dosage information regarding the medicine to the second application (5) matching with the single identity information regarding the patient.
In one embodiment of the invention, the second application (5) being run on the second electronic device (4) receives the data of at least the medicine name information regarding the medicine from the application server (6) with which it is in communication and it is configured to ensure that the said medicine name information is transmitted to an institution such as for example a pharmacy that enables purchase of the medicine upon processing the received data. In this embodiment of the invention, the system (1) also comprises at least one third electronic device (7) which is included inside the said institution and which is configured to communicate with the second application (5) such that it can realize data exchange and ensure that the information regarding the medicine for example such as name of medicine can be displayed by at least an institution employee by processing the data received from the second application (5). In one embodiment of the invention, the second application (5) is configured to create a code such as barcode, QR code, datamatrix comprising at least the name, usage, medication time and usage dosage regarding the medicine and to send this code to the third electronic device (7). In one embodiment of the invention, the system (1) also comprises at least one database (8) which is in communication with the third electronic device (7) and which keeps the data regarding many medicine under record. In one embodiment of the invention, the third electronic device (7) is also configured such that it will process the code received from the second application (5) and compare it with the data regarding the medicine being kept under record in the database (8). In one embodiment of the invention, the third electronic device (7) is also in communication with the second application (5) running on the second electronic device (4) and it is configured such that it will create a counter notification stating that the data regarding the medicine are received from the second application (5). The second application (5) is configured such that it will enable to remind the necessary medication time upon being triggered by the counter notification received from the third electronic device (7). Thereby, the second application (5) ensures that a medication reminder notification which will enable to remind the necessary medication time real-timely starting from the day when the patient took the medicine by receiving the medicine read receipt, is created.
In the inventive medicine reminder system (1), a doctor can enter data about at least the medicine name regarding the medicine that should be taken by the patient by means of an interface included in the first application (3) that is run on a first electronic device (2) after a patient’s medical examination. Being in communicate with the first application (3), the application server (6) is configured such that it will send the entered medicine information to the second application (5) being run on the second electronic device (4) that is kept by the patient, upon receiving the data regarding the single identity information about the related patient, matching the usage information regarding the related medicine with the medicine information being kept under record inside it and detecting at least the medication time and the dosage information of the medicine. The second application (5) is configured to provide an interface wherein the patient can enter personal information for example such as bedtime, mealtime. The second application (5) is configured to ensure that a notification is created for the patient real-timely by processing the medicine information received from the application server (6) together with the data entered by means of the interface. The second application (5) is also configured to ensure that the medicine information included in the prescription is transmitted to the third electronic device (7) being kept by a pharmacy employee, and the medicine is taken.
The third electronic device (7) also creates a counter notification that will inform the second application (5) about the receipt information of the medicine data created in response to the medicine data received from the second application (5). Thereby, the second application (5) is configured such that it will create the medicine reminder information real-timely for the patient when it receives the counter notification.
Within these basic concepts; it is possible to develop various embodiments of the inventive“A Medicine Reminder System (1)”; the invention cannot be limited to examples disclosed herein and it is essentially according to claims.

Claims

1. A medicine reminder system (1) for informing patients real-timely and automatically about the medicines prescribed by the doctor and the times to take the medicine, comprising
at least one second electronic device (4) which is configured to run at least one application on it; and
at least one second application (5) which is run on the second electronic device (4) and which is configured to provide an interface that enables a patient to create a reminder by entering his/her personal information for the medicines included in the prescription that is written out for the patient; and characterized by
at least one first electronic device (2) which is configured to run at least one application on it;
at least one first application (3) which is run on the first electronic device (2) and which is configured to provide at least one interface that is adapted to ensure that the medicine information given to the patient by the doctor are entered by a single identity information about the patient;
at least one second application (5) which is run on the second electronic device (4) and which is configured to provide at least one interface that is adapted to inform the patient real-timely about at least the medicine information and the time to take the medicine and the dosage information regarding at least one medicine that is matched with at least a single identity information about the patient and included in the prescription written out by a doctor;
at least one application server (6) which can communicate with the first application (3) by means of the first electronic device (2) and the second application (5) by means of the second electronic device (4); which keeps the information about the medicines under record inside it; and which is configured to receive the data about the medicine information given to the patient by the doctor from the first application (3) and a a single identity information regarding the related patient, to detect at least the name, usage, medication time and usage dosage information of the related medicine based on the medicine information being kept under record inside it by processing the data regarding the said medicine information and to send the data about the medication time and the dosage information of the detected medicine to the second application (5) matched with the related single identity information in order that a real-time information can be given to the patient about the medicine that s/he uses over the second electronic device (4) by means of the second application (5).

