Abstract

The invention concerns a method for reducing a volume of subcutaneous fat tissue in a skin region of a subject, said method comprising a step of sucking the skin region, previously covered with a wipe impregnated with a liquid or semi-solid composition comprising an anti-cellulite active ingredient, into a cavity of a cooling device and a step of cooling the subcutaneous fat tissue in such a way as to harden said volume of subcutaneous fat tissue in said skin region. The invention also concerns a wipe pre-impregnated with a liquid or semi-solid composition for implementing a method for reducing a volume of subcutaneous fat tissue by means of cold, characterised in that said composition is in liquid or semi-solid form at a temperature of between -12°C and 20°C and in that said composition comprises at least one anti-cellulite active ingredient.

Process for reducing a subcutaneous fat volume by the cold using an anticellulite active ingredient

Field of the invention

The invention relates to the field of aesthetic treatment of the silhouette of the human body.

More specifically, the invention relates to a method for reducing a volume of subcutaneous fat tissue by the cold in which a wipe and a liquid or semi-liquid composition comprising an anticellulite active agent are applied to a skin zone to be treated. said skin zone is cooled so as to cause apoptosis of the fat cells of said skin zone. The invention also relates to a wipe pre-impregnated with said composition, in particular for implementing said method.

Technical background

Cryolipolysis® is a non-invasive technique for the permanent reduction of localized subcutaneous fat by the cold. It allows to shape the silhouette of a patient, that is to say the contours of the body, according to the following principle.

Fat cells are vulnerable to cold because they are rich in saturated fatty acids. When cooled to a temperature of less than or equal to 4 ° C for a sufficient period of time, crystallization of the triglycerides contained in the fat cells (also called adipocytes) is observed. The crystallization of triglycerides gradually leads to a destruction of fat cells which thus enter into a phenomenon of apoptosis, that is to say, programmed cell death. Since fat cells are naturally more sensitive to cold than other tissues, this cold-based technique can primarily treat fat without damaging the skin and without damaging other tissues in the human body.

The fat cells or adipocytes thus destroyed are then drained and eliminated via the lymphatic system during the weeks following the treatment. There are different machines on the market that can reduce the volume of subcutaneous fatty tissue by the cold. The Applicant markets for example a machine under the brand name CRISTAL®, which includes two handpieces 5 to cool two localized areas at the same time, which reduces the duration of a session. A session typically takes place as follows: the skin area to be treated is covered with a wipe previously impregnated with a gel; then the handpiece of the machine is affixed to this wipe. This gradually sucks the fat bead into a cavity and cools it. The duration of the session with this machine varies from a few minutes to an hour depending on the area to be treated. At the end of the session, we obtain a swelling indurated by the cold. The practitioner then performs an energetic massage of the bead to break the adipocytes and for the skin to return to its normal appearance. The treated area can then be exposed to an LED (light emitting diode) light for

15 minutes to avoid any inflammation. Within a few weeks, the fat cells are destroyed and progressively eliminated at the point of treatment. This elimination will continue for two to three months. The final result is assessed after about 3 months.

Such a method thus makes it possible to eliminate 30% to 50% of the volume of the subcutaneous fats which are located in the hypoderm of the skin. However, with this method it is difficult to reach the adipose lobules located deep in the hypodermis which are responsible for the phenomenon of orange peel which is also referred to as "cellulite". The phenomenon of orange peel is mainly found in women and is explained by a structural difference of the walls of the adipose lobules that store the adipocytes. In the man, the partitions are vertical and parallel to each other, whereas in the woman the partitions of the lobules realize a rhombus of which a point is anchored under the dermis. As a result, when the lobules are distended by the mass of adipocytes filled with triglycerides, the woman's skin takes on the appearance of a padded fabric called "orange peel".

Anti-cellulite creams are known which are applied to the skin, which contain an anti-cellulite active facilitating the destocking of fat cells and curbing their multiplication, such as caffeine. However, these creams have limited effectiveness because the anti-cellulite active is difficult to reach the hypodermis where lie the adipose lobules responsible for the appearance of orange peel. There is therefore a need to improve the effectiveness of anticellulite creams by broadening their scope.

