Description

Head mounted display
This disclosure relates to a head mounted display.
Conventionally, a head-mounted display (HMD) that is mounted on the user's head and displays an image so that the user can visually recognize various displays is known. Patent Document 1 discloses a head mounted display including a display unit and a head holding holder for holding the display unit on a user's head. The head holding holder is formed by a belt made of a flexible belt-like material such as cloth, and the head holding holder is wound around the user's head and fastened, so that the display unit is in front of the user's eyes. Placed in.
In order to adjust the position of the display unit, a position adjustment unit such as a ball joint that can rotate with respect to the head holding holder may be provided in the display unit. When a force is applied to the position adjustment unit during position adjustment of the display unit, the mounting position of the head holding holder with respect to the user's head is displaced, which makes it difficult to adjust the position of the display unit.
This disclosure is intended to provide a head-mounted display that can effectively prevent the mounting position from shifting even when a rotatable adjustment unit is operated.
The head-mounted display according to the present disclosure includes a mounting unit that is mounted on a fastening member that is wound around an outer periphery of a user's cap, a display unit that displays an image, and the display unit that is rotatable with respect to the mounting unit An adjusting portion coupled to the cap body, the mounting portion being engageable with an edge portion of the cap body, and a first end that is an end portion of the mounting portion on the side where the engaging portion is provided. A holding portion capable of holding the fastening member at a second end opposite to the portion, and between the first end and the second end, and closer to the engaging portion than the holding portion. It is characterized by comprising a connecting portion that connects to the adjusting portion at a position close to the adjusting portion.
The head mounted display (hereinafter referred to as “HMD”) according to the present disclosure is fixed to the cap body by the mounting portion and the fastening member, and the display portion is disposed in front of the user's eyes. The first end portion of the mounting portion is engaged with the edge portion of the cap body by the engaging portion. The connecting portion connected to the adjusting portion is provided at a position between the first end portion and the second end portion and closer to the engaging portion than the holding portion. When the position of the display unit is adjusted using the adjustment unit while the HMD is mounted on the cap body, the force is applied to the connecting portion, so that the engaging portion engages with the edge of the cap body. Rotational moment can act on the mounting part. Since the mounting portion includes a holding portion at a second end opposite to the first end where the engaging portion is provided, the second end of the mounting portion is fastened to the cap body by a fastening member. The rotational moment due to the force with which the second end side of the mounting portion is fastened to the cap body can act in a direction to cancel the rotational moment acting on the connecting portion. In addition, since the connecting part is provided closer to the engaging part than the holding part, even if a force is applied to the connecting part when adjusting the position of the display part using the adjusting part, the holding part is fastened to the cap body. The mounted part is difficult to rotate. Therefore, the HMD according to the present disclosure can effectively prevent the attachment position from shifting even when the rotatable adjustment unit is operated.
The holding part may have a groove part slidably provided with respect to the fastening member.
In this case, the user can adjust the position of the mounting portion by moving the mounting portion along the holding portion by sliding the groove portion of the holding portion with respect to the fastening member. Therefore, HMD can make a user adjust the attachment position of HMD with respect to a cap body easily.
The head mounted display may include an arm connected to the display unit and coupled to the mounting unit via the adjustment unit.
In this case, the HMD can widen the adjustment range of the position of the display unit according to the length of the arm.
The engaging portion includes a first wall portion extending from the first end portion toward the second end portion side, and the first end portion and the second end portion are connected to the first wall portion. You may engage with the edge part of the said cap body on the opposite side to the side in which the said connection part is provided in the direction which cross | intersects the direction to connect.
The edge of the cap body may have a shape that spreads outward from the cap body. Even in this case, since the engaging portion includes the first wall portion, the HMD can improve the stability of the mounting portion with respect to the cap body by bringing the edge portion of the cap body into contact with the first wall portion. .
The holding portion includes a second wall portion extending from the first end portion side toward the second end portion side, and the second end portion of the second wall portion from the second end portion side to the first end portion. You may provide the 3rd wall part extended in the direction which cross | intersects with respect to the direction which connects said 2nd end part.
The fastening member is easy to move from the edge of the cap toward the top in a state wound around the outer periphery of the cap. Since the holding portion includes a third wall portion that intersects the direction connecting the first end portion and the second end portion on the second end portion side of the second wall portion, the fastening member is provided in the second portion of the mounting portion. It can hold | maintain in the position of an edge part side, and can prevent that a fastening member pulls out toward the top part of a cap body.
The engaging portion includes a fourth wall portion extending from the first wall portion toward a side opposite to the side where the connecting portion is provided, and an end of the fourth wall portion on a side away from the first wall portion. And a rib extending toward the second end portion from the portion.
