Description

AN OVEN COMPRISING SHELF SUPPORT MADE OF WIRE
The present invention relates to an oven comprising shelf supports made of wire, fixed on the side walls of the oven.
In ovens, the trays in which food to be cooked are placed, are supported by various methods in the body surrounding the cooking chamber. For example, said trays are placed on the guides on the side walls of the body. The guides are positioned in cooking levels predetermined by the producer for varying food types. Telescopic rails mounted on guides, are also used in the state of the art, by means of which a user can easily load and unload trays. Such telescopic rails are used for the trays to be brought in full-length at disposal out of the oven.
In the state of the art, wire shelf supports are mounted by being riveted on the side walls of an oven. However, crackings occur on the enamel coating due to riveting, with adverse effects on perceptional quality. In addition, the structures used for fixing a wire shelf support, are produced by means of particular processes, and consist of several of parts. Their production is thus difficult, increasing the labor costs. In addition, defects occurring during such processes create imbalances on the wire shelf, and the telescopic rails thus come loose. Furthermore, during transportation, the wire shelf support escapes from its seat due to jolting, and damages the oven body, thereby increasing the service breakdown ratio.
State of the art European patent application no. EP1840473 discloses an oven with wire shelf supports on which telescopic rails are placed. In this document, the wire shelf support is mounted on the side walls by means of extensions.
Another state of the art embodiment is the European patent application no. EP1553352. In this document, the wire shelf support is fixed on a side wall by means of a connecting piece.
Another state of the art document, European patent no. EP1590606 discloses a wire shelf support fixed on an oven side wall by means of a connecting piece.
Another state of the art document is the European patent no. EP1553349. The wire shelf support is fixed on a side wall by means of also a connecting piece in this document.
Another state of the art document, international patent application no. WO2010012593 discloses an oven comprising a guide placed on a telescopic rail, enabling adjusting the position of a tray.
The aim of the present invention is to realize an oven comprising a wire shelf support mounted easily and securely on the side walls of said oven.
The oven realized to achieve the aim of the present invention and disclosed in the first claim and the dependent claims, comprises a connecting piece having a first holder fixed to a side wall, supporting from one side a pin inserted therethrough, and a second holder supporting said pin at a point other than the point where the first holder supports. This enables the pin to counteract in a stronger manner the forces applied thereon. In the preferred embodiment of the invention, the shelf support made of wire is enabled to be mounted rapidly and correctly on the side wall.
In an embodiment of the invention, the pin is supported from above by the first holder, and is supported from below at different points by the second holder.
In an embodiment of the invention, the connecting piece comprises an “L” shaped locking projection abutting the side wall, a tab shaped locking member, and a cut-out, wherein the locking member is fixed to an edge of the cut-out and extends towards the base. When a force is applied on the locking member it moves towards the cut-out, and returns back to its previous position when the force is removed. The locking member is enabled to flex thanks to the cut-out.
In an embodiment of the invention, the first holder comprises a first cascade extending with an inclination from the side wall towards the axis on which the pin is supported, and a second cascade extending in the horizontal plane as an extension of the first cascade, on which a groove is provided. The groove guiding the advancing movement of the pin enables the pin to correctly advance between the first and the second holders. In this embodiment of the invention, the second holder also extends from the side wall with an inclination towards the axis on which the pin is supported, and comprises a recess provided in its center, in which the pin rests. The side walls of the recess contacts the walls of the pin, preventing the pin from tilting to the sides. The pin is enabled to be mounted correctly and rapidly on the connecting piece thanks to the groove and the recess. This enables the shelf support also to be mounted correctly and rapidly on the side wall, and prevents the shelf support from vibrating.
By means of the invention, the pin is supported at separate points by the first and the second holders, thereby preventing the pin from getting damaged and enabling the pin to be easily attached and detached by being simply guided by means of the groove and the recess. In addition, the shelf support is easily and rapidly mounted by means of the connecting piece.
By means of the invention, the risk of the shelf support escaping the side wall by moving forward, is minimized, avoiding motions such as vibrating due to jolting likely to occur during transportation.
