Further, for improved performance the guard intervals cannot be used for transmission of additional data symbols without considering how it impacts the whole system, i.e. the impact on both near-end and far-end receiving devices. The performance of the whole system is therefore considered by classifying the receiving devices into the subset R Sub or not and only enable transmission in the guard intervals that will not generate ISI and negatively impact the overall system performance.

Recall that the receiving devices not in the subset R Sub experience longer channel delay spread, and thus the additional data symbols will be spread by the channel while it is propagated through the radio channel. However, by controlling the power for the second sequence of data symbols P 2 the level of interference the additional data symbol might create can be held low, and optimally below the noise floor level of the receiving devices in the set R.

Abstract

L'invention concerne un dispositif de transmission (100) pour un système de communication (500), le dispositif de transmission (100) étant configuré de sorte à obtenir un ensemble d'étalements du temps de propagation (T) pour un ensemble correspondant de dispositifs de réception (R), chaque étalement du temps de propagation de l'ensemble d'étalements du temps de propagation (T) étant associé à un canal entre le dispositif de transmission (100) et un dispositif de réception (300) de l'ensemble de dispositifs de réception (R), classifier des dispositifs de réception (300a, 300b,…, 300i) de l'ensemble de dispositifs de réception (R) en un sous-ensemble de dispositifs de réception (R sub ) si l'étalement du temps de propagation correspondant pour un dispositif de réception (300) est inférieur ou égal à une valeur de seuil d'étalement du temps de propagation (T Th ), transmettre une première séquence de symboles de données (S 1 ) avec une première puissance de transmission (P 1 ) à l'ensemble de dispositifs de réception (R), la première séquence de symboles de données (S 1 ) comprenant au moins un intervalle de garde (GI) prévu entre deux symboles de données de la première séquence de symboles de données (S 1 ), transmettre une seconde séquence de symboles de données (R sub ) avec une seconde puissance de transmission (P 2 ) au sous-ensemble de dispositifs de réception (R sub ), la seconde séquence de symboles de données (S 2 ) comprenant au moins un symbole de données supplémentaire dans l'intervalle de garde (GI) de la première séquence de symboles de données (S 1 ). La présente invention concerne également des procédés, un programme d'ordinateur, et un produit programme d'ordinateur correspondants.