A medicine reminder system (1) according to Claim 1; characterized by the first electronic device (2) which is a device such as mobile phone, smartphone, tablet, computer that can communicate with the application server (6) by using any remote communication protocol in the state of the art and that can run at least first application (3) on it.

A medicine reminder system (1) according to Claim 1 or 2; characterized by the first electronic device (2) which is configured to establish connection with the application server (6) over a data network such as internet and to ensure that a data exchange is realized between the first application (3) and the application server (6) over this connection established.
4. A medicine reminder system (1) according to any of the preceding claims;
characterized by the second electronic device (4) which is a device such as mobile phone, smartphone, tablet, computer that can communicate with the application server (6) by using any remote communication protocol and that can run at least one second application (5) on it.
5. A medicine reminder system (1) according to any of the preceding claims;
characterized by the second electronic device (4) which is configured to establish connection with the application server (6) over a data network such as internet and to ensure that a data exchange is realized between the first application (3) and the application server (6) over this connection established.
6. A medicine reminder system (1) according to any of the preceding claims;
characterized by the second application (5) which is configured to provide an interface such that the user of the second electronic device (4) can see at least the medicine name among the data regarding the medicine taken from the application server (6).
7. A medicine reminder system (1) according to any of the preceding claims;
characterized by the second application (5) which is configured to provide an interface that is adapted to ensure that the said data are entered in order to record personal data regarding the patient such as the patient’s bedtime, mealtime.
8. A medicine reminder system (1) according to any of the preceding claims;
characterized by the second application (5) which is configured to remind a patient about medication times real-timely by processing the information of name, usage, medication time and usage dosage relating to the medicine to be taken by the patient -that it receives from the application server (6)- together with the personal data that are kept under record regarding the patient.
9. A medicine reminder system (1) according to any of the preceding claims;
characterized by the second application (5) which is configured in order to provide an interface that is adapted to ensure that the previous medication information of the patient are displayed by the interface provided.
10. A medicine reminder system (1) according to any of the preceding claims;
characterized by the first application (3) which is run on the first electronic device (2) and which is configured such that it will provide an interface that enables a doctor to enter at least the name, usage, medication time and usage dosage information of the medicine information together with the data regarding the single identity information of the patient.

A medicine reminder system (1) according to Claim 10; characterized by the application server (6) which is configured to receive the data regarding the medicine information given to the patient by the doctor and the single identity information regarding the related patient via the first application (3) with which it is in communication by means of the first electronic device (2).
12. A medicine reminder system (1) according to any of the preceding claims;
characterized by the application server (6) which is configured to detect at least the name, usage, medication time and usage dosage information of the medicine by matching the usage information of the medicine with the medicine information being kept under record inside it, after receiving the data regarding the medicine information given to the patient and the single identity information regarding the related patient from the first application

13. A medicine reminder system (1) according to any of Claim 1 to 11;
characterized by the application server (6) which is also configured to receive the data regarding the medication information that are entered to the interface provided via the first application (3) by the doctor, and to process these data.
14. A medicine reminder system (1) according to any of the preceding claims;
characterized by the application server (6) which is configured to send at least the name, usage, medication time and usage dosage information regarding the medicine to the second application (5) matching with the single identity information regarding the patient.
15. A medicine reminder system (1) according to any of the preceding claims;
characterized by the second application (5) which is run on the second electronic device (4); which receives the data of at least the medicine name information about the medicine from the application server (6) with which it is in communication; and which is configured to ensure that the said medicine name information is transmitted to an institution enabling purchase of the medicine upon processing the received data.
16. A medicine reminder system (1) according to Claim 15; characterized by at least one third electronic device (7) which is included inside an institution and which is configured to communicate with the second application (5) such that it can realize data exchange and ensure that the information regarding the medicine can be displayed by at least an institution employee by processing the data received from the second application (5).
17. A medicine reminder system (1) according to Claim 16; characterized by the second application (5) which is configured to create a code such as barcode, QR code, datamatrix comprising at least the name, usage, medication time and usage dosage regarding the medicine, and to send this code to the third electronic device (7).
18. A medicine reminder system (1) according to Claim 16 or 17;
characterized by at least one database (8) which is in communication with the third electronic device (7) and keeps the data regarding the medicine under record.
19. A medicine reminder system (1) according to Claim 18; characterized by the third electronic device (7) which is configured such that it will process the code received from the second application (5) and compare it with the data regarding the medicine being kept under record in the database (8).
20. A medicine reminder system (1) according to any of Claim 16 to 19;
characterized by the third electronic device (7) which is in communication with the second application (5) over the second electronic device (4) and which is configured such that it will create a counter notification stating that the data are received from the second application (5) regarding the medicine.
21. A medicine reminder system (1) according to Claim 20; characterized by the second application (5) which is configured such that it will enable to remind the necessary medication time upon being triggered by the counter notification received from the third electronic device (7).
