Description

RADIATOR FOR TABLETOP AND/OR FLOOR USE
The present invention relates to a radiator for tabletop and/or floor use.
The invention can be applied in a domestic environment in the sector of articles for desktop use, however it can also be applied in other fields, such as the sector of articles of furniture.
Nowadays various different types of radiator for tabletop and/or floor use are widespread.
Some of these use halogen technology to generate heat with Joule effect, using an electric current.
Alternatively, there are radiators on the market that use the heat generated with Joule effect through quartz electric heating elements.
There are also radiators that use the radiation generated by infrared radiant elements.
Such conventional techniques have some drawbacks and aspects that can be improved.
The heat generated by the radiators described above is irradiated in delimited portions of the surrounding space, by virtue of the orientation of the radiating portion, or it is targeted in a specific direction by way of a conveniently-arranged fan.
Furthermore, generally, such radiators have aspects that are rather unpleasant.
The aim of the present invention is to provide a radiator for tabletop and/or floor use which is capable of improving the known art in one or more of the above mentioned aspects.
Within this aim, an object of the invention is to provide a radiator that is capable of diffusing heat in all the surrounding space.
Another object of the invention is to provide a radiator that can generate more light than conventional radiators.
A further object of the invention is to provide a radiator that generates a pleasing visual impact in the user.
Furthermore, the present invention is to overcome the drawbacks of the known art in an alternative manner to any existing solutions.
Another object of the invention is to provide a radiator that is highly reliable, easy to implement and at low cost.
This aim and these and other objects which will become better apparent hereinafter are achieved by an electrically powered radiator, which comprises a housing and at least one electric heating element, characterized in that it comprises a first opening arranged above said at least one electric heating element, a second opening arranged below said at least one electric heating element, and a fan which is comprised between said first opening and said at least one electric heating element.
Further characteristics and advantages of the invention will become better apparent from the description of a preferred, but not exclusive, embodiment of the radiator according to the invention, which is illustrated by way of non- limiting example in the accompanying drawings wherein:
- Figure 1 is an overall perspective view of a radiator according to the invention;
- Figure 2 is a cross-sectional view of the radiator in Figure 1.
With reference to the figures, a radiator for tabletop and/or floor use according to the invention is generally designated by the reference numeral 10.
The radiator 10 comprises a housing 11 inside which all the components necessary for its operation are accommodated.
The shell 11, in the example shown in the figures, is substantially ellipsoidal in order to confer a pleasing visual impact on the object.
In other embodiments, not shown in the figures, the shape of the shell can be different.
Such radiator 10 is electrically powered and comprises at least one electric heating element 12. In the embodiment shown in the figures, the heating elements are two in number.
The heating element 12 is adapted to generate heat with Joule effect.
One of the peculiarities of the radiator 10 consists in that it comprises a first opening 13, arranged above the electric heating elements 12, a second opening 14, arranged below the electric heating elements 12, and a fan 15, which is comprised between the first opening 13 and the heating elements 12.
The fan 15 works inside a first intake pipe 21.
The second opening 14 is perimetrically arranged.
In particular, the arrangement of the two openings 13 and 14, of the heating elements 12 and of the fan 15, is on mutually parallel levels.
The fan 15 and the corresponding first pipe 21 are fixed at a level 17.
The first pipe 21 is connected to a second pipe 18, inside which the heating elements 12 are accommodated.
The surface 17 has a hole at the first pipe 21 so that a single, continuous conduit is created for the air flow, made up of the first pipe 21 and the second pipe 18.
The second pipe 18 has an axis of extension that is perpendicular to the plane of the fan 15 and which coincides with the axis of extension of the first intake pipe 21.
Another peculiarity of the invention consists of the presence of a lighting element 16.
The lighting element 16 is dimmable.
The term “dimmable” means that its brightness can be varied according to use.
Such lighting element 16 enables light to be emitted through at least one of the openings 13, 14.
In the example shown in the figures, the lighting element 16 is inside the housing 11 and is fixed to a surface of the level 17, opposite the surface on which the fan 15 and the first pipe 21 are fastened.
The lighting element 16 is arranged outside the second pipe 18 and produces a light that is diffused to the outside environment from the second opening 14.
Proximate to the first opening 13, there is a control pad 19 for switching on and switching off the various functions of the radiator 10.
An electronic board 20 arranged, for example, on the same surface of the level 17 where the first pipe 21 is fastened, is adapted to the management of the various electrical components.
The radiator 10 comprises a plurality of supporting feet 22 for resting on a surface, which extends from the lower face of the radiator 10.
The operation of the radiator 10, according to the invention, is the following.
The air, at ambient temperature, enters the radiator through the first opening 13 and is aspirated into the first pipe 21 by the fan 15 (arrows 23).
The fan 15 pushes the air into the second pipe 18, which contains the heating elements 12 (arrows 24).
The heating elements 12 generate heat with Joule effect, heating the air that circulates in the vicinity.
The hot air is diffused to the surrounding outside environment through the second opening 14 (arrows 25).
The radiator 10 can be managed by way of an application downloadable by a smartphone or tablet computer, operating over both Bluetooth and wireless LAN. By way of this application it is possible to manage all the functions of the invention such as lighting, which can be dimmable, and the electric heating elements for regulating the heat, as well as the programming of scheduled switch-on and switch-off times.
A radiator 10 according to the invention can also, or only, be used as a lamp, for example a tabletop lamp, by switching on the lighting element 16.
In practice it has been found that the invention fully achieves the intended aim and objects by providing a radiator that makes it possible to heat all the surrounding environment and which has a pleasing visual impact.
The invention, thus conceived, is susceptible of numerous modifications and variations, all of which are within the scope of the appended claims. Moreover, all the details may be substituted by other, technically equivalent elements.
In practice the materials employed, provided they are compatible with the specific use, and the contingent dimensions and shapes, may be any according to requirements and to the state of the art.
The disclosures in Italian Utility Model Application No. 202018000002318 from which this application claims priority are incorporated herein by reference.
Where technical features mentioned in any claim are followed by reference signs, those reference signs have been included for the sole purpose of increasing the intelligibility of the claims and accordingly, such reference signs do not have any limiting effect on the interpretation of each element identified by way of example by such reference signs.