There is also a need to improve current techniques for reducing cold subcutaneous fat tissue volume to be more effective in the treatment of cellulite.

Summary of the invention

The invention meets these needs.

It relates to a method for reducing a subcutaneous fat tissue volume of a skin area of a subject, said method comprising the steps of:

A1) providing a wipe pre-impregnated with a liquid or semi-solid composition, said composition comprising an anticellulite active agent, then covering the skin zone with the pre-impregnated wipe; or

A2) Providing a wipe and a liquid or semi-solid composition comprising an anticellulite active, then applying the liquid or semi-solid composition comprising an anti-cellulite active agent to the skin area, and then applying the wipe to the skin. skin zone covered with the liquid or semi-solid composition comprising an anticellulite active agent;

The invention also relates to a wipe impregnated with a liquid or semi-solid composition, especially for the implementation of this process, characterized in that the said composition is in liquid or semi-solid form at a temperature of between -12 ° C. C and 20 ° C and in that said composition comprises at least one anticellulite active. Without wishing to be bound to a particular theory, it is supposed that during the suction of the skin area covered with the wipe, the skin is very tight, as a result of which the pores of the skin open more widely. This facilitates the penetration of the anti-cellulite active through the skin and allows it to reach the fat lobules further. By virtue of the process according to the invention, the composition which comprises the anticellulite active is thus much more effective towards cellulite than when it is simply applied to an area of skin at rest, that is to say not stretched. The method according to the invention therefore combines a technique of reducing a volume of subcutaneous fatty tissue in a cold skin zone and anticellulite treatment in the same zone which is potentiated by the aspiration of the skin. skin during the implementation of the process. Detailed description of the invention

According to a first aspect, the invention relates to a non-therapeutic method for reducing a subcutaneous fat tissue volume of a skin area of a subject, said method comprising steps A1) or A2), B) and C ) as defined above.

The skin has three layers: the epidermis (the superficial layer), the dermis (the middle layer) and the hypodermis (the deep layer). By "subcutaneous fatty tissue" is meant a fatty tissue located in the hypodermis, i.e., the deepest layer of the skin.

The method according to the invention makes it possible to treat all the skin areas presenting an adipose bulge whose volume is desired to be reduced, such as the hips, by particular the areas that are commonly called the "love handles", the belly, the buttocks, especially the area that is called the saddlebags, knees, thighs, arms, back creases , chest or double chin.

In a first step, two embodiments are possible: either step A1 is carried out, or step A2) is carried out.

Step A1): there is a wipe pre-impregnated with a liquid or semi-solid composition, said composition comprising an anticellulite active agent, and then the skin area to be treated is covered by the pre-impregnated wipe. Step A2): a wipe is available on the one hand and a liquid or semi-solid composition comprising an anticellulite active ingredient on the other hand. Then the liquid or semi-solid composition comprising an anticellulite active ingredient is applied to the area of skin to be treated, and then said wipe is applied to the skin zone covered with the liquid or semi-solid composition comprising an anticellulite active agent.

The wipe makes it possible to avoid direct contact between the skin zone and the cooling device (which will be described hereinafter) and also makes it possible to retain the gel during the suction step (which will be described below). ).

The cavity 3 can be in various shapes and sizes, which is chosen according to the area of the body to be treated and the morphology of the subject. For example, to treat the hip flanges, the cavity will preferably have an elongated shape, such as, for example, the shape of a rectangular parallelepiped with vertices rounded or similar shape of oval section. The cooling time depends on the temperature applied to the skin area and the size of the bead to be treated. Depending on the type of bead to be treated, the volume of subcutaneous fat can be cooled for a time between 40 minutes and 100 minutes.

The suction is carried out at a pressure typically between 100 mbar and 1000 mbar, in particular between 150 mbar and 900 mbar, more particularly between 700 mbar and 1000 mbar.

The pressure level between 700 mbar and 1 000mbar which is higher than the suction levels of the known devices for reducing fat by the cold, is particularly advantageous to ensure an improvement in the penetration of the anticellulite active ingredient in the skin.

