Abstract
The objective of the invention is a rotary nursing bed consisting of place to rest upon, as well as headrest and footrest in the form of flat, cuboid boxes placed on travelling wheels and the main frame that can be characterized by the main frame (4) being connected with the wheel elements (5) by means of gas spring (6), wherein the main frame (4) is equipped with additional "L" shaped securing beams (7) that form a demountable internal basket and move upon steel bars (8).
Description
Rotary nursing bed
The subject of the invention is a rotary nursing bed to be used during the comprehensive care of the immobile whose health condition precludes independent functioning.
Today, specialist nursing beds do not provide carers of the bed-restrained whose health condition precludes independent functioning, with freedom while performing necessary operations especially related to the hygiene of the sick or during rehabilitation.
Polish patent application No. P411159 (Al) discloses an automatic bed which can alternatively or periodically rotate a patient. The automatic bed consists of a frame with two arch beams upon which the cradle holding a rack with a mattress in its top part, moves, and which are perpendicularly fixed between two long sides. The frame with permanently stretched elastic cover with a sponge layer covering the mattress from the top, is seated around the rack. The bed can be set to the so-called "cardiologic" position.
Patent application No. PL122139 (Ul) discloses a device for nursing bedfast persons which is formed so that within the area of the end of each handrail there is a sprocket of a driving unit provided for turning the handrails and a second sprocket of which is seated on the shaft installed in a housing, with both sprockets being connected via a chain and driven using a driving means installed on the said shaft. Each handrail is fitted inside with a shaft which has a guiding roller installed on each side and is equipped with a rope in order to fix the frame to the vertical element of the bed, relative to an additional guiding element, wherein on one side of the frame, each shaft is seated in a body installed to a cross-beam and ended with a sprocket. On the other side of the frame, this is seated in the second cross-beam, wherein both sprockets are connected via the chain of the driving unit to lift / lower the frame when so equipped with a driving means.
An additional example solving the issue of maintaining care over a bedfast person is a hospital or nursing bed disclosed in the Polish patent application PL208139 (Bl). The solution discloses a hospital or nursing bed with bottom frame and a place to rest upon of adjustable height, and connected to it by means of two tilting ferrules and a direct and / or indirect acting motor. Herein, the place to rest upon is lowered towards the end from the head side or the end from the legs side and shaped so that the motor in its operating position is connected with one of the tilting ferrules in a separable manner.
The objective of the invention is to create a new construction of a rotary nursing bed that would eliminate current drawbacks related to taking care of a person whose condition precludes independent functioning.
The aim of the invention is a rotary nursing bed consisting of place to rest upon, a headrest and footrest in the form of flat, cuboid boxes placed on travelling wheels and a main frame that can be characterized by the main frame being connected with the installed wheel elements by means of gas spring, wherein the main frame is equipped with additional "L" shaped securing beams that form a demountable internal basket and move upon steel bars.
Preferably, the demountable internal basket of the rotary nursing bed is covered with upholstery or lined with a mattress.
Construction of the rotary nursing bed according to the invention allows rotation of the place to rest upon from the horizontal position by variable angle from 0 to 180 degrees in any direction. During rotation, the immobile patient is secured by means of "L" shaped securing beams forming a demountable internal basket.
Because of the rotary securing system, according to the invention, the care over a sick person becomes easier and less tiresome for the bed-restricted and his / her carer. Because of the rotary nursing bed frame rotation, the carer has access to the patient from his / her chest and back-side in order to effect massage. Moreover, because of the demountable internal basket installed in the rotary nursing bed, the bed-fast can rest on his / her abdomen without any constricting by means of safety belts. By turning the rotary nursing bed 90 degrees, it is possible to position the patient on one or another side. Elements of the place to rest upon have all the functions of modem beds for the immobile, i.e. four-segment place to rest upon, including three moving segments. The place to rest upon of the rotary nursing bed is adjusted using electrical spring by means of which the segments may change positions in relation to each other, adjusting themselves to the patient's needs.
While affecting 180 degree turns, the rotating nursing bed is additionally supported by gas spring that reduce the force exerted by the carer to lift the place to rest and the internal basket. The whole construction is installed on a travelling set with lockable wheels in order to facilitate movement of the rotary nursing bed.
The object of the invention is presented in more detail in the embodiments and below figures in which:
Fig. 1 provides an axonometric view of the basket formed under the place to rest upon, of the bed according to the invention.
Fig. 2 provides an axonometric view of the basket formed over the place to rest upon, of the bed according to the invention.
Fig. 3 provides an axonometric view of the bed in a side position according to the invention.
Fig. 4 provides an axonometric view of the bed with open part of the place to rest upon, facilitating access for the carer to the sick person.
Fig. 5 provides an axonometric view of the bed with open part of the place to rest upon and open part of the internal basket, facilitating the sliding out of the sick person.
Example
The rotary nursing bed according to the invention consists of the place 9 to rest upon, headrest 1 and footrest 2 in the form of flat cuboid boxes placed on travelling wheels 3, and the main frame 4 connected with wheel elements 5, which after bolting to the main frame 4, form a single element. The wheel elements 5 are fixed using gas spring 6 on each side, installed to the headrest 1 and backrest 2, allowing the rotation of the place 9 to rest upon from the horizontal position by variable angle from 0 to 180 degrees in any direction. During rotation by each angle, the bed-restrained is secured with additional "L" shaped securing beams 7 that form a demountable internal basket by turning the bed-fast to the side by 90 degrees - as showed in fig. 3 or by turning the bed- restrained by 180 degrees to lie on his / her abdomen as presented in fig. 4. The securing beams 7 are covered with upholstery and move on steel bars 8 in a shape that allows closing the basket without striking the bed 4 frame elements.
After turning the bed-fast by 180 degrees in order to lie on his / her abdomen, the place 9 to rest upon, after unlocking, can be opened in order to provide unrestricted access to the patient (fig. 4). It is also possible to slide out the individual while he/she is lying on his / her abdomen, from the bed (e.g. in case of spinal injuries), after opening the basket element part (fig. 5).

1. The rotary nursing bed consisting of place to rest upon, headrest and footrest in the form of flat, cuboid boxes placed on travelling wheels and the main frame characterize in that the main frame (4) is connected with the wheel elements (5) by means of using gas spring (6), wherein the main frame (4) is equipped with additional "L" shaped securing beams (7) that form a demountable internal basket and move upon steel bars (8).
2. The bed according to claim 1 characterized in that the "L" shaped securing beams (7) forming the internal basket are covered with an upholstery or mattress.
3. The bed according to claim 1 characterized in that the place (9) to rest upon is formed of a four-segment mattress, wherein three segments are movable.