The 4th wall part with which an engaging part is provided regulates that the mounting part with which the cap body was mounted | worn moves toward the top part from the edge part of a cap body. In addition, when the position of the display unit is adjusted using the adjustment unit, or when the position of the mounting unit is adjusted with respect to the cap body, a force directed from the inside of the cap body to the outside is applied to the mounting unit. There is. Even in this case, since the engaging portion includes the rib, it is easy to maintain the state where the edge of the cap body is engaged with the engaging portion. Therefore, HMD can prevent that a mounting part remove | deviates from a cap body.

As shown in FIG. 1, the arm 9 has a substantially rod shape and is made of resin, metal, or the like. The arm 9 extends in the vertical direction. The upper end portion of the arm 9 is connected to the connecting portion 84 of the mounting portion 8 via the first ball joint 2 described later. The lower end of the arm 9 is connected to the display unit 4 via a second ball joint 3 described later. That is, the arm 9 is connected to the display unit 4 and coupled to the mounting unit 8 via the adjustment unit 72.
The mounting unit 8 and the arm 9 hold the display unit 4 on the head of the user U in a state where the mounting unit 8 is mounted on the helmet H. In this case, the user U can arrange the display unit 4 on the front side of the left eye U1. Although not shown, the user U may reverse the mounting portion 8 in the left-right direction and mount it on the left edge of the helmet H. In this case, the user U can arrange the display unit 4 on the front side of the right eye U2.
3 and 4, the first ball joint 2 includes a ball stud 21 and a socket 22. The ball stud 21 includes a sphere portion 21A, a rod portion 21B, and a base portion 21C (see FIG. 4). The spherical portion 21A is a spherical portion. The spherical portion 21A is provided at the end of the ball stud 21 opposite to the arm 9 side. The rod portion 21B is a cylindrical portion that extends rightward from the spherical portion 21A. The bar portion 21 </ b> B is inserted into a circular hole 22 </ b> A provided in the socket 22. The diameter of the cross section of the rod portion 21B is smaller than the diameter of the spherical portion 21A. The base 21C is connected to the opposite side of the sphere 21A side of the bar 21B (see FIG. 3). The base portion 21 </ b> C fits into a recess 911 (see FIG. 4) formed in the upper end portion of the left surface of the arm 9. As a result, the ball stud 21 is fixed to the arm 9.
As shown in FIG. 4, the bar portion 21B of the ball stud 21 extends from the upper end portion of the arm 9 along a virtual line 212 extending radially from the center 211 of the spherical body portion 21A, and bends diagonally downward to the right. It further extends along 213. The base portion 21C is connected to the opposite side of the spherical portion 21A in the rod portion 21B. The base 21 </ b> C of the ball stud 21 fits into the recess 911 of the arm 9 from the left side. A hole (not shown) penetrating in the left-right direction is formed at the bottom of the recess 911. A screw 912 is inserted into the hole from the right side to the left side. The screw 912 is screwed into a screw hole provided in the base portion 21C. Thereby, the ball stud 21 is fixed to the arm 9 by the screw 912. The socket 22 supports the sphere part 21A of the ball stud 21 so as to be slidable. The socket 22 is connected to the connecting portion 84 of the mounting portion 8.
In this case, as shown in FIG. 3, the ball stud 21 can rotate in the direction indicated by the arrow 2A around the virtual line 212. Further, the ball stud 21 is a range in which the rod portion 21B does not contact the hole 22A of the socket 22 (a range surrounded by a virtual conical surface 214 connecting the center 211 of the spherical portion 21A and the inner end of the wall portion 221). ) In the direction indicated by the arrow 2B. Therefore, the first ball joint 2 can rotate about the mounting portion 8 and the arm 9 about the center 211 of the spherical portion 21A as the rotation center by sliding the spherical portion 21A of the ball stud 21 with respect to the socket 22. Connect to
As shown in FIG. 3, the second ball joint 3 includes a ball stud 31 and a socket 32. The ball stud 21 includes a sphere portion 31A, a rod portion 31B, and a base portion (not shown). The shapes of the spherical portion 31A, the rod portion 31B, and the base portion are the same as the shapes of the spherical portion 21A, the rod portion 21B, and the base portion 21C of the ball stud 21. The rod portion 31 </ b> B is inserted into a circular hole 32 </ b> A provided in the socket 32. The base fits into a recess (not shown) formed at the lower end of the left surface of the arm 9. As a result, the ball stud 31 is fixed to the arm 9.
The rod portion 31B of the ball stud 31 extends from the lower end portion of the arm 9 along a virtual line 312 that extends radially from the center 311 of the spherical portion 31A. The socket 32 slidably supports the spherical portion 31A of the ball stud 31. The socket 32 is connected to the display unit 4 and supports the ball part 31A of the ball stud 31 so as to be slidable.
