Description
The present invention relates to a dishwasher with improved washing efficiency.
As is known, dishwashers generally comprise upper and lower racks which are placed in the washing tub and wherein the kitchenware to be washed are placed. Each rack can be moved out of the washing tub so as to enable the dishes to be placed into the rack or taken out of the rack. Under each rack a spray arm, connected to the water line, is disposed, that rotates and sprays water onto the items placed on the rack. The washing process is realized by spraying the water received from the main delivery line onto the dishes by means of the spray arms. The spraying elements provided on the spray arm enable the water to be sprayed onto the dishes at a certain pressure. Thus, the dishes are enabled to be cleaned. In the washing step, the water is sent onto the dishes at a higher pressure in order to remove the dirt on the dishes. In the rinsing step, the water is delivered to the spray arms at a lower pressure in order to prevent the dirt removed from the dishes from sticking again onto the dishes. The water pressure is adjusted by means of a circulation pump. However, the water received from the mains being sprayed through the same nozzles in the washing and rinsing steps causes the flow rates of the water in said steps to be close to each other. Consequently, the dirt and detergent residues stick again onto the dishes in the rinsing step, and the washing and rinsing performances decrease.

In the washing step, the spray arm (5) is in the first position (A). In the first position (A), the pressure of the water delivered to the spray arm (5) is higher. By means of the high pressure water, the mouth portion (14) of the second closure member (11) opens and allows water passage. The water flows only through the second duct (9). Thus, the washing performance is increased. When the spray arm (5) is in the second position (B), the pressure of the water delivered to the spray arm (5) is lower. Under low water pressure, the mouth portion (14) of the second closure member (11) remains closed and the water is delivered only to the first duct (8) by passing through the opening (16). Thus, the rinsing performance is increased.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the dishwasher (1) comprises the rinsing nozzle (6a) with a diameter that is smaller than that of the washing nozzle (6b). The water is sent so as to have a smaller surface area by means of the rinsing nozzle (6a) with the smaller diameter. Thus, the dirt and detergent residues can be removed from the dishes.
By means of the present invention, a dishwasher (1) with increased washing efficiency is realized. The washing nozzles (6b) and rinsing nozzles (6a) provided on the spray arm (5) enable the water to be sprayed onto the dishes at different speed and with different cross-sectional areas in the washing and rinsing steps. Thus, the washing and rinsing performances are increased. The spray arm (5) is fixed to the washing tub (3) by means of a connection element (7). The first closure member (10) and the second closure member (11) are provided on the connection element (7).
