- the battery abnormality monitoring method of the terminal device Before describing the battery abnormality monitoring method of the terminal device, the battery abnormality monitoring system of the terminal device, and the terminal device, the following describes the battery structure in the terminal device and its possible security risks.
- lithium-ion batteries are mainly composed of a battery cell and a battery protection system.
- the battery cell is called the "heart" of a lithium-ion battery, and contains a positive and negative electrode material, an electrolyte, a separator, and a casing, and the battery is external. Protection System.
- the positive electrode material of the battery cell is a lithium molecule material such as lithium manganate or lithium cobalt oxide, which determines the energy of the battery, and the negative electrode material is graphite.
- the separator is placed between the positive and negative electrodes of the battery. Generally speaking, the separator is like a kind of paper, which is folded in a small battery box. The separator is filled with positive and negative materials and electrolyte.
- the external electric field activates the lithium molecules in the positive electrode material to the negative electrode and stores them in the voids of the graphite carbon structure. The more lithium molecules are driven, the more energy is stored.
- the lithium ions in the negative electrode are driven to the positive electrode. Lithium ions become lithium molecules in the original cathode material, so that the battery is charged and discharged.
- the separator is mainly used to completely separate the positive and negative materials of the cell. Once the positive and negative electrodes are in direct contact, the internal short circuit of the battery will occur, which brings certain safety hazards, so the separator should not be too thin. Too thin can easily cause damage to the separator.
- manufacturers are beginning to look for batteries with higher energy density. For example, by filling more positive and negative materials to increase the energy density of the battery, but in the same volume, the more positive and negative materials are filled, the separator becomes thinner and thinner, and the battery is subjected to external impact and extrusion. When the puncture or other damage occurs, it is easy to cause damage to the separator, which may cause a short circuit inside the battery.
- lithium ions may accumulate in the positive and negative electrodes, and when it accumulates, it will produce a crystal branch like the crystal we see a lot of things, and the crystal branch will slowly Lengthening, in this process, it is possible to pierce the separator to cause an internal short circuit of the battery, and the above-described example shows the case where the battery is temporarily short-circuited and then restored to the original state due to external mechanical damage. More obvious, it is easier to cause the internal short circuit of the battery to occur again.
- the so-called fast charge is the process of fast charging the secondary rechargeable battery.
- the charging process of the battery may include one or more of a trickle charging phase, a constant current charging phase, and a constant voltage charging phase.
- the current feedback loop can be utilized such that the current entering the battery during the trickle charge phase meets the expected charge current of the battery (eg, the first charge current), for example, when the voltage is below 3.0V, 100mA is used.
- the charging current precharges the battery.
- the current feedback loop can be utilized such that the current entering the battery during the constant current charging phase satisfies the magnitude of the charging current expected by the battery (eg, the second charging current, which can be greater than the first charging current), such as
- the charging current can vary from 0.1 C to several C, where C refers to the battery capacity.
- standard charging is charging with a charging current of 0.1 C, and fast charging means charging at a current of more than 0.1 C at this stage to complete charging in a short time.
- the voltage feedback loop can be used to make the voltage applied to both ends of the battery during the constant voltage charging phase satisfy the expected charging voltage of the battery, for example, when the battery voltage is equal to 4.2V, enter the constant voltage charging phase, this stage
- the charging voltage is constant at 4.2V.
- the charging current will become smaller and smaller.
- the charging current is less than 100mA, the battery can be judged to be full.
- the charging current in the constant current charging phase, since the charging current is relatively large, for example, the charging current can be 0.2C to 0.8C, and some can even reach 1C, and the charging process of the battery is an electrochemical reaction process, which is inevitably accompanied by heat.
- the isolation film is damaged, it is easy to cause a short circuit between the positive and negative electrodes. Once the short circuit occurs, more heat is generated and the electrolyte is vaporized.
- the internal pressure of the battery core increases. When the air pressure reaches a certain level, the strength of the outer casing cannot withstand, the outer casing will crack, causing an explosion, and a battery fire will occur when an open flame is encountered.
- the battery has an internal short circuit, it indicates that the battery is abnormal. At this time, the battery has certain safety hazards, which may cause a safety accident during use.