In this case, the ball stud 31 can rotate in the direction indicated by the arrow 3A around the virtual line 312. Further, the ball stud 31 is a range in which the rod portion 31B does not contact the hole 32A of the socket 32 (a range surrounded by a virtual conical surface 314 connecting the center 311 of the spherical portion 31A and the inner end of the wall portion 321). ) In the direction indicated by the arrow 3B. Therefore, the second ball joint 3 can rotate about the arm 3 and the display unit 4 about the center 311 of the sphere 31A as the rotation center by sliding the sphere 31A of the ball stud 31 with respect to the socket 32. Connect to
The adjustment unit 72 and the arm 9 are interposed between the display unit 4 and the mounting unit 8. The adjustment unit 72 can adjust the position of the display unit 4 with respect to the left eye U1 of the user U by adjusting the position of the display unit 4 with respect to the mounting unit 8 to be rotatable.
As shown in FIGS. 1 to 3, the display unit 4 includes a housing 41. The housing 41 has a hollow box shape. As shown in FIGS. 1 and 3, the connecting portion 43 extends from the right end portion of the rear surface of the housing 41 toward the rear side. A socket 32 of the second ball joint 3 is connected to the connection portion 43. As shown in FIG. 2, the left side of the housing 41 is opened. The left side of the lens unit housed in the housing 41 is exposed. A half mirror 42 is provided in the opening of the housing 41. A lens unit, a focus adjustment mechanism, and a liquid crystal unit are accommodated in the housing 41. The half mirror 42, the lens unit, and the liquid crystal unit are arranged in order from the left side to the right side. The focus adjustment mechanism has an operation member 44. The operation member 44 is disposed on the front surface of the housing 41.
The liquid crystal unit emits image light by displaying an image. The lens unit guides the image light emitted from the liquid crystal unit to the half mirror 42. The focus adjustment mechanism moves the lens unit in the left-right direction according to the rotation of the operation member 44. The user U can adjust the focus of the display unit 4 by rotating the operation member 44.
The half mirror 42 has a rectangular plate shape. One of the two surfaces of the half mirror 42 faces obliquely rearward to the right. The other surface of the both surfaces of the half mirror 42 faces left diagonally forward. The half mirror 42 can reflect a part of incident light (for example, 50%) and transmit the other part. The half mirror 42 can reflect the image light that passes through the lens unit and enters from the right side to the rear side. The left eye U1 of the user U can visually recognize a virtual image based on the image light reflected rearward by the half mirror 42. Further, the half mirror 42 can transmit light from the outside to the rear side.
The details of the mounting portion 8 will be described with reference to FIGS. The base part 81 forms a main body part of the mounting part 8. The engaging portion 82 includes a first extending portion 821, a second extending portion 822, a third extending portion 823, and a rib 824. The first extending portion 821 extends from the lower end portion of the base portion 81 toward the right side. The second extending portion 822 extends downward from the right end portion of the first extending portion 821. The third extending portion 823 extends from the lower end portion of the second extending portion 822 toward the left side. The rib 824 extends upward from the left end of the third extending portion 823. The left surface of the second extending portion 822 forms a first wall portion 822A that extends substantially vertically from the upper surface of the third extending portion 823, that is, from the lower end portion 8A side to the upper end portion 8B side of the mounting portion 8. A connecting portion 84 is provided at the approximate center of the right surface of the second extending portion 822. The upper surface of the third extending portion 823 forms a fourth wall portion 823A extending from the first wall portion 822A toward the left side, that is, toward the side opposite to the right side where the coupling portion 84 is provided in the engaging portion 82. . The rib 824 extends from the left end portion of the fourth wall portion 823A, that is, the end portion of the fourth wall portion 823A on the side away from the first wall portion 822A toward the upper end portion 8B side of the mounting portion 8. The first wall portion 822A extends in the up-down direction. The vertical length of the rib 824 is shorter than the vertical length of the second extending portion 822. A gap 82 </ b> A is formed between the upper end portion of the rib 824 and the connection portion between the first extending portion 821 and the base portion 81.
