Definitions

  • the present invention relates to the technical field of electronics, programmable electrical control, mechanics, medicine and physical rehabilitation, since it provides an apparatus for neck rehabilitation.
  • Rehabilitation is the process and the result of re-enabling, restoring or regaining the ability to move anywhere in the body.
  • the idea of physical rehabilitation is linked to the treatment that a person develops to recover the condition or condition that he lost due to an illness or other type of health disorder.
  • rehabilitation seeks to restore the capabilities of a patient with physical limitations.
  • the purpose is for the person to have an autonomous life, depending on the least possible degree of others.
  • Physical rehabilitation in a nutshell, points to body functionality.
  • the rehabilitation tasks are intended for the individual to improve their mobility and physical abilities from exercises, massages and other techniques.
  • the neck is one of the most mobile structures of the human body, supports the weight of the skull vault and thanks to its mobility in the three anatomical planes allows movements of flexion, extension, lateral flexion and rotation, it is also in relation to the waist scapular, and from its roots the spinal nerves that innervate both the motor and sensory to the shoulder girdle and upper limbs. For all this it is very important to take care of it to have a good mobility and avoid the annoying headaches, neck or arms that can cause.
  • the posterior muscles of the neck maintain the physiological lordosis of the cervical area, these tend to weaken, altering the cervical structure and may appear the dreaded rectifications.
  • Scapular dyskinesia is defined as the alteration of the synchronization in the scapulo-thoracic joint, which results in a variation in the position and normal movement of the scapula during shoulder movements. Cervical pain or neck pain is one of the most common conditions in the industrialized world. According to the International Association for the Study of Pain "International Association for the Study of Pain", 15% of the population will suffer chronic cervical pain at some time in their life. Recent studies have focused on the influence of the scapula and its dysfunctions in cervical pain.
  • Part of the cervical musculature has the scapula as an insertion zone, so an alteration in its functioning can influence the activity of the cervical spine, favoring the appearance of lesions in this region.
  • physiotherapy can be very beneficial to accelerate recovery, recover the ability to move and return to normal daily activities.
  • Physiotherapy applied to the discomfort and pain in the neck area includes both active treatments and passive treatments Passive treatments help to relax the body, while preparing it for therapeutic exercise, which is the active part of physiotherapy.
  • Some of the most common active treatments to treat neck pain with physiotherapy include:
  • Thermotherapy is a discipline that consists of applying heat through conduction, convection or radiation, with methods as diverse as the application of paraffin and infrared radiation, both at the surface and at the deep level of the tissues. Among its most prominent advantages are pain relief, increased blood flow and decreased blood pressure.
  • Cryotherapy as opposed to thermotherapy relies on the application of cold to obtain therapeutic effects.
  • the systems used are also many, as well as the benefits for the patient, among which are pain reduction, resorption of edema, disinflammation and increased muscle tone.
  • Muscle stretching or self-elongation is a static discipline, which is done effortlessly. It consists of slowly stretching certain muscles, starting from a certain posture, which is maintained for a few seconds, during which the breath must not be held, and then the posture is relaxed again. They improve stress, contractures, and return to the cervical spine its characteristic curve (physiological lordosis), indicated in people with discomfort in shoulders, arms, neck (tension headaches), dizziness or noise in the ears.
  • An immobilization device includes one or more pillars with multiple segments that protect a user's head and spine. The pillars generally extend along the part of the head, the spine and the pelvis, which is what the device protects.