- the inventors of the present application have found that the voltage of the battery is relatively stable under normal use conditions based on continuous research and experiments on the battery for many years, but when the battery is damaged, a short circuit may occur inside the battery. The battery voltage will suddenly drop, and this voltage abrupt signal is very strong. The inventors have also verified the existence of this voltage abrupt phenomenon through a large number of experiments. Therefore, from the test results, as long as the battery is damaged, a signal with a sudden change in voltage will appear.
- this application proposes an effective abnormal monitoring method for whether the battery is abnormal.
- terminal device used in the embodiments of the present invention may include, but is not limited to, being configured to be connected via a wire line (such as via a public switched telephone network (PSTN), digital subscriber line (DSL), digital Cable, direct cable connection, and/or another data connection/network) and/or via (eg for cellular networks, wireless local area networks (WLANs), digital television networks such as DVB-H networks, satellite networks, AM-FM broadcasts

- FIG. 2 is a flowchart of a battery abnormality monitoring method of a terminal device according to an embodiment of the present invention. As shown in FIG. 2, the battery abnormality monitoring method of the terminal device may include the following steps:
- the voltage abrupt monitoring module can be used to detect whether a battery has a sudden voltage change.
- the battery voltage variation can be monitored in real time through a differential amplifying circuit, which may include resistors R1 and R2, a capacitor C1, and a differential amplifier X1, wherein one end of the resistor R2 is connected to the positive pole of the battery, and the resistor The other end of R2 is connected to the negative input terminal of the differential amplifier.
- the resistor R1 and the capacitor C1 form an RC voltage regulator filter circuit.
- One end of the resistor R1 is connected to the negative input terminal of the differential amplifier X1, the other end of the resistor R1 is grounded, and the capacitor C1 and the resistor are connected.
- the differential amplifier circuit can realize real-time monitoring of the battery voltage change, and can judge whether the battery voltage is abrupt according to the output signal of the differential amplifier circuit.
- the charging current of the battery can be obtained by detecting the current of the charging circuit of the battery, and the current of the discharging circuit of the battery can be detected to obtain the discharging current of the battery, wherein the charging current of the battery It is monitored during the charging process of the terminal device, and the discharge current of the battery can be monitored during the operation of the terminal device.
- the present invention captures the voltage.
- the occurrence of the fall determines whether the battery is currently abnormal.
- the voltage drop may also be caused by battery charging and discharging. For example, when the system load draws current from the battery, the battery voltage will also fall, or the battery is charging. If the charging current disappears, the battery voltage will also drop, so this The invention detects the voltage abrupt phenomenon of the battery while detecting the charge and discharge current of the battery, thereby being able to accurately determine whether the battery is abnormal at present.
- the discharge current of the battery can be detected by the discharge current detecting module.
- the discharge current detecting module may include: an eighth resistor R8, a ninth resistor R9, a tenth resistor R10, a third comparator X3, an eleventh resistor R11, and a fourth comparator X4.
- one end of the eighth resistor R8 is connected to the negative pole of the battery, the other end of the eighth resistor R8 is connected to the positive pole of the battery through a system load, and the eighth resistor R8 is a current detecting resistor; one end of the ninth resistor R9 and the eighth resistor R8 One end of the tenth resistor R10 is connected to the other end of the eighth resistor R8, the negative input terminal of the third comparator X3 is connected to the other end of the ninth resistor R9, and the positive input terminal of the third comparator X3 is connected The other end of the ten resistor R10 is connected, and the eleventh resistor R11 is connected between the negative input terminal and the output terminal of the third comparator X3; the positive input terminal of the fourth comparator X4 is connected to the output terminal of the third comparator X3.
- the negative input terminal of the fourth comparator X4 is connected to the reference voltage supply terminal, and the output terminal of the fourth comparator X4 outputs a discharge current detection signal to determine whether the discharge current of the battery is less than a preset discharge current threshold according to the discharge current detection signal.