As shown in FIG. 4, the right edge H <b> 1 </ b> A of the cap body H <b> 1 enters inward from the gap 82 </ b> A of the engaging portion 82 in a state where the mounting portion 8 is mounted on the helmet H. Accordingly, the engaging portion 82 is on the left side of the first wall portion 822A, that is, on the opposite side to the side where the connecting portion 84 is provided in the engaging portion 82 in the direction intersecting the first wall portion 822A in the vertical direction. , Engage the lower edge of the right side of the helmet H. Although the shape of the helmet H is various, the helmet H may have a shape spreading outwards like a rain guard H3 at the lower edge. The first wall portion 822A extends in the vertical direction at a position outside the lower edge portion of the helmet H engaged with the engaging portion 82. Thus, any position of the portion of the lower edge portion of the helmet H that spreads outward easily comes into contact with the first wall portion 822A. Since the lower edge portion of the helmet H abuts on the first wall portion 822A, the position of the engaging portion 82 with respect to the helmet H in the left-right direction is stabilized.
FIG. 4 shows a state in which the upper end portion of the rain guard H3 on the right side of the cap body H1 is in contact with the substantially central portion in the vertical direction of the first wall portion 822A. The helmet H may not have the rain guard H3, but the lower edge portion of the helmet H engaged with the engaging portion 82 is the lower surface of the first extending portion 821, which is inside the engaging portion 82, the first wall. It can be in contact with at least one of the portion 822A, the upper surface of the third extending portion 823, and the right surface of the rib 824. FIG. 4 shows an imaginary line 829 that is a straight line passing through a position where the upper end portion of the rain guard H3 contacts the first wall portion 822A.
3 and 4, the holding portion 83 includes a first portion 831, a second portion 832, and a third portion 833. The first portion 831 extends upward from the upper end portion of the base portion 81. The vertical length of the first portion 831 is slightly longer than the vertical length of the fastening member 7. The plate thickness of the first portion 831 is thicker than the plate thickness of the base portion 81, and the left surface of the first portion 831 protrudes to the left of the left surface of the base portion 81. The right surface of the first portion 831 forms a second wall portion 831A that continuously and smoothly extends at the same position in the left-right direction as the right surface of the base portion 81. The second wall portion 831A extends orthogonally to the left-right direction, that is, from the lower end portion 8A of the mounting portion 8 toward the upper end portion 8B. The second portion 832 extends from the upper end portion of the first portion 831 toward the right side. The length in the left-right direction of the second portion 832 is substantially the same as the length in the left-right direction of the first extending portion 821 of the engaging portion 82. The second portion 832 is substantially orthogonal to the vertical direction. The lower surface of the second portion 832 forms a third wall portion 832A extending substantially perpendicularly from the upper end portion of the second wall portion 831A, that is, in a direction intersecting with the up-down direction in which the second wall portion 831A extends. The third portion 833 extends downward from the right end portion of the second portion 832. The main plane of the third portion 833 faces in the left-right direction. The third portion 833 is separated from the first portion 831 on the right side. The vertical length of the third portion 833 is longer than the vertical length of the first portion 831.
As shown in FIG. 4, the holding portion 83 includes a groove portion 83 </ b> A surrounded by the second wall portion 831 </ b> A of the first portion 831 of the holding portion 83, the third wall portion 832 </ b> A of the second portion 832, and the left surface of the third portion 833. Is formed. In the groove portion 83 </ b> A, the fastening member 7 is inserted through a gap formed between the first portion 831 and the third portion 833 of the holding portion 83. At this time, the first portion 831 is sandwiched between the right side surface of the cap body H <b> 1 of the helmet H and the inner surface of the fastening member 7. The second wall portion 831A contacts the fastening member 7 so as to be slidable. At this time, since the third portion 833 is disposed opposite to the outer surface of the fastening member 7 opposite to the side in contact with the second wall portion 831A, the fastening member 7 is released to the right from the second wall portion 831A. It is prevented. Since the outer periphery of the cap body H1 of the helmet H becomes smaller from the lower edge portion toward the top portion, the fastening member 7 wound around the outer periphery of the cap body H1 is easy to move upward. Even if the fastening member 7 tries to move upward, the upper end portion of the fastening member 7 contacts the third wall portion 832A of the holding portion 83, so that the fastening member 7 is prevented from coming out of the holding portion 83 upward. Is done.
