Description

    TECHNICAL FIELD
  • The disclosure relates generally to carrying system and more specifically it relates to an undergarment for carrying a tablet or other electronics device and utilized for quick and easy concealed storage of a tablet or other electronics device enabling hands free mobility.
  • BACKGROUND
  • The increasing popularity and availability of portable electronic devices has resulted in an increasing demand for portability solutions for such portable electronic devices, which include backpacks, brief cases, and specialty carrying apparatus designed to carry such portable electronic devices and the like. In general, garments are known which have pockets such as business or sports shirts with small pockets for carrying writing instruments, sunglasses, and cell phones and hiking pants, shorts and vests with small and medium pockets (sometimes called cargo pockets), and hunting jackets with large gear game bags integrated into the jacket for carrying survival gear to wild game via side and top loading pockets. Such top loading pockets typically have flaps with a hook and loop fastening system to secure the flap over the opening or a zippered opening to secure contents in a safe and secure location within the pocket. Moreover, garment with side entry pockets are known that utilize a clear film such as plastic integrated into the exterior face of the pocket to enable a user or third party to see the contents of the pocket or electronics device being displayed or access a touch through screen. However, such garments with side entry pockets do not allow for other clothing or garments to be worn over the under garment since such over garment would prevent viewing and entry and exit of an electronic device from the side entry pocket.
  • Moreover, backpacks, luggage and carrying cases are known which include side and top loading compartments, pockets and pouches for carrying clothing, shoes, electronic devices, toiletries, books and school supplies. Such side and top loading compartments, pockets and pouches typically have flaps with a hook and loop fastening system to secure the flap covered opening or a zippered opening to secure contents in a safe and secure location within the mobile pocket. Furthermore, toiletry and luggage bags and purses are known that include zippered bottom compartments with a compartment opening facing upward are utilized for carrying shaving cream, shampoo, conditioner or other like large toiletry items. A variety of devices have been proposed for use in concealing wallets, cash, credit cards and guns or other weapons such as knives by affixing a carrying case to a person.
  • However, these backpacks, brief cases, and specialty carrying apparatus lack a pouch positioned on the carriers torso with a down ward facing opening to the pouch for secure retention and convenient exit and entry of a storage item such as an electronic device. Therefore, it is readily apparent that there is a recognizable unmet need for a garment with carrying pouch and support system for secure retention, convenient stowing of portable electronic devices, hands-free portability, enablement of garments to be worn over the under garment, and a support system to distribute the weight of the storage item such as an electronic device across the body to prevent shirt distortion or sagging.
  • BRIEF SUMMARY
  • Briefly described, in an example embodiment, the present apparatus overcomes the above-mentioned disadvantages and meets the recognized need for a garment with carrying pouch and support system comprising, in general, a garment such as a tee shirt, a pouch integrated into the back of the garment having a downward opening, adjustable shoulder and waist straps affixed to the pouch to shift weight from the neck area to the shoulders and waist, a smooth liner covering the interior of the pouch to ease insertion of the device therein, and a stiffener to maintain the pouch in the shape of the device, and, thus such garment, functions as a hands-free, removeably secure device retention, storage and support system.
  • According to its major aspects and broadly stated, the present system meets the recognized need for a garment with carrying pouch and support system comprising, in general, an upper torso carrying apparatus for transport of a storage item including: a garment to be worn over the upper torso, a pouch integrated to the garment, at least one opening formed in the pouch, wherein at least one opening is positioned approximate a bottom edge of the pouch and opens downward to enable access to the pouch from below, and at least one closure system affixed to the opening, at least one closure system utilized to open and close the opening, one or more straps affixed to the pouch, strap configured to distribute the pouch across the upper torso to prevent garment distortion and sagging.
  • In a further exemplary embodiment of an upper torso carrying apparatus for transport of a storage item including: a garment to be worn over the upper torso, a pouch integrated to the garment, at least one opening formed in the pouch, wherein at least one opening is positioned above a bottom edge of the pouch and opens downward to enable access to the pouch from below, and at least one closure system affixed to the opening, at least one closure system utilized to open and close the opening, one or more straps affixed to the pouch, strap configured to distribute the pouch across the upper torso to prevent the storage item from falling out of the pouch.
  • Accordingly, a feature of the garment with carrying pouch and support system is its ability to provide a garment having a downward opening pouch for convenient exit and entry of a storage item such as an electronic device.
  • Another feature of the garment with carrying pouch and support system is its ability to integrate an adjustable support system within the garment to distribute the weight of the pouch from across the neck area of the garment to the shoulders and waist to prevent shirt distortion or sagging.
  • Still another feature of the garment with carrying pouch and support system is its ability to provide a bottom entry pocket reinforced with a two stage retention system, the first stage being hook and loop and the second stage being a zipper for secure retention of a storage item such as an electronic device.
  • Yet another feature of the garment with carrying pouch and support system is its ability to provide a stiff backing that may be positioned in an inner pocket to maintain the pouch in pre-determined form to ease sliding a storage item such as an electronic device in and out of the pouch and to provide extra support to protect the storage item from damage when sitting.
  • Yet another feature of the garment with carrying pouch and support system is its ability to provide a smooth interior to ease sliding a storage item such as an electronic device in and out of the pouch and to provide extra cushioning to protect the storage item from damage when sitting.
  • Yet another feature of the garment with carrying pouch and support system is its ability to transport a storage item such as an electronic device discretely and securely.
  • Yet another feature of the garment with carrying pouch and support system is its ability to slide a storage item such as an electronic device into the pouch as a result of the combination stiff backing and smooth interior of the pouch.
  • Yet another feature of the garment with carrying pouch and support system is its ability to provide left and/or right handed tab pulls and left and/or right handed zipper for secure retention of a storage item such as an electronic device in the pouch.
  • Yet another feature of the garment with carrying pouch and support system is its ability to provide an under-garment to be worn underneath an over-shirt or other casual or dress over shirt.
  • Yet another feature of the garment with carrying pouch and support system is its ability to provide ease of operation wherein a wearer simply un-tucks their over shirt and slides the storage item such as an electronic device into the pouch whether right or left handed.
  • Yet another feature of the garment with carrying pouch and support system is its ability to be utilized by either right or left handed users.
  • Yet another feature of the garment with carrying pouch and support system is its ability to provide a conduit between the pouch and a user's hands or head.
  • Yet another feature of the garment with carrying pouch and support system is its ability to provide a lightweight shirt that can be worn underneath your normal casual or dress shirt.
  • Yet another feature of the garment with carrying pouch and support system is its ability to simply un-tuck an outer shirt and slide a storage item such as an electronic tablet into the carrying pouch.
  • Yet another feature of the garment with carrying pouch and support system is its ability to provide a comfortable way to securely and discretely carry a storage item such as an electronic tablet in all settings.
  • Yet another feature of the garment with carrying pouch and support system is its ability to provide a garment with carrying pouch and support system that cannot be left behind like a traditional backpack or tote bag, since the garment with carrying pouch and support system is never removed from the wearer.
  • Yet another feature of the garment with carrying pouch and support system is its ability to provide another level of security for those looking to protect their valuable storage item such as an electronic tablet.
  • These and other features of the trim assembly will become more apparent to one skilled in the art from the following Brief Description of the Drawings, Detailed Drawings, Detailed Description and Claims when read in light of the accompanying drawings.
