Abstract

Description

DESCRIPTION A MOTION DETECTION AND WARNING SYSTEM Technical Field
The present invention relates to a system providing the detection and stimulation of wrist movements, notification of related individuals, establishment of a rehabilitation plan depending on the pre-determined functional angle limits and the monitoring of the rehabilitation process for the functional protection of the wrist in patients with diseases specifically as carpal tunnel syndrome, cerebral palsy, brachial plexus injuries and cumulative trauma or in patients suffering from paralysis.
Prior Art
One of the joints we use the most in daily life is the wrist joint. For protection of hand wrist against cumulative trauma and for treatment of pathologies, treatment of the hand wrist against cumulative trauma and in the treatment of pathologies in the wrist for various reasons, static orthoses and simple arrangements are used. These traditional methods involve taking the wrist into static protection. These traditional methods, however, hamper the dynamic process required to learn movement.
In the known state of the art, Turkish patent document numbered TR2014/01669 refers to a diagnostic device used in the diagnosis of carpal tunnel syndrome, which forms as a result of the compression of the median nerve passing through the wrist . Said device used in the diagnosis of carpal tunnel syndrome is a diagnostic device comprising a wrist- mounted sleeve and includes a pressure bar provided in said sleeve to provide a vertical directional pressure on the median nerve at constant pressure for constant period of time.
Brief Description of the Invention
The object of the present invention is to provide a system for functional protection of the wrist that realize detecting wrist movements, establishing a rehabilitation plan based on the detected wrist functional angle limits, monitoring the rehabilitation process and based on the process alerting the individuals concerned.
Another object of the invention is to realize a system that directs the patient to the angles which does not create pathology by allowing the natural movements of the wrist, without interfering with the natural movement of the wrist.
Detailed Description of the Invention

In particular, the system (1) of the present invention that provides detection of the movement of the wrist, transmission of a warning to the individual according to hisstate of motion, and formation of a rehabilitation plan comprises;
- At least one movement data collection unit (2) which is capable of collecting data related to the functional angle of the wrist of the user (K) (flexion-extension, radial- ulnar deviation) by means of at least one sensor (S) comprised in said data collection unit

In the system of the invention (1), the movement data collection unit (2) is a unit in which the user (K) can collect data relating to the functional angle of the wrist during wrist movement with the sensors (S). The topographical diagram of the wrist can be drawn by making topographical measurements of the movement of the wrist by the sensors (S) in the movement data collection unit (2) . The sensors (S) in the movement data collection unit (2) can be the flexion sensor, IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) devices or RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) tags. The movement data collection unit (2) is a unit which transmits the data related to hand wrist of the user (K) to the server (7) via the remote and close communication protocols. In the system according to the invention, the movement data collection unit (2) is a unit which is structured such that it can take action in accordance with the warning transmitted by the warning transmission unit (6) and can give the user (K) at least the audible and / or visual and / or vibrational notification. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the movement data collection unit (2) is a wristband.
The user information database (3) is a database for storing; movement data of the wrist of the user (K) collected by the movement data collection unit (2), the warning information that the warning determination unit (5) actuates and the rehabilitation plan specifically determined for the user (K) and the information relating to exercises according to the rehabilitation plan are done or not are recorded.
In the system according to the invention (1), the warning database (4) is a database which determines the angular range for functional motion of the hand wrist that is necessary for determining a need for initiating a warning through warning determination unit (5) and the certain time intervals that upon exceeding said range causes trauma. The warning database (4) maintains different angular intervals and different durations for different age groups and for people with carpal tunnel syndrome, diseases such as cerebral palsy, brachial plexus injuries and for cumulative trauma or stroke patients.
In the system of the invention (1), the warning determination unit (5) is the unit that determines whether or not at least one warning will be put in place in accordance with the information relating to hand wrist functional angular range kept in warning database (4) collected by the movement collection unit (2) and kept in the user data base (3). The warning unit (5) takes into account that the functional angle range of the wrist held on the warning database (4) and the angle limit are exceeded for a certain period of time when determining whether or not a warning is to be actuated .The warning determination unit (5) transmits the instruction to the warning transmission unit (6) for transmitting the functional angle range of the wrist held in the database (4) and the motion data to the motion data collection unit (2) when the angle limit is exceeded for a predetermined time.
In the system (1) of the present invention, the server (7) is in communication with the movement data collection unit (2) and the user information database (3) and is accessible to the user via an interface provided via an electronic client device.The server (7) determines the user-specific (K) rehabilitation plan according to the specific templates by diagnosing according to the specific patterns according to the data collected by the movement data collection unit (2).
The server (7) is in communication with the game database (8) where the various games providing the wrist exercises according to the specific rehabilitation plan of the user ( ) are recorded in correspondence with various wrist motion patterns.
Around the basic concepts, it is possible to develop a wide variety of applications for the invention "A Motion Detection and Alert System (1)" and the invention is not limited to the examples disclosed herein, but essentially as set forth in the claims.

