Definitions

  • the present invention relates to applicators for applying a cosmetic product to human keratin materials and more particularly, but not exclusively, to applicators for applying nail varnish, eyeliner, lip product or eyeshadow.
  • the invention also relates to a packaging and application device and to a makeup method.
  • cosmetic product is understood to mean any product as defined in Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of November 30, 2009 on cosmetic products.

  • Applicator pens which are more practical to use, are also known. However, the performance of these pens is sometimes inferior to that which it is possible to obtain with complex shapes of known applicator end pieces that are produced by injection-molding or by machining a felt tip.
  • FR 2 933 281 describes an applicator comprising a stem and an applicator end piece that is borne by the stem, which is able to deform during use and which makes it possible, depending on the orientation selected, to draw two lines with different thicknesses.

  • the invention thus aims to further improve applicators for applying cosmetic product to keratin materials and it achieves this by virtue of a cosmetic application member with longitudinal axis X having a bundle of synthetic polymer fibers, the fibers extending at least partially along the axis X, and the bundle having a central core defined by a first hardness, and an outer envelope arranged around the central core and formed by fibers at least partially bonded to each other by a resin, the outer envelope being defined by a second hardness, the ratio of the second hardness to the first hardness is between 1.2 and 100, the bundle continuing, in a direction away from its distal end, by delimiting an end face and the end face defines, in longitudinal section along the axis X, a bevel of angle ⁇ at the distal end of the application member.
