Definitions

  • This invention regards the areas of apparel and hand or travel accessories, and more specifically the hybrid jacket - bag or hybrid bag - jacket.
  • these bags are usually considered as of specific purpose and use, as for example office bags, sport bags, or laptop bags. Seldom can they be used concurrently for more than one needs, and are they not destined for specific and individual use.
  • the hybrid jacket - bag In research of one piece of clothing that will cover concurrently both needs, the one of clothing and the other of storing, the hybrid jacket - bag was created. It is a multi-useful object in the shape of a jacket that serves as a storing unit and it also covers the need to protect from weather phenomena at the same time. It suggests a new vision in the known backpacks; a moving unit where no technical characteristics are apparent to onlookers.
  • the hybrid jacket - bag that is here presented, consists of one unified main body, practically of flat form.
  • the main body includes an interior and an exterior part, of multifaceted shape with at least two essentially parallel bases and sides that connect the upper and lower bases, respectively.
  • two openings are designed, of elliptical shape and of an appropriate size, so that the human arm can go through.
  • the openings are placed symmetrically to the sides, close to the respective joint of the upper base.
  • the interior and the exterior parts are sewn perimetrically with each other, as well as around the openings, so that the interior and the exterior parts form a storing pocket, in between the openings.
  • the seams are distributed so that they form one or more openings, non-visible when the jacket - bag hybrid is extended.
  • the jacket - bag hybrid includes at least one opening along its upper base.
  • the hybrid jacket - bag has at least two modes to be used:
  • the first mode it consists of three units; the back unit, that is defined by the outline of the storing space on the interior and exterior part; and two hand units, where each hand unit is defined from the rest of the interior and exterior part around the elliptical openings.
  • the hand units can be symmetrical to each other in some implementations.
  • a bag as a bag, it consists of two units, that are formed by folding along the vertical line that goes through the half of its upper and lower base, so that the two elliptical holes can coincide geometrically and form one common opening.
  • the upper part of the jacket can have a zip, placed in the seam that is along the nape.
  • the zip of the storing area can cover all the length of the seam. By opening it, one gets access to the main storing area that covers all the interior surface of the jacket.
  • a pocket can be found, that can serve for example to protect electronic devices, that can be zipped and unzipped, made of flexible material, e.g. polyurethane foam (PL ) .).
  • this pocket will be called pocket of protection of electronic devices, although it can equally serve for other storing uses, as well.
  • one more, smaller pocket can be added, that can be also zipped and unzipped.
  • a hidden pleat in the lower part of the jacket— bag hybrid, can be added along the seam, held with a zip, that can cover approximately 2/4 of the length of the seam, and can be placed in its middle. This pleat may serve to extend the current main storing area. When this extension zip is used, the cloth gets unfolded, increasing the capacity of the bag.
  • two zips can be placed, parallel and opposite to each other, respectively.
  • Each zip can give access to a pocket.
  • These pockets can be independent. It is not required to be connected with the pocket that covers all the interior surface of the jacket.
  • a holding belt can be placed inside each pocket. When this belt is outside of the pocket, then it can be considered as it is in an open position. Otherwise, it can be considered that it is in a closed position. Whether the belt is in an open or a closed position, the pocket zip can be closed so that the content of the pocket is kept safe. Moreover, closing the zip when the holding belt is in an open position contributes to the stabilization of the holding belt.
  • the two holding belts When the two holding belts are connected, they can secure the bag adjusting it on the body, and thus succeeding in its better application. Connecting the two holding belts can be achieved either by tying them to each other, or by using different accessories such as buckles, magnets, clips, tridents, etc. In the latter case, a slide bar buckle is added in one of the two holding belts.
  • an extra mechanism to adjust the size of the bag can be placed at the area of the shoulder blade.
  • This mechanism can consists of two parts, and its length can be equal to the length of the zip of the central storing area.
  • the first part can be a belt slide bar buckle, fixed at the height of the shoulder blade.
  • the second part can be a folded belt slide bar buckle, whose two edges can be fixed on exactly the same height of the shoulder blade, forming a noose.
  • the belt that is on the one side can go through the slide bar buckle, so that changing the size of the bag can be possible.
  • the jacket - bag hybrid because of its shape, can serve a wide area of applications: the same object can be used as an office bag, as a bag to transfer electronics (e.g. tablet, laptop), as a bag to ride the bike, etc., while it can also function as an article of clothing that protects the person who wears it under any weather conditions. It protects the objects it carries, together with the body that carries them.

  • the zip can be either of single or of double route (preferable), so that it is easier for both right-hand and left-hand users to use it.
  • zipper stops can be added on the zips of the central storage area and the expansion zip, so that the least possible damage in the points that these two zips are attached, is achieved and so that they also contribute in best holding parts (A), (E) and (B).
  • the belts can either be knotted with each other, or they can be connected by using different accessories, such as magnets, buckles, clips, tridents. In the latter case, a slide bar buckle is attached on the belt.
  • the hybrid jacket - bag is transformed in a shoulder bag (FIG. 16) in the following way: by folding vertically points (A) and (B) on the symmetrical axis, so that point (B12) coincides with point (B11 ) and point (B14) with point (B13). This way, the openings from which the user can pass his hands and hang the bag on his shoulder also coincide.
  • the straight line (B12)-(B14) can be placed in the front, so that the user of the object has access to the pockets that are created by connecting parts (Z)-(H) and (l)-(K).
  • the jacket - bag hybrid is converted to a shoulder bag in another way, as well: by passing the user's hand through the size changing belt, the user can hang the bag on his shoulder, in the preferred height, as described above.
  • Figures 17 and 18 depict variations of the hybrid jacket - bag, with storing area for a hood in the exterior view of the point (B) (EXTB).
  • the case for the hood can be placed below the size changing belts (400) and (500) and it can close with a zip. By opening it, the hood, that is by made by waterproof material, is available to use.
  • FIG. 19 Another alternative variation is the one with the additional sleeves, as depicted in FIG. 19.
  • Zips are placed perimetrically of the openings on points (B) and have been created by connecting the following points: (B4)-(B10), (B6)-(B8), (B5)- (B7) and (B3)-(B9). Placing a zip in the above points creates extra storing space, where the sleeves, also by waterproof material, will be stored compressed, when not in use. By opening its zip, a sleeve is unfolded, converting the jacket to a coat.
