A method for automatically arranging a rest stop via GPS, and a navigation system. The method comprises: recording rest stop positions on a navigation map and a driving time threshold value (S100); calculating a continuous driving time of a user and the current position of the user (S101); when the continuous driving time of the user is less than 20 minutes from the driving time threshold value, prompting the rest stop closest to the current position of the user (S102).