The mounting portion 8 is mounted on the helmet H in a state where the engaging portion 82 is engaged with the lower edge portion of the helmet H and the first portion 831 of the holding portion 83 is sandwiched between the side surface of the cap body H1 and the fastening member 7. The Thereby, the mounting portion 8 is mounted at the position of the head of the user U wearing the helmet H. The user U slides the second wall portion 831A on the fastening member 7 while keeping the mounting portion 8 attached to the helmet H, and moves along the lower edge portion of the cap body H1 and the fastening member 7. The mounting portion 8 can be moved in the front-rear direction with respect to the cap body H1. That is, the user U can easily adjust the position of the mounting portion 8 in the front-rear direction with respect to the cap body H1 without removing the mounting portion 8 mounted on the helmet H from the helmet H. In a state where the engaging portion 82 is engaged with the lower edge portion of the helmet H, the rib 824 stands up and down on the inside of the helmet H. When the mounting portion 8 is moved in the front-rear direction with respect to the cap body H1, for example, a force directed from the inside to the outside of the helmet H is applied to the engaging portion 82, and the engaging portion 82 is directed from the inside to the outside of the helmet H. May move. At this time, since the rib 824 contacts the lower edge of the helmet H from the inside of the helmet H, the lower edge of the helmet H is difficult to come off from the gap 82A of the engaging portion 82. That is, when the user U adjusts the position of the mounting part 8 in the front-rear direction with respect to the helmet H, and when the position of the display unit 4 is adjusted by the adjusting part 72, the mounting part 8 faces the outside of the helmet H. It is hard to come off.
In a state where the engaging portion 82 is engaged with the lower edge portion of the helmet H, the third extending portion 823 extends in the left-right direction below the lower edge portion of the helmet H. When the mounting portion 8 is moved in the front-rear direction with respect to the cap body H1, an upward force is applied to the mounting portion 8, and the mounting portion 8 may move upward with respect to the cap body H1. At this time, since the lower edge portion of the helmet H abuts on the fourth wall portion 823A of the engaging portion 82, the engaging portion 82 comes off from the lower edge portion of the helmet H, and the mounting portion 8 faces the top portion of the helmet H. It is prevented from coming off. Further, even if an upward force is applied to the mounting portion 8 due to the position adjustment of the display portion 4 by the adjusting portion 72, the lower edge portion of the helmet H abuts on the fourth wall portion 823A of the engaging portion 82. Therefore, it is difficult for the mounting portion 8 to come off toward the top of the helmet H.
The third portion 833 is provided with a concave portion 833A extending from the substantially horizontal center of the lower end portion of the third portion 833 toward the upper side to the substantially vertical center of the third portion 833. The user U can touch the fastening member 7 that is in contact with the second wall portion 831A by inserting a finger or the like through the recess 833A. For example, the user U adjusts the position where the fastening member 7 comes into contact with the second wall portion 831A by, for example, providing a gap between the fastening member 7 and the second wall portion 831A with a finger inserted from the recess 833A. Or the second wall portion 831A can be easily slid with respect to the fastening member 7.
When the position adjustment of the display unit 4 using the adjustment unit 72 is performed, at least one of the first ball joint 2 and the second ball joint 3 (see FIG. 2) in the adjustment unit 72 is rotated. At this time, due to the frictional force between the sphere part 21A of the ball stud 21 and the socket 22, a load with the position of the center 211 as the rotation center of the sphere part 21A applied to the socket 22 is applied. The load applied to the socket 22 is transmitted to the engaging portion 82 via the connecting portion 84 connected to the socket 22. The left-right direction component of the load transmitted to the engaging portion 82 is defined as F1. As shown in FIG. 4, F <b> 1 acts on the engaging portion 82 at the same position in the vertical direction as the center 211 of the spherical portion 21 </ b> A. At this time, the length in the vertical direction between the position where the lower edge of the helmet H abuts the inside of the engaging portion 82 and the position of the center 211 of the ball portion 21A of the ball stud 21 (the virtual line 829 and the virtual line 212) L1 in the vertical direction). Based on the load applied to the connecting portion 84 due to the position adjustment of the display portion 4 by the adjusting portion 72, the position where the lower edge portion of the helmet H abuts the inside of the engaging portion 82 acts on the mounting portion 8 as a fulcrum. The moment can be expressed as “F1 × L1” obtained by multiplying F1 by L1. When F1 acts in the left direction with respect to the mounting portion 8, the moment represented by F1 × L1 is applied to the mounting portion 8 with the position where the lower edge of the helmet H comes into contact with the inside of the engaging portion 82 as a fulcrum. In FIG. 4, it acts in the direction of clockwise rotation. Hereinafter, the moment represented by F1 × L1 is referred to as a rotational moment F1L1.