- the discharge current detecting module detects the discharge current of the battery through the current detecting resistor R8, so that when the battery voltage is suddenly detected by the differential amplifying circuit, if the battery discharging current flowing through the current detecting resistor R8 is greater than or equal to the preset discharging current Threshold, it can be judged that the sudden change of the battery voltage is because the voltage of the system load is instantaneously dropped from the current drawn by the battery, and the voltage is not instantaneously dropped by the damage of the battery; when the battery voltage is suddenly detected by the differential amplifier circuit, if the current is changed If the battery discharge current of the overcurrent resistor R8 is less than the preset discharge current threshold, it is judged that the current drawn by the system load from the battery is insufficient to cause the voltage to drop.
- the positive input terminal voltage of the fourth comparator X4 is smaller than the reference voltage of the negative input terminal, and the fourth The comparator X4 outputs a low level, and it can be judged that the sudden change of the battery voltage is not because the voltage of the system load is instantaneously dropped from the current drawn by the battery, but the voltage caused by the damage of the battery is instantaneously dropped.
- the preset discharge current threshold may be 30 mA.
- the charging current of the battery is less than the preset charging current threshold, it can also be judged whether the sudden change of the battery voltage is caused by the charging of the battery or caused by the damage of the battery, and will not be described in detail here.
- the charging current of the battery is less than the preset charging current threshold or the discharging current of the battery is less than the preset discharging current threshold, it is determined that the battery is currently abnormal, and the battery is passed through the first latch. The abnormal state is latched.
- the preset charging current threshold and the preset discharging current threshold can be calibrated according to actual conditions.
- the present invention by detecting the charging current and the discharging current of the battery, when the battery has a sudden voltage change, if the charging current of the battery is greater than or equal to the preset charging current threshold I Charge or the discharging current of the battery is greater than or equal to The preset discharge current threshold I Discharge is considered to be caused by battery charge and discharge.
- the charging current signal also disappears when the charging current disappears, it is necessary to delay the charging current signal.
- delaying the charging current signal of the battery by a first preset time wherein the first preset time may be specific The situation is calibrated.
- the battery voltage drops, and the charging current of the battery is less than the preset charging current threshold I Charge or the discharging current of the battery is less than the preset discharging current threshold I Discharge , it is determined that the battery voltage is dropped to the battery damage, and the battery can be checked.
- the manner of the table to determine that the battery voltage drop is caused by the damage of the battery determine that the battery is currently abnormal, and the abnormal state of the battery is damaged by the first latch.
- the inventors have found through extensive tests and experiments that the voltage of the battery is relatively stable during normal use, but once the battery is subjected to external mechanical damage such as dropping, impacting, squeezing, puncture, etc. At this point, the battery voltage will be abrupt. Therefore, the battery abnormality monitoring method of the terminal device according to the embodiment of the present invention monitors the charging and discharging current of the battery while monitoring whether the battery has a sudden voltage change phenomenon, so that when the battery voltage jumps, if the charging current or the discharging current of the battery respectively If the change is subtle, it is judged that the battery is damaged at this time, an internal short circuit occurs, and it is judged that the battery is abnormal at present, and there is a certain safety hazard.
- the preset value may be greater than or equal to 10 mV.
- the battery for example, the battery is 5mA-6mA output
- the battery has a voltage drop of more than 10mV due to damage.
- the first preset time can be calibrated in milliseconds, for example, 0.1-5 milliseconds.
- the curve 1 indicates the voltage change curve when the battery is slightly damaged
- the curve 2 indicates the voltage change curve when the battery is seriously damaged
- the curve 3 indicates the voltage change curve when the battery does not receive the damage normally. It can be seen from curve 1 that when the battery is slightly damaged, the battery voltage instantaneously changes from 3.8V to 3.63V and then recovers to about 3.8V. From curve 2, when the battery is seriously damaged, the battery voltage instantaneously changes from 3.8V to 3.51V. It recovers to nearly 3.8V. It can be seen from curve 3 that the battery voltage is basically stable at 3.8V when the battery is not damaged normally.
- curve 1, curve 2 and curve 3 it can be known that the battery is damaged by external mechanical damage, for example, Impact, extrusion, puncture, etc., at this time, the battery voltage will be abrupt, that is, an instantaneous drop occurs, and the magnitude of the voltage drop is different depending on the degree of damage.
