Abstract

A container having an opening, an operatively upper region and an operatively lower region, with an outer side wall and an inner side wall extending between the upper and lower regions and a transition zone extending between upper ends of the outer and inner side walls is provided. The inner side wall defines a reservoir with a mouth in the upper region and a blind end in the lower region. The reservoir meets the outer side wall to provide a measurement area on the outer side wall. In some embodiments, the container may be used for receiving biological samples.
