Abstract

The invention relates to means for carrying out electronic commerce and auctions. An automated online system and method for providing online credit services include: registering participants in the system by means of a processor, said participants being divided according to their status at least into the categories of borrowers and lenders, authorizing said participants and providing access to an online trading platform in accordance with their status within the system, collecting and collating information about credit offers from lenders, including interest rates and terms of acceptance, receiving an interest rate proposal from a lender and a sealed proposal regarding a minimum acceptable interest rate, receiving a counter-proposal from a borrower with information about an interest rate proposed by the borrower, depositing funds on the borrower's bank card in favour of the trading platform, and comparing the borrower's proposed interest rate and the lender's terms with respect to the credit amount and interest rate. If the interest rate proposed by the borrower is not less than the lender's minimum acceptable interest rate, the borrower's proposal is accepted and the funds deposited by the borrower are returned from the account of the trading platform to the borrower's bank card account.
