Description

POLLUTION CONTROL DEVICE
FTFUD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an air purification device for reducing atmospheric pollution. BACKGROUND OF INVENTION
Figure imgf000002_0001
Air pollution is generally known as a contamination of air with poisonous gases, pollen grains, dust particles, micro-organisms and the like. The sources of air pollution include vehicles or factories emitting hazardous gases, smoke, pollen grains and the like. The polluted air may cause damages to various elements of the environment such as plants, animals, human beings. For example intake of polluted air may cause respiration problems and lung diseases to human beings.
Various attempts have been taken to reduce and maintain reduced pollution level in the atmosphere that includes improving exhaust systems of vehicles, factories. The system and methods for reducing air pollution involve high cost and complex mechanisms. The methods and systems disclosed in the prior art control emission of pollutants into the atmosphere but they fail to purify the polluted air consistently.
Accordingly, there is need of an air purification device that purifies polluted air and controls the level of pollution in an atmosphere and maintains the same.
SUMMARY OF THF TNVFNTTON

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS
Figure imgf000003_0001
FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a device for controlling air pollution;
FIG. 2 is an exploded view of the device of FIG. 1 ; and
FIG. 3 is a photographic representation of the device of FIG. 1 mounted on a vehicle in accordance with an embodiment.
DETATEED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
Although specific terms are used in the following description for sake of clarity, these terms are intended to refer only to particular structure of the invention selected for illustration in the drawings, and are not intended to define or limit the scope of the invention.
In general aspect, the present invention provides a device for air pollution control. The device includes a filter for filtration of atmospheric air that passes through the device. The device works with or without any external aid such as motorized fans or other suction means for absorption of air in the device or for working of the device.
The present invention is illustrated with reference to the accompanying drawings, throughout which reference numbers indicate corresponding parts in the various figures. Referring to FIGS. 1 and 2, a device in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention is shown. The device (100) includes an inlet jacket (110) having a mounting flap (102), a perforated jacket (120) and a filter cartridge (130). The inlet jacket (110) has the perforated jacket (120) removably attached thereto at a rear portion thereof. The inlet jacket (110) includes the filter cartridge (130) positioned therein at a predefined location.
In accordance with an embodiment, the inlet jacket (110) is made up of a sheet material of polythene or a suitable fabric or metal or sheet metal or Plastics or a suitable material to withstand harsh outdoor environmental conditions. The inlet jacket (110) has a rectangular shape having a slight taper towards end portion thereof that defines a venturi profile.
The venturi profile facilitates an inlet air to pass through the device with a greater speed. The inlet jacket (110) includes the perforated jacket (120) attached at rear portion thereof. The perforated jacket (120) comprises layers of meshes of suitable materials. In this one embodiment, the perforated jacket (120) is removably attached to the inlet jacket (110). In accordance with an embodiment, the inlet jacket (110) includes the filter cartridge (130) positioned therein at a predefined location. The filter cartridge includes a plurality of layers of meshes having size of about PM 2.5 to about PM 10 (Not Shown) and a scrubbing unit (Not Shown). The meshes are made up of mix of materials such as Recron, SS Stripes, Cabon Infusion , bio degradable Material and the like along with set of chemical infusion as suitably required. The scrubbing unit includes chemicals such as Triethylyne Glycol, Sodium Hydroxide other chemicals and the like for odor control, neutralization and absorption of harmful gases. In this one embodiment, one replaceable filter cartridge is positioned in the inlet jacket (110). However, it is understood here that number of replaceable filter cartridge (130) may vary in alternative embodiment of the present invention. Referring to FIGS. 1-3, in operation, in accordance with an embodiment, the device (100) is positioned at a predefined location of a vehicle (300). In this one embodiment, only one device (100) is positioned on a top portion of the four wheeler vehicle 300 by using the mounting flap (102). As the vehicle 300 starts moving, an ambient air enters the device (100) through the inlet jacket (110). The ambient air then passes over the filter cartridge (130) that filters the air. The filtered air then passes through the perforated jacket (120) before leaving to the atmosphere. However, it is understood here that number of devices (100) may vary in alternative embodiments of the present invention.
In another embodiment of the present invention, the inlet jacket (110) may be equipped with a plurality of fans to facilitate entry of the ambient air in the device (100). The fans may be powered by using motors running on the power of battery of the car/vehicle or solar panels or replaceable battery packs, fuel cell or other suitable power source of the similar like positioned on the device (100).
In alternative embodiments of the present invention, the device (100) may be mounted on a two wheeler, HMV (Heavy Motorised Vehicles), busses, trains, or other forms of moving or stationary vehicles in suitable form and at a suitable location. The device (100) may also be mounted at suitable location of buildings, houses, factories and the like. The device (100) works without any external source like motor or battery in case where fans are not used for suction of air. The device (100) is reusable. The device (100) is made up of flexible material, has light weight and occupies less place. The device (100) eliminates the use of complex and costly mechanism. The device (100) may be made up of eco-friendly material that facilitates easy degradation of the device (100) after complete utilization thereof. The embodiments of the invention shown and discussed herein are merely illustrative of modes of application of the present invention. Reference to details in this discussion is not intended to limit the scope of the claims to these details, or to the figures used to illustrate the invention.
It is understood that various omission and substitutions of equivalents are contemplated as circumstance may suggest or render expedient, but such are intended to cover the application or implementation without departing from the scope of the present invention.