An oven realized to achieve the aims of the present invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawings, wherein:

The oven (1) comprises a cooking chamber having two side walls (2), in which the materials to be cooked are placed, two shelf supports (3) provided opposite each other on the side walls (2), positioned on separate levels predetermined by the producer, at least one seat provided on the side wall (2), at least one pin (5) enabling the shelf support (3) to be fixed on the side wall (2), and a plurality of connecting pieces (4) fixed on a side wall (2) by being mounted to the seat, having:
  • a base (7),
  • a hole (6) provided on the base (7), in which the pin (5) is inserted,
  • a first holder (12) extending from an edge of the base (7) and supporting the pin (5) passed through the hole (6),
  • and a second holder (13) extending from the other edge of the base (7) and supporting the pin (5) at a point other than the point where the first holder (12) supports the pin (5).
In the preferred embodiment of the invention, the shelf support (3) is made of wire.
In an embodiment of the invention, the connecting piece (4) is fixed on the side walls (2) through the seat. Then, the pin (5) is passed through the hole (6) on the base (7) of the connecting piece (4). The pin (5) rests between the first holder (12) extending preferably from the upper edge of the base (7), and the second holder (13) extending preferably from the lower edge of the base (7). In this case, the pin (5) is supported at separate points, namely from above by the first holder (12), and from below at other points by the second holder (13).
In an embodiment of the invention, the connecting piece (4) comprises at least two preferably “L” shaped locking projections (9) provided on two opposite edges of the base (7), abutting on the side wall (2) when the connecting piece (4) is mounted on the side wall (2). In this embodiment of the invention, the connecting piece (4) comprises two lateral walls (8) extending from the base (7), two preferably tab shaped locking members (10) provided on said lateral walls (8), and a cut-out (11), wherein the locking member (10) is fixed to an edge of said cut-out (11) and extends towards the base (7). When a force is applied on the locking member (10), it moves towards the cut-out (11), and returns back to its previous position when the force is removed.
In the preferred embodiment of the invention, the distance between the locking projections (9) and the locking members (10) is at least as much as the wall thickness of the side wall (2). The connecting piece (4) and the side wall (2) are thus compressed between the locking projections (9) and the locking members (10) provided on the connecting piece (4).
In an embodiment of the invention, the first holder (12) comprises a first cascade (16) extending from a lateral wall (8) with an inclination towards the pin (5), and a second cascade (17) extending in the horizontal plane as an extension of the first cascade (16), on which a groove (14) is provided. The pin (5) completely rests, in fact embedded in the groove (14). The groove (14) guiding the advancing movement of the pin (5) enables the pin (5) to correctly advance between the first and the second holders (12 and 13). In this embodiment of the invention, the second holder (13) extends from the other lateral wall (8) with an inclination towards the pin (5), and comprises a recess (15) provided in its center, in which the pin (5) rests. The pin (5) guided by the groove (14), is enabled to rest in the recess (15). The side walls of the recess (15) contact the walls of the pin (5), preventing the pin (5) from tilting to the sides. The pin (5) is enabled to be mounted correctly and rapidly on the connecting piece (4) thanks to being fitted into the groove (14) and the recess (15). This enables the shelf support (3) also to be mounted correctly and rapidly on the side wall (2), and prevents the shelf support (3) from moving and vibrating on the side wall (2).
In the embodiment of the invention, the connecting piece (4) is mounted to the side wall (2) as follows: First, the connecting piece (4) is inserted to the seat opened on the side wall (2) until the locking projections (9) abut the side wall (2). During this operation, the perimeter wall of the seat applies a force on the locking members (10) provided on the lateral walls (8) of the connecting piece (4). The locking members (10) move by flexing towards the cut-out (11), enabling the connecting piece (4) to be inserted into the side wall (2). The locking members (10) return to their previous positions upon escaping from the perimeter wall of the seat, and the end of a locking member (10) abuts the side wall (2) from its rear surface. In the meanwhile, the side wall (2) is compressed in between by the locking projections (9) from front and by the locking members (10) from behind. The connecting piece (4) is thus fixed on the side wall (2), unless an external force is applied thereon. In this case, the pin (5) is mounted on the connecting piece (4) as follows: The pin (5) is inserted into the hole (6) provided on the base (7) of the connecting piece (4) fixed to the seat and opening to the internal volume of the oven (1). The pin (5) mounted on the connecting piece (4) is at least partially surrounded between the first holder (12) and the second holder (13), by the groove (14) and the recess (15). The pin (5) is supported at separate points by the first and the second holders (12 and 13), thereby preventing the pin (5) from getting damaged and enabling the pin (5) to be easily attached and detached by being simply guided by means of the groove (14) and the recess (15).
By means of the invention, the shelf support (3) is easily and rapidly mounted on the side wall (2) by means of the connecting piece (4).
