Abstract

Sponge with metallic scourer consists of sponge (B) and metallic scourer (C). Metallic scourer (C) is made of a mesh of intertwined stainless steel spiral strips. Metallic scourer (C) is shaped in the form of a cap into which the sponge (B) is partly inserted so that the metallic scourer (C) covers the top surface (1) of the sponge (B) and the lateral sides (2) of the sponge (B), whereas the ends (7) of the front and back sides (5) and ends (8) of the lateral sides (6) of the metallic scourer (C) enter the grooves (3) in the sponge (B). Instead of stainless steel strips, the metallic scourer is made of stainless steel wire or steel wool. Metallic scourer (C) shaped in the form of a cap is detached from the sponge (B) if necessary for cleaning the metallic scourer mesh of the collected dirt. The metallic scourer may also be shaped in the form of a flat plate which is fixed to the top surface of the sponge (B).

Description

SPONGE WITH METALLIC SCOURER
INVENTION DESCRIPTION
1. FIELD OF APPLICATION
The invention relates to the accessory intended for washing and cleaning in households and everywhere else where food is being prepared.
In the International Patent Classification, it is classified as Section A - Human necessities, Subsection A47 - Domestic articles, Class A47L - Domestic washing or cleaning, Group A47L 17/00 - Apparatus or implements used in manual washing or cleaning of crockery, table-ware, cooking-ware or the like, Subgroup A47L 17/06 - Scrapers and Subgroup A47L 17/08 - Pads; Balls of steel wool, wire, or plastic meshes.
2. TECHNICAL PROBLEM
Cookware, ovens and grills are washed and cleaned with sponges. Since sponges are soft, they are unsuitable for cleaning stubborn dirt or burned food remains, wherefore such dirts are cleaned with sponges provided with an abrasive layer or with metallic scourers or scrapers such as ball shaped stainless steel wires, stainless steel pads or steel wool pads. Hence, such cleaning and washing requires two separate accessories. The technical problem that is solved by this invention relates to production of a single washing and cleaning accessory consisting of both a sponge and a metallic scourer.
3. STATE OF THE ART
Today cookware, ovens and grills are washed and cleaned with sponges, sponges with abrasive layer and metallic scourers or scrapers such as ball shaped stainless steel wires, stainless steel pads or steel wool pads, that are being sold in shops separate from sponges. It is not known that on the market there is a sponge provided with a metallic scourer on it that are sold as a single product.
4. ESSENCE OF THE INVENTION
The essence of the invention is sponge with metallic scourer.
The metallic scourer is made of a mesh of intertwined stainless steel spiral strips.
The metallic scourer is shaped in the form of a cap into which the sponge is inserted with its one part,

Figure 2 shows sponge - perspective view
Figure 3 shows metallic scourer - perspective view

6. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF INVENTION EMBODIMENT AND FUNCTIONING
Sponge with metallic scourer A, Fig. 1 , consists of a sponge B and a metallic scourer C. The sponge B, Fig. 2, is well known part of washing and cleaning accessory. In the example of this invention, the sponge is presented with the grooves 3 in the sponge front and back sides. The sponge may have grooves in its lateral sides also.
The metallic scourer C is made of a mesh of intertwined spiral strips made of stainless steel, for example inox.
The metallic scourer C is shaped in the form of a cap, Fig. 3, 4, 5 and 6, whose front and back sides 5 and lateral sides 6 are slightly bent inwards to the underside, so that the ends 7 of the front and the back sides 5, and the ends 8 of the lateral sides 6 are forming a narrowed opening, Fig. 6, through which the sponge is partly inserted into the metallic scourer C, so that the metallic scourer C covers the top surface 1 of the sponge B and the lateral surfaces 2 of the sponge B, whereas the ends 7 of the front and the back sides 5 and the ends 8 of the lateral sides 6 of the metallic scourer C enter the grooves 3 in the sponge B, Fig.1.
The stainless steel strips are up to 0, 1 m thick and at least 0 5 mm wide, thus having sharp edges that scrape the stubborn dirt.
The metallic scourer mesh is intertwined to the required size, to fit the sponge size and shape.
Instead of stainless steel strips, the metallic scourer is made of stainless steel wire or steel wool.
Metallic scourer C shaped in the form of a cap is detached from the sponge B if necessary for cleaning the metallic scourer mesh of the collected dirt.
Metallic scourer C shaped in the form of a cap is also used on sponges with no grooves, so that the sponge without grooves is squeezed and inserted with its one part into the metallic scourer C.
The metallic scourer may also be shaped in the form of a flat plate which is fixed to the top surface of the sponge in any of the already known ways.
The sponge with metallic scourer is a washing and cleaning accessory that unites both sponge and metallic scourer into a single product, so that washing and cleaning of cookware and other surfaces in the kitchen no more require two separate accessories. Sponge is soft and is used for washing and cleaning lesser dirts. If there are stubborn dirts on the cookware, the sponge with metallic scourer is just flipped to the side with the metallic scourer and the burned food remains are scraped with it.
The sponge with metallic scourer is used in kitchens for manual washing and cleaning of cookware, ovens, grills, cookers and sinks containing burned food remains that did not immediately clean and so dried and became stubborn. Stubborn dirt cannot be cleaned with soft sponge only, nor with sponge with an abrasive layer that is much less effective in scraping than the metallic scourer made of stainless steel. Besides in kitchens, the sponge with metallic scourer may also be used in bathrooms, to clean surfaces on which fungi appeared, requiring more powerful scraping tools for cleaning that do not leave scraping traces, for cleaning sinks that are not maintained regularly and where various dirts have collected, and for cleaning other similar surfaces.