The horizontal component of the force acting on the first portion 831 when the fastening member 7 fastens the holding portion 83 of the mounting portion 8 to the cap body H1 of the helmet H is F2. F2 acts on the first portion 831 leftward so that the first portion 831 is close to the cap body H1. FIG. 4 shows an imaginary line 839 that passes in the left-right direction through the position where the force of F2 acts on the first portion 831. At this time, the length in the vertical direction between the position where the force of F2 acts on the first portion 831 and the position where the lower edge of the helmet H contacts the inside of the engaging portion 82 (the virtual line 839 and the virtual line 829 The length between the vertical directions) is L2. In FIG. 4, the position where the force F <b> 2 acts on the first portion 831 is the position where the center position in the vertical direction of the fastening member 7 contacts the second wall portion 831 </ b> A of the holding portion 83. Based on the force with which the fastening member 7 fastens the first portion 831, the moment acting on the mounting portion 8 with the position where the lower edge of the helmet H abuts the inside of the engaging portion 82 as a fulcrum is obtained by multiplying F2 by L2. It can be represented by “F2 × L2”. The moment represented by F2 × L2 acts in the direction in which the mounting portion 8 is rotated counterclockwise in FIG. 4 with the position where the lower edge of the helmet H abuts the inside of the engaging portion 82 as a fulcrum. Hereinafter, the moment represented by F2 × L2 is referred to as a rotational moment F2L2. The holding portion 83 is provided on the upper end portion 8B opposite to the lower end portion 8A where the engaging portion 82 is provided in the mounting portion 8. Further, since the connecting portion 84 is provided closer to the engaging portion 82 than the holding portion 83 in the vertical direction of the mounting portion 8, L2 is longer than L1. Therefore, the relationship represented by the formula (1) is easily established between F1 × L1 and F2 × L2.
F1 × L1 <F2 × L2 (1)
When Expression (1) is satisfied, the rotational moment F2L2 cancels the rotational moment F1L1 with respect to the mounting portion 8. In this case, even if the position of the display unit 4 is adjusted by the adjusting unit 72 and the rotational moment F1L1 acts on the mounting unit 8, the position where the lower edge of the helmet H contacts the inside of the engaging unit 82 is used as a fulcrum. The mounting portion 8 is prevented from rotating. In particular, since the length of L1 is longer than the length of L2, even if F1 acts on the engaging portion 82 with a relatively large force by adjusting the position of the display portion 4 by the adjusting portion 72, F1 × L1 and F2 × L2 The relationship of the formula (1) is easily maintained between Therefore, even if the position of the display unit 4 is adjusted by the adjusting unit 72, the mounting unit 8 is less likely to rattle against the helmet H. The user U can adjust the position of the display unit 4 by the adjusting unit 72 without shifting the position where the mounting unit 8 is mounted on the helmet H.
Although the shape of the helmet H is various, when the lower end portion of the helmet H is engaged with the engaging portion 82 of the mounting portion 8, the lower surface of the first extending portion 821, the first wall portion 822A, the third extending portion. The lower end of the helmet H is in contact with at least one of the upper surface of 823 and the right surface of the rib 824. In this case, since the imaginary line 829 is disposed at any position passing through the inside of the engaging portion 82, the length of L1 is shorter than the length of L2. Therefore, regardless of the shape of the helmet H, the relationship represented by the formula (1) is easily established between F1 × L1 and F2 × L2. That is, even when the mounting unit 8 is mounted on various helmets H, when the position of the display unit 4 is adjusted by the adjusting unit 72, the position at which the mounting unit 8 is mounted on the helmet H is not easily displaced. .
As described above, the mounting unit 8 can adjust the position in the front-rear direction with respect to the helmet H without removing the mounting unit 8, and even if the position of the display unit 4 is adjusted by the adjusting unit 72, On the other hand, the position where the mounting portion 8 is mounted is not easily displaced. For this reason, the user U moves the attachment part 8 along the lower edge part of the fastening member 7 and the helmet H according to the position of the left eye U1 of the user U, and the front-back direction of the attachment part 8 with respect to the helmet H The position of the display unit 4 can be adjusted using the adjustment unit 72. That is, the user U can easily adjust the mounting position of the mounting unit 8 and the position of the display unit 4 while the mounting unit 8 is mounted on the helmet H.
The position of the left eye U1 of the user U wearing the helmet H with respect to the helmet H varies depending on the size of the head of the user U, the size of the face, and the like. When the position of the left eye U1 is relatively close to the helmet H, the user U wears the mounting portion 8 at a position approximately in the center of the helmet H in the front-rear direction, and the lower end of the arm 9 is the lower edge of the helmet H. The position of the display unit 4 can be adjusted to the position of the left eye U1. Specifically, as shown in FIG. 5A, the HMD 1 is positioned relatively close to the helmet H by disposing the lower end portion of the arm 9 at a distance L3 from the lower edge of the helmet H. The display unit 4 can be arranged according to the position of the left eye U1. When the position of the left eye U1 is relatively far from the helmet H, the user U wears the mounting portion 8 at a position closer to the front of the helmet H, and the lower end portion of the arm 9 is separated from the lower edge portion of the helmet H. By doing so, the position of the display unit 4 can be adjusted to the position of the left eye U1. Specifically, as shown in FIG. 5 (B), the HMD 1 is positioned relatively far from the helmet H by disposing the lower end portion of the arm 9 at a distance L4 from the lower edge of the helmet H. The display unit 4 can be arranged according to the position of the left eye U1. Since the HMD 1 connects the display unit 4 to the mounting unit 8 via the arm 9, the left eye of various users U can be used by utilizing the mounting position of the mounting unit 8 with respect to the helmet H and the length of the arm 9. The position of the display unit 4 can be adjusted appropriately with respect to U1.
