Description
The present invention relates to a dishwasher, the washing effectiveness of which is increased.
Dishwashers comprise upper and lower racks that are placed in the washing tub and wherein kitchenware items such as pots, plates, etc. are placed. Under each rack a spray arm, connected to the water line, is disposed, that sprays water onto the objects placed on the rack. In state of the art, auxiliary washing elements are provided, that spray extra water to the regions in the rack where relatively dirty dishware are placed and that enable the said region to be effectively cleaned. However, the auxiliary washing elements with complex designs increase production costs. Therefore, spray arms with a simple design that don’t increase production costs and provide ease of utilization are required.
In the state of the art European Patent Application Document No. EP1549196, a dishwasher is disclosed, having a nozzle that extends from the side of the spray arm and that sprays water to a region of the rack situated thereabove.
The aim of the present invention is the realization of a dishwasher, the washing effectiveness of which is increased.
The dishwasher realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention, explicated in the first claim and the respective claims thereof, comprises a washing tub, a rack that is disposed into the washing tub and whereon the kitchenware to be washed are loaded, a spray arm, preferably disposed around the rack, that sprays water into the washing tub by rotating around itself, and a water supply line that enables water to be received from the mains and delivered to the spray arm.
The dishwasher of the present invention comprises at least one channel arranged on the water supply line so as to enable water to be delivered into the washing tub, and at least one portable regional washing member that can be attached to/detached from the channel and that sprays water into the washing tub when placed on the channel by opening the channel that is closed to the washing tub. The place of the regional washing member can be changed along the water supply line that extends preferably on the base of the washing tub. Thus, the regional washing member is positioned so as to scan the region where dirtier kitchenware is placed.
In an embodiment of the present invention, a valve is provided, that has a free position wherein water is prevented from leaking from the channel into the washing tub by closing the channel and an open position whereto the valve is changed by being pushed as the regional washing member is mounted on the channel.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the dishwasher comprises a valve that is disposed on each channel and that prevents water entry into the washing tub when the regional washing member is not used by closing the end of the channel opening into the washing tub. Thus, the user can select the desired channel and can perform effective washing in the region around the selected channel. In the meantime, the channels not required to be used are kept in the free position.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the regional washing member comprises a plug disposed thereon. The regional washing member is mounted on the channel by means of the plug.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the regional washing member comprises a drive pin that is disposed on its end placed on the channel and that enables the valve to change from the free position to the open position by bearing against the valve when the regional washing member is placed in the channel.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the regional washing member comprises a spraying nozzle with at least one spraying opening that sprays water into the washing tub.
In a derivative of this embodiment, the spraying nozzle is elliptical and can scan a wide area during the water spraying process due to its broad form.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the spraying nozzle increases washing performance by at least partially rotating around the axis where it is mounted to the channel with the pressure of water filling into the regional washing member.
In a derivative of this embodiment, at least two water spraying openings facing opposite directions enable the spraying nozzle to rotate around the axis it is connected to while spraying water into the washing tub.
A dishwasher realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention is illustrated in the attached figures, where:
Figure 1 – is the schematic view of the dishwasher related to an embodiment of the present invention.
Figure 2 – is the perspective view of the dishwasher when the regional washing member is not mounted related to an embodiment of the present invention.
Figure 3 – is the perspective view of the dishwasher while the regional washing member is mounted related to an embodiment of the present invention.
Figure 4 – is the perspective view of the water supply line, the channel and the valve related to an embodiment of the present invention.
Figure 5 – is the view of detail A in Figure 3.
Figure 6 – is the perspective view of the regional washing member related to an embodiment of the present invention.
The elements illustrated in the figures are numbered as follows:
- Dishwasher
- Washing tub
- Rack
- Spray arm
- Water supply line
- Channel
- Regional washing member
- Valve
- Plug
- Drive pin
- Spraying opening
- Spraying nozzle
The dishwasher (1) comprises a washing tub (2), a rack (3) that is disposed into the washing tub (2) and wherein the items to be washed are loaded, a spray arm (4) that is disposed under the rack (3) and that sprays water into the washing tub (2) by rotating around itself, and a water supply line (5) that supplies the spray arm (4).
The dishwasher (1) of the present invention comprises at least one channel (6) that is arranged on the water supply line (5) such that one end remains inside the water supply line (5) and the other end opens into the washing tub (2), and at least one regional washing member (7) that is mounted detachably on the channel (6) and that enables water to be sprayed from the channel (6) into the washing tub (2) when mounted on the channel (6). By means of the detachable regional washing member (7), the regions where dirty dishes are placed are enabled to be cleaned more effectively and the washing performance of the dishwasher (1) is increased.
In an embodiment of the present invention, a valve (8) is provided, that has a free position wherein it is closed and an open position whereto the valve (8) is changed as the regional washing member (7) is mounted on the channel (6).
In an embodiment of the present invention, the dishwasher (1) comprises a valve (8) that is disposed on each channel (6) and that prevents water from passing from the channel (6) into the washing tub (2) by at least partially closing the channel (6). The regional washing members (7) are mounted on the channels (6) in the regions where effective washing performance is required to be performed. Thus, while some of the channels (6) are kept in the free position, some of them can be changed to the open position.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the regional washing member (7) comprises a plug (9) that is disposed thereon and that enables the regional washing member (7) to be mounted into the channel (6). The plug (9) has a geometry that enables the regional washing member (7) to go in and out of the channel (6).
In an embodiment of the present invention, the regional washing member (7) comprises a drive pin (10) that is disposed on the plug (9) and that enables water to fill into the regional washing member (7) by pushing the valve (8) towards the water supply line (5) when the plug (9) is placed into the channel (6).
In an embodiment of the present invention, the regional washing member (7) comprises a spraying nozzle (12) having at least one spraying opening (11) that sprays water into the washing tub (2).
In an embodiment of the present invention, the spraying nozzle (12) enables the region around the channel (6) whereon it is mounted to be sprayed with water by at least partially rotating around the point where it is mounted by means of the pressure of water filling into the regional washing member (7).
In a derivative of this embodiment, at least two water spraying openings (11) facing opposite directions enable the spraying nozzle (12) to rotate around the axis whereto the latter is connected while spraying water onto the rack (3).
In an embodiment of the present invention, the cross-sectional area of the channel (6) gets narrower from the water supply line (5) towards the washing tub (2). Thus, water proceeds towards the spraying nozzle (12) with increasing pressure and the washing effectiveness of the dishwasher (1) is increased.
By means of the present invention, the kitchenware that are hard to clean and need effective washing can be placed in any region on the rack (3) by means of the regional washing member (7), the location of which on the water supply line (5) can be changed. Any additional apparatus or control mechanism is not required since the channel (6) opens/closes mechanically by being attached to/detached from the regional washing member (7). By means of the simple design of the regional washing member (7), production costs are decreased and ease of utilization is provided.