For example, the treatment time for treating the love handles will typically be about 60 minutes, under a suction pressure of 480 mbar and at a temperature of -6 ° C.

After obtaining a volume of fatty tissue indurated by cold, the suction is stopped and the cooling device is removed from the skin area, then the wipe is removed. The practitioner can then perform an energetic massage indurated bead to break the adipocytes, stimulate lymphatic drainage and for the skin to return to its normal appearance.

According to one embodiment, the method according to the invention comprises a step D) of massage of the skin area treated immediately after the cooling step C). This massage promotes the penetration of anti-cellulite active ingredient in the skin thanks to the energy provided by the massage.

According to one embodiment, steps A1) or A2), B), C) and then D) are repeated after the massage step of the treated skin zone.

For example, the following sequences can be realized:

- Application of a wipe according to the invention on a skin zone;

- Aspiration and cooling of the skin area a predetermined time, for example 35 minutes;

- Massage of the skin area cooled for a predetermined time, for example 10 minutes;

- Application of a wipe according to the invention on the skin area having been massaged;

- Aspiration and cooling of the same skin area for a predetermined time, for example 35 minutes;

- Massage of the skin area cooled for a predetermined time, for example 10 minutes. The alternation of cold, massage (hot), cold and massage (hot) promotes the destruction of adipocytes. It is also possible to expose the treated zone to a heating device, for example an LED light, in particular for about ten minutes to prevent inflammation of the skin.

For skin areas that are difficult to aspirate, such as saddlebags in some patients, the cooling device does not include a cavity or suction system but it has a flat surface. This flat surface is applied to the area to be treated and the cooling device is maintained in this position by compression using a strap, until a volume of fatty tissue indurated by cold.

According to a second aspect, the invention relates to a wipe pre-impregnated with a liquid or semi-solid composition intended and suitable for use in a process for reducing a subcutaneous fat volume by the cold, in particular for the purpose of Implementation of the method according to the invention.

The wipe according to the invention is impregnated with a composition which is in liquid or semi-solid form at a temperature of between -12 ° C. and 20 ° C. and which comprises at least one anticellulite active ingredient.

The liquid or semi-solid composition comprising an anticellulite active agent makes it possible to constitute an anti-freeze barrier for the skin and prevents the skin from being burned during the cooling step. Indeed, a phenomenon of condensation can cause the presence of water on the surface of the skin, thus causing frost formation on the skin when it is subjected to negative temperatures. This formation of frost is likely to cause burns of the skin. The liquid or semi-solid composition acts as an antifreeze against the water layer on the skin and thus avoids the burns that could be caused by the cooling.

The wipe according to the invention is formed from a flexible material capable of being impregnated with a liquid or semi-liquid composition.

This material may be a textile (fabric, knit or nonwoven) made of natural fibers, synthetic or semi-synthetic fibers or a mixture thereof. The natural fibers can be chosen from cotton, silk or the cellulose. The synthetic or semi-synthetic fibers may be chosen from polyolefins, polyesters, rayon, polyamides, poly (ester amides) or polyvinyl alcohols.

The volume of liquid or semi-solid composition applied to the skin area depends on the surface to be treated and can thus range from 5 to 25 cl.

The pre-impregnated wipe comprises a quantity of liquid or semi-solid composition which may be between 5% and 95% by weight, in particular between 10% and 80% by weight.

The liquid or semi-solid composition containing an anticellulite active is formulated from an excipient or a mixture of excipients which does not freeze at a temperature of between -12 ° C and 20 ° C.

Preferably, the liquid or semi-solid composition containing an anticellulite active is formulated so that it can be easily applied to the skin, be pleasant to the touch and be easily removed when the session is over.

For example, when it is liquid, the composition can be prepared from a liquid carrier or a mixture of liquid excipients, such as glycerine, alcohols such as ethanol or isopropanol, or from propylene glycol, polyethylene glycol or oils such as sesame oil, corn oil, soybean oil, or medium chain triglycerides.

