Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a system comprising a flavouring substance, advantageously in the solid state, preferably powdered, even more preferably coffee powder.
  • a flavouring substance advantageously in the solid state, preferably powdered, even more preferably coffee powder.
  • Such system is a single-use capsule containing the flavouring substance or exploits a single-use pod containing the flavouring substance. It is to be remembered that the capsules have a casing made of plastic material, whereas the pods have a filter paper casing.
  • An espresso coffee extraction chamber is known starting from coffee powder in which a pod or a capsule can be positioned removably. To allow the dispensing of the beverage, hot water is introduced into the coffee extraction chamber and brought into contact with the coffee powder obtaining the espresso coffee that can be dispensed through a specific nozzle.

  • Such aluminium film in combination with a waterproof membrane that is located on the opposite side of the capsule makes the capsule self-protected, i.e. hermetically sealed with respect to the outside.
