Description
Anti-bedsore bed
Technical Field
This invention relates to an anti-bedsore bed and should be included in a field of medical and rehabilitation technical equipment.
Background Art
With patients confined to bed for long periods with restricted possibilies of movement, bedsores can occure due to prolonged pressure on the localised body parts and, consequently, to the insufficient localised promoting the blood circulation in a skin. If the bedsores are not discovered in time, they can have far-reaching consequences in the form of infection of afflicted tissues, and , later, to the total infection of the organism. As a prevention of the bedsore rise, special hospital beds are used, enabling an alternating cyclic support of the lying patient on divers parts of his body. It is well-known a hospital bed consisting of four separate tipable grates, the positioning of which is secured by four electric motors. Further a hospital bed is well-known, on which the lying patient is supported by air bags. The air bags are arranged in five different sections for supporting head, trunk, sitting part, thigh and calfs, each section being provided with separate its own valve for air pressure controlling. According to the patent US 4,999,861, the therapeutic bed is known, made by the set of adjustable lamellae, vertical movement of which being secured by an eccentric. The lifting periodicity is manual controlled with the aid of a crank. The substancial disadvantage of this bed is the manual lifting of lamellae. In the patent US 5,233,712, a massage bed is described, that consists of two sets of lamellae, one set of which being vertically sliding as against the another set of lamellae with the aid of a slide on the inclined plane. The control is manual again and requires the continual attendance in the continuous cycle. Disadvantages of known designs of anti-bedsore beds consist in the imperfect protection against the rise of bedsores, mainly in the case of the patient's confining to bed lasting several months, because such anti-bedsore beds don't sufficiently support the blood and lymph circulation.
Disclosure of Invention
The said disadvantages are in the considerable extend eliminated by an anti-bedsore bed, containing the frame, made by longitudinal beams and by legs according to this invention,
disclosure of which consists in that, that shafts provided with worm wheels are turningly mounted in longitudinal beams on at least one end of shafts, these worm whel engaging with the worm mounted turningly in the legs of the frame. The shafts are provided with a set of eccentrics, that are arranged on the shafts next to each other in the way that they - together with the eccentrics on the adjacent shafts - form the rows of ecccentrics in the longitudinal direction of the grate, and the points of the maximal eccentricity of the adjacent eccentrics in separate sets are angularly displaced advantageously of the angle of 180° and the maximal eccentricity of the eccentrics on the adjacent shafts pertaining to the same row of eccentrics is angularly displaced in such a way that the points of the maximal eccentricity of the eccentrics lay on the sinusoid curve.
The disclosure of Invention consists also in that, that the bushings, lagged with a soft and elastic cover, are turningly mounted on the eccentrics.
The advantage of the design of the anti-bedsore bed according to this Invention consists in that, that it provides the better alternating lightening of the support(ing) of the patient's body with the simultaneous massage and promotion the blood and lymph circulation . This will be reached by the turning of shafts, on which the eccentrics are mounted in such a way, that adjacent shafts, as in the sets on separate shafts, and also in separate rows made by eccentrics of adjacent shafts are mutually angularly displaced. The soft and elastic cover on the eccentrics accomodates to the profile of the body surface according to the loading intensity, and due to the turning of the eccentrics, it comes - besides the alternating lightening of the supporting of the patient's body - to the massage of the patient's body, which massage helps the blood and lymph circulation. The massage can be continuous or cyclic. The adjustment of the velocity of the shafts turning and, in that way, of the intensity of the massage, can be continuously controlled according to the requirements of the therapeutic surgeon.
Brief Description of Drawings
The invention will be close explained by means of drawings, from which FIG. 1 demonstrates the top view on the anti-bedsore bed, FIG. 2 demonstrates the longitudinal section A-A localized in the FIG. 1, and the FIG. 3 demonstrates the cross section B-B localized in the FIG. 2.
Example of Carrying Out the Invention
The anti-bedsore bed consists of the frame, formed by longitudinal beams 9, to ends of
which legs JJ) are fastened. In the longitudinal beams 9 of the frame, shafts 1 are turningly mounted, forming a grate of the bed. The shafts 1 are equipped with worm wheels 8, fixed on one of the ends of shafts 1. Inside longitudinal beams 9, a worm 3. is situated, turningly mounted in the legs JJ) of the grate of the bed. To one end of the worm 3., a power unit 2 is attached, made by the electric motor and a gearbox. Worm wheels S engage with the worm 3_. Each shaft 1 is equipped with a set 4J_ of eccentrics 4 are arranged on the shafts 1 next to each other in the way, that they make, together with the eccentrics 4 on the adjacent shafts 1, the rows 42 of eccentrics 4 in the longitudinal direction of the grate of the bed, the points of the maximal eccentricity of adjacent eccentrics 4 in the separate sets 4J_ are angularly displaced through an angle of 180° and the maximal eccentricity of the eccentrics 4 on the adjacent shafts 1 pertaining to the same row 42 is angularly displaced in such a way, that the points of the maximal eccentricity of the eccentrics 4 in the corresponding row 42 lay on the sinusoid curve. On the eccentrics 4, bushings 5. lagged with a soft and elastic cover 6, are turningly mounted. The surface of the anti- bedsore bed is covered with a bed sheet 7. The power unit 2 drives the worm 3_, the rotary movement of which is transferred on the shafts 1 through the worm wheels S. When turning the shafts 1 and the eccetrics 4, the bushings 5_ lagged with a soft and elastic cover, move on the circular path, and in the same time, bushings 5_ turn on the eccentrics 4, causing the planet motion of the bushings 5_. In consequence of such motion of the bushings 5_, the alternating supporting of the patient on his different body parts takes place, and in the same time, also the permanent massage occurs, positively affecting the blood and lymph circulation in the patient's body. The anti-bedsore bed can be used also as the massage mat in usual beds.