As described above, the HMD 1 has the adjusting unit 72 (the first ball joint 2 and the second ball joint 3) in a state where the mounting unit 8 is mounted on the helmet H worn by the user U using the fastening member 7. Thus, the display unit 4 is held in front of the user U and used. The lower end portion 8A of the mounting portion 8 is engaged with the lower edge portion of the cap body H1 of the helmet H by the engaging portion 82. The upper end portion 8B of the mounting portion 8 is fixed to the helmet H when the first portion 831 of the holding portion 83 is sandwiched between the right side surface of the cap body H1 of the helmet H and the inner surface of the fastening member 7. The connecting portion 84 is provided closer to the engaging portion 82 than the holding portion 83 at a position between the upper end portion 8B and the lower end portion 8A of the mounting portion 8. When the position of the display unit 4 is adjusted using the adjusting unit 72 in a state where the mounting unit 8 is mounted on the helmet H, the mounting unit 8 is mounted using the position where the lower edge of the helmet H contacts the inside of the engaging unit 82 as a fulcrum. A rotational moment F1L1 that rotates the portion 8 clockwise in a right side view acts. In addition, the fastening member 7 fastens the holding portion 83 of the mounting portion 8 to the cap body H1 of the helmet H, so that the mounting portion uses the position where the lower edge of the helmet H abuts the inside of the engaging portion 82 as a fulcrum. A rotational moment F2L2 is applied to rotate 8 counterclockwise when viewed from the right side. Since the connecting portion 84 is provided closer to the engaging portion 82 than the holding portion 83 in the vertical direction of the mounting portion 8, L2 is longer than L1. Therefore, since the rotational moment F2L2 is likely to be larger than the rotational moment F1L1, the mounting portion 8 is less likely to rattle against the helmet H even if the position of the display unit 4 is adjusted by the adjusting unit 72. Therefore, the HMD 1 can effectively prevent the position where the mounting unit 8 is mounted on the helmet H from being displaced by the position adjustment of the display unit 4 by the adjusting unit 72.
The second wall portion 831A of the groove portion 83A in the holding portion 83 of the mounting portion 8 contacts the fastening member 7 so as to be slidable. The user U moves the mounting portion 8 in the front-rear direction with respect to the cap body H1 along the lower edge of the cap body H1 and the fastening member 7 while keeping the mounting portion 8 mounted on the helmet H. Can be made. That is, the HMD 1 can allow the user U to easily adjust the mounting position of the mounting unit 8 and the position of the display unit 4 while the mounting unit 8 is mounted on the helmet H.
The arm 9 is connected to the display unit 4 via the adjustment unit 72. Since the HMD 1 connects the display unit 4 to the mounting unit 8 via the arm 9, the length of the arm 9 is used to appropriately display the display unit 4 on the left eye U 1 of various users U. The position can be adjusted.
The shape of the helmet H is various, and the lower edge of the cap body H1 may have a shape that spreads outward from the cap body H1. The engaging portion 82 includes a first extending portion 821 extending from the lower end portion of the base portion 81 toward the right side, a second extending portion 822 extending downward from the right end portion of the first extending portion 821, and a second extending portion 822. The third extending portion 823 extends from the lower end portion toward the left side. The left surface of the second extending portion 822 forms a first wall portion 822A that stands substantially vertically from the upper surface of the third extending portion 823. In a state where the mounting portion 8 is mounted on the helmet H, the first wall portion 822A extends in the vertical direction at a position outside the lower edge portion of the helmet H engaged with the engaging portion 82. Therefore, the helmet H is likely to come into contact with the first wall portion 822A at any position of the lower edge portion that spreads outward. Accordingly, the HMD 1 can stably attach the attachment portion 8 to the helmet H by bringing the lower edge portion of the helmet H into contact with the first wall portion 822A.
Since the outer periphery of the cap body H1 of the helmet H becomes smaller from the lower edge portion toward the top portion, the fastening member 7 wound around the outer periphery of the cap body H1 is easy to move upward. When the fastening member 7 is going to move upward in the holding portion 83, the upper end portion of the fastening member 7 comes into contact with the third wall portion 832 </ b> A of the holding portion 83. Therefore, the mounting portion 8 can prevent the fastening member 7 from coming off the holding portion 83 upward.