Claims

1. A system for detecting movement of the wrist is, transmission of a warning according to the state of motion and formation of a rehabilitation plan characterized in that said system comprises;
at least one movement data collection unit (2) which is capable of collecting data related to the functional angle of the wrist (K) of the user (flexion-extension, radial-ulnar deviation) by means of at least one sensor (S) comprised in said data collection unit
- at least one user information database (3) holding information of the user (K) at least one warning database (4) keeping information related to the range and functional angle limits that the wrist should have in the functional range of motion (flexion-extension, radial-ulnar deviation),
at least one warning determination unit (5) which is in communication with the movement data collection unit (2) and the warning data base (4) and which compares the information contained in the warning data base (4) with the data collected by the movement data collection unit (2) to determine whether at least one warning should be initiated or not,
at least one warning transmission unit (6) providing transmittal of the warning determined by the warning detecting unit (5) to the movement data collection unit
- at least one server (7) that is in connection with movement data collection unit (2) and user information database (3), that can be accessed by the user via an interface provided by at least one electronic client device and that determines a personal rehabilitation plan (K) based on the diagnosis determined by processing of data collected by the movement data collection unit (2) in relation to predetermined templates and
at least one game database (8) which is in communication with the server (7) and providing various games for wrist training according to the user's (K) special rehabilitation plan that are are recorded in correspondence with various wrist motion patterns.
2. A system (1) according to claim 1, characterized in that said system comprises the movement data collection unit (2) comprising a motion sensor for performing topographic measurements of movement of the wrist.
3. A system (1) according to Claim 1 or 2, characterized in that said system comprises the motion data collection unit (2) comprising IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) devices for performing topographic measurements of the motion of the wrist.
4. A system (1) according to any one of the above claims, characterized in that the said system comprises the movement data collection unit (2) comprising RFID (Radio-Frequency Identification) tags that make topographic measurements of movement of the wrist.
5. A system (1) according to any of the above claims, characterized in that the movement data collection unit (2) transmits the data related to hand wrist of the user (K) to the server (7) via the remote and close communication protocols.

A system (1) according to any of the above claims, characterized in that said system comprises a movement data collection unit (2) in which the user (K) can receive at least voice and / or visual and / or vibration notifications by taking action according to the warning transmitted by the warning transmission unit (6) .
7. A system (1) as in any one of the above claims, characterized by a movement data collection unit (2) which is a wristband.

A system (1) according to any of the above claims characterized in that the user information database (3) is a database for storing; movement data of the wrist of the user (K) collected by the movement data collection unit (2), the warning information that the warning determination unit (5) actuates and the rehabilitation plan specifically determined for the user (K) and the information relating to whether exercises according to the rehabilitation plan are done or not are recorded

A system (1) according to any of the above claims, characterized in that the warning database (4) is a database which determines the angular range for functional motion of the hand wrist that is necessary for determining a need for initiating a warning through warning determination unit (5) and the certain time intervals that upon exceeding said range causes trauma.

A system (1 ) according to any of the preceding claims characterized in that the warning determination unit (5) is the unit that determines whether or not at least one warning will be put in place in accordance with the information relating to hand wrist functional angular range, that is kept in warning database (4), collected by the movement collection unit (2) and kept in the user data base (3)

A system (1) according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the system comprises a warning unit (5) which takes into account that the functional angle range of the wrist held on the warning database (4) and the angle limits are exceeded for a certain period of time when determining whether or not a warning is to be actuated.

A system (1) according to any of the preceding claims characterized in that said system comprises the warning determination unit (5) which transmits the instruction to the warning transmission unit (6) for transmitting the functional angle range of the wrist held in the database (4) and the motion data to the motion data collection unit (2) when the angle limit is exceeded for a predetermined time.