- the present invention detects the voltage drop of the battery instantaneously. To monitor whether the battery is currently damaged, and once the battery voltage is detected to fall instantaneously, it is necessary to further determine the charge and discharge current of the battery, and it can be determined that the battery may be damaged at this time, and an internal short circuit occurs.
- the battery voltage is abruptly caused by the sudden change of the battery voltage.
- the battery charge and discharge current is also monitored. If the charge and discharge current of the battery changes slightly, the battery is currently affected. An abnormality occurs in the loss, and there is a safety hazard.
- the battery abnormality monitoring method of the terminal device detects the battery charge and discharge current by detecting whether the battery voltage suddenly jumps, thereby accurately determining whether the battery is abnormal or not, and thereby being able to When the loss occurs, it can be monitored in real time, and timely reminders and repairs can be realized to avoid the safety hazard caused by the abnormal battery, and the safety of the terminal device is greatly improved.
- the temperature detecting module and the voltage detecting module in the terminal device are also enabled through the first latch, so that the temperature detecting module
- the temperature and voltage detecting module of the detecting battery detects the voltage of the battery to recognize the abnormal state of the battery according to the temperature of the battery and the voltage of the battery.
- the load draws a small current from the battery (less than the preset discharge current threshold I Discharge ) or a small charging current (less than the pre-charge) Setting the charging current threshold I Charge ) disappears, which may also cause a sudden voltage change in the battery. Therefore, in the embodiment of the present invention, in order to improve the monitoring accuracy and prevent erroneous judgment, after the abnormal state of the battery is latched by the first latch, it is necessary to judge the temperature of the battery and the voltage of the battery. Reconfirm whether the battery is currently abnormal.
- the abnormal state of the battery is re-identified according to the temperature of the battery and the voltage of the battery, including: determining a temperature of the battery and a voltage of the battery, respectively; If the temperature of the battery is less than a preset temperature threshold or the voltage of the battery is less than a preset voltage threshold, determining that the battery does not currently have an abnormality; if the temperature of the battery is greater than or equal to a preset temperature threshold and the battery If the voltage is greater than or equal to the preset voltage threshold, it is determined that the battery is in an abnormal state.
- the voltage detecting module detects whether the voltage before the battery falls is greater than The preset voltage threshold V before (the voltage detecting module includes a voltage holding circuit capable of maintaining the voltage information before the voltage is dropped), and the temperature detecting module detects whether the temperature of the battery is greater than a preset temperature threshold T Bat , so that the voltage of the battery is less than
- the voltage threshold V before or the temperature of the battery is less than the preset temperature threshold T Bat , it is considered that the battery voltage drop is caused by the excessive internal resistance of the battery, and the first latch needs to be reset; and the voltage of the battery is greater than or equal to the preset.
- the voltage threshold V before and the temperature of the battery is greater than or equal to the preset temperature threshold T Bat , it is considered that the battery voltage drop is confirmed due to battery damage, and the output of the first latch is kept unchanged, and it
- the first latch is reset to The abnormal state of the battery latched in the first latch is cleared. And re-identifying the abnormal state of the battery according to the temperature of the battery and the voltage of the battery to determine that the battery is in an abnormal state, maintaining an abnormal state of the battery by the first latch Latch.
- the battery is abnormally output through the first latch.
- Status flag is used for system detection of the terminal device, so as to perform subsequent actions according to the flag bit, for example, limiting the use of the battery.
- the terminal device when the battery abnormal state flag is detected, the terminal device is also controlled to issue a reminder message that the battery is abnormal, and the abnormal battery can also be marked.
- the user when it is detected that the battery is abnormal, the user needs to be reminded.
- you can pass the reminder message "Battery safety message: Dear customer, your battery is currently in an abnormal state due to damage, for your safe use, please go to *** customer service The outlet performs inspection and maintenance, thank you!” Remind the user; as another example, when the user is reminded by the reminder information shown in FIG. 5, the user can also be reminded by blinking the indicator light on the terminal device.

Description

before(电压检测模块含有电压保持电路,能够保持电压跌落前的电压信息),并通过温度检测模块检测电池的温度是否大于预设温度阈值T
before(电压检测模块含有电压保持电路,能够保持电压跌落前的电压信息),并通过温度检测模块检测电池的温度是否大于预设温度阈值T