According to one embodiment, the liquid or semi-solid composition comprises a solvent chosen from glycerine, a glycol, a monoalcohol or a mixture thereof.

The glycol may be chosen from polypropylene glycol, polyethylene glycol, propylene glycol, ethylene glycol or a mixture thereof.

The monoalcohol may be chosen from ethanol, propanol, isopropanol, 1-butanol, 2-butanol, isobutanol, tert-butanol or a mixture thereof.

According to a particular embodiment, the liquid or semi-solid composition comprises from 20% to 60%, in particular from 30% to 60%, more particularly from 30% to 50% by weight of a solvent. When it is semi-solid, the composition may be a gel, an ointment (monophasic excipient), a paste (semi-solid preparation containing a high proportion of powder finely dispersed in the excipient) or a cream (multiphase preparation).

A gel is a preparation consisting of liquids which are gelled with suitable gelling agents. A gel may be a hydrophobic gel (oleogel) or a hydrophilic gel (hydrogel). A hydrophobic gel can be prepared from liquid paraffin, polyethylene and fatty oils gelled with colloidal silica. A hydrophilic gel can be prepared from hydrophilic solvents, such as water, glycerol, propylene glycol, and gelling agents, such as carrageenan, gelatin, cellulose gel, a carbomer or thickeners or viscosity agents such as alginates, cellulosic derivatives such as hydroxyethylcellulose, carboxyvinyl polymers, xanthan gum, or acrylates such as C10-30 Alkyl acrylate crosspolymer.

An ointment can be lipophilic, water-absorbing or hydrophilic. A cream is a multiphase preparation, generally consisting of a lipophilic phase and a hydrophilic phase. To stabilize the two phases, it is necessary to add one or more surfactants, such as for example sodium lauryl sulfate or sorbitan esters, and a thickening agent or viscosity agent, as mentioned above. The anticellulite active ingredient is chosen from among the active ingredients that promote lipolysis and / or drainage and are chosen in particular from caffeine, green tea, Ginkgo biloba, andiroba extracts, small holly, ivy, seaweeds. , or the essential oil of Eucalyptus dives.

The liquid or semi-solid composition containing an anticellulite active agent is preferably a hydrogel comprising glycerin, a carbopol® (carbomer) as a gelling agent, xanthan gum as a thickener, and as active ingredients of caffeine, a green tea extract. and salicylic acid.

According to a particular embodiment, the liquid or semi-solid composition containing an anticellulite active agent comprises:

from 30% to 60% by weight of a solvent such as glycerine;

from 0.1% to 1% by weight of a gelling agent such as a carbomer;

from 0.1% to 1% by weight of a thickener such as xanthan gum;

from 0.1% to 1% by weight of a preservative;

from 0.1 to 10% by weight of an anticellulite active agent such as caffeine or a green tea extract;

from 0.1 to 5% by weight of salicylic acid;

- a sufficient amount of water to obtain 100%.

The pre-impregnated wipe according to the invention may be packaged in a waterproof bag which encloses a single wipe or in a sealed package which encloses several wipes. In the bag or package, it can be in folded form, in particular by lacing, or folded in Z, W, or Z and then in two. The pre-impregnated wipe may also be packaged in boxes, refills or buckets. Example 3 Effect of the wipe according to the invention on cellulite

A group of 6 patients under age 50 and whose skin had a clearly visible cellulite effect on the areas corresponding to the saddlebags was selected to measure and compare the effectiveness of the wipe according to the invention. with a conventional wipe containing no anticellulite active ingredient.

For this purpose, for each of the 6 patients, a conventional cryolipolysis applicator and a wipe according to the invention impregnated with the hydrogel according to Example 2 were used on the left leg panty zone while the panty zone of horse's right leg was treated with a wipe impregnated with a hydrogel without active ingredient anticellulite.

Parameter table

Each of the 6 patients received the same treatment on each leg according to the protocols in the table above, followed by a palpated-rolled massage of the treated area. For the 6 patients treated, the results showed on the right leg no improvement except for the patient 5. Without even the use of the active ingredient it showed a slight improvement in the appearance of cellulite that took place 8 weeks after the second session.
