Definitions

  • the present invention is encompassed in the field of swimming accessories, in particular those preferably used during learning and improvement of the swimming technique. BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • Another accessory that is known is a float accessory disposed at the ankles of the swimmer, as in the patent with publication number US9259632, with the same purpose of providing flotation and immobility to the legs.
  • the swimmer is a passive subject, no muscular action is needed, he must not act in any way on it, with what he does not It gets no learning effect as far as the lower train is concerned.
  • the object of the invention is a swimming accessory that involves the muscular action of part or all of the swimmer's lower train even when it is arranged between the legs of the swimmer.
  • the technical problem to solve is to configure the accessory to reach the aforementioned object.
  • the present invention relates to a swimming accessory suitable for being arranged between the legs of a swimmer, comprising a central section with a first end, a second end, a first curved side face and a second curved side face; at each end, first and second, of the central section there are two arms: first and second at the first end, third and fourth at the second end; the first and second arm are aligned with each other, the third and fourth arm are aligned with each other, each arm comprises an internal face -first, second, third and fourth- oriented towards the corresponding side face of the central and curved section, the first face internal connects with the first side face and this with the third internal face to configure a first larger opening; the second internal face connects with the second lateral face and this with the fourth internal face for configuring a second greater opening; each of the larger openings forms a circumferential portion.
  • the configuration of the accessory makes that in addition to the adductor muscles, it can involve all the abdominal waist muscles (known as "core” by its English name), to stabilize the displacement with the accessory and transfer later this learning and conditioning to the swim without the accessory, being forced the movement of legs in its use between the legs, since the nervous activation that causes is the main function derived from the use of the accessory, causing a later pseudo-unconscious transfer when following the Central Nervous System (CNS) activating the coordinated movement of the actions of arms and legs in their proper use.
  • CNS Central Nervous System
  • Another advantage is that when it is a float accessory, it raises the swimmer's lower train, and having an area facing the water higher than normal, because the arms of the accessory extend more than usual, provides a desirable displacement resistance in a workout to promote muscle development.
  • the accessory can be placed on the neck for exercises of flotation and relaxation, suitable for aquatic presentations of elderly people, children, babies, therapies, etc.
  • It can also be used as a plate by holding hands, without or with the support of the forearms along the attachment, even introducing the wrists by the circumference portions or the openings, thus arranging in front of the swimmer to force a specific leg work, contributing an added resistance when moving frontally to the swimmer's advance.
  • An advantage related to the projections of claims 5 to 7 is that the haptic stimulation of the same improves both the positions of the different segments that make up the propulsive areas such as the legs, such as body alignment by having indistinct elements in both legs both for the isolated work of the action of the legs and the action of arms, even of the combined action, own of the complete swim.
  • the functional explanation is that it causes the stimulation of the mechanoreceptors through the dispositions or stimuli designed in their area of contact with the legs, so that the central nervous system discriminates in the appropriate positions and angles since the water being a fluid, subtle and malleable prevents this stimulation, leaving without its use, a wide margin for error.
  • the nervous mechanisms of equilibrium make it possible to learn the different coordination of swimming styles by involving myofascial chains characteristic of these equilibria such as the Posterior Oblique Subsystem (POS) and the Deep Longitudinal Subsystem (DLS).