In a state where the engaging portion 82 is engaged with the lower edge portion of the helmet H, the third extending portion 823 extends in the left-right direction below the lower edge portion of the helmet H. In this case, since the lower edge portion of the helmet H abuts on the fourth wall portion 823A of the engaging portion 82, the engaging portion 82 comes off from the lower edge portion of the helmet H, and the mounting portion 8 faces the top portion of the helmet H. It is prevented from coming off. In a state where the engaging portion 82 is engaged with the lower edge portion of the helmet H, the rib 824 stands up and down on the inside of the helmet H. Therefore, when the mounting portion 8 is moved in the front-rear direction with respect to the cap body H1, the lower edge portion of the helmet H is engaged even if a force from the inside toward the outside of the helmet H is applied to the engaging portion 82. It is difficult to come out from the gap 82A of the portion 82. Accordingly, the HMD 1 is mounted on the helmet H when the position of the mounting unit 8 in the front-rear direction with respect to the helmet H is adjusted, or when the position of the display unit 4 is adjusted using the adjusting unit 72. Can be prevented from coming off the helmet H.
In the above-described embodiment, the lower end 8A is an example of the “first end” of the present disclosure. The upper end 8B is an example of the “second end” in the present disclosure.
In addition, this indication is not limited to said embodiment, A various change is possible. The helmet H may be a dedicated one for placing the HMD 1 on the head of the user U, or may be a general-purpose work helmet or the like. The target to which the HMD 1 is mounted is not limited to the helmet H, and may be other wearing tools (for example, a hat) worn on the user U's head. The mounting portion 8 may be mounted on the front side of the helmet H by engaging the engaging portion 82 with the brim H2.
The HMD 1 may be configured not to include the fastening member 7. The fastening member 7 may be a dedicated member for mounting the mounting portion 8 of the HMD 1 on the outer periphery of the cap body H1 of the helmet H. The fastening member 7 may be a general-purpose belt or the like provided for attaching a headlight or the like to the helmet H. In the mounting portion 8, the vertical length of the third portion 833 of the holding portion 83 may be the same as the vertical length of the first portion 831, or the vertical length of the third portion 833. However, the length of the first portion 831 in the vertical direction may be shorter.
The fastening member 7 may be directly connected to the mounting portion 8. In the mounting portion 8, the lower end portion of the third portion 833 of the holding portion 83 may extend downward to the first extending portion 821 of the engaging portion 82 and be connected to the first extending portion 821. Thereby, a loop-shaped portion may be formed in the mounting portion 8. The fastening member 7 may be inserted through the loop-shaped portion. The lower end portion of the loop-shaped portion does not need to reach the holding portion 83 and may be disposed at any position of the base portion 81. Further, instead of providing the holding portion 83 with the groove 83A, a protrusion that protrudes from the second wall portion 831A of the first portion 831 toward the right side may be provided. Further, the fastening member 7 may be provided with a long hole extending in the left-right direction so that the protrusion can be inserted. The fastening member 7 may be slidably brought into contact with the second wall portion 831A in a state where a long hole is inserted through the protrusion of the second wall portion 831A. In this case, the second portion 832 and the third portion 833 of the holding portion 83 may be provided or may not be provided.
Only one of the first ball joint 2 and the second ball joint 3 may be provided as the adjustment unit 72. The mechanism for rotatably connecting the display unit 4 to the mounting unit 8 is not limited to a ball joint, and may be another adjusting mechanism such as a universal joint or a rubber mount.
In the mounting portion 8, the connecting portion 84 may not be directly connected to the engaging portion 82, and may be provided above or below the engaging portion 82 in the mounting portion. Even in this case, if the connecting portion 84 is provided between the upper end portion 8B and the lower end portion 8A of the mounting portion 8 and closer to the engaging portion 82 than the holding portion 83, the rotation is possible. The rotational moment F2L2 tends to be larger than the moment F1L1. Therefore, the position where the mounting unit 8 is mounted with respect to the helmet H is prevented from being shifted by the position adjustment of the display unit 4 by the adjusting unit 72.
The display unit 4 may use a two-dimensional display device such as a digital mirror device (DMD) or an organic EL instead of the liquid crystal unit. The display unit 4 may use a retinal scanning type projection device (Retinal Scanning Display) that projects light two-dimensionally scanned onto the user's retina. The display unit 4 may use an optical path deflecting member such as a prism or a diffraction grating instead of the half mirror 42. The display unit 4 may emit the image light of the image displayed on the liquid crystal unit directly to the rear side so that the image light is emitted directly to the user's eyes without passing through the half mirror 42 or the like. In this case, the display unit 4 may not have the half mirror 42.
